Ron, those are very confusing, but I think I'll be voting for the lawyers (and I do hate ambulance chasers) but from what I've read, the other initiave will cap monetary amounts, which is FINE is SOME cases, but what if there really was a total screwup by dr or hospital, and the patient is left paralyzed or worse.
I don't know, gonna have to check it out more

"I agree with smoking bans in office buildings and such and have no problem going outside should I decide to smoke during the day. In fact, my wife and I also smoke outside at home. If anything, smoking outside leads to smoking less cigarettes which saves big bucks these days."

I don't like the laws either, and I quit smoking 13 years ago, except for the occasional Cubano that I import illegally So many people don't smoke these days, that I think the bar owners are realizing that their business doesn't depend on smokers any more. That'll help get these laws through.
Now, if we can just ban the fat people...OOPS...I didn't say that....

From a smoker: No, I don't think a ban on indoor smoking is a good idea. Personally, I don't smoke in restaurants or when I'm around those who don't smoke except in my own home. I don't smoke around my granddaughter either. However, where does it stop? I'm offended by drunks sitting next to me at a football game especially knowing they are going to get into their cars and drive home. I'm offended by women in bars and restaurants who douse themselves in perfume. Some of it is enough to make you ill. I'm offended by cars burning oil so badly that even with your windows shut you can still smell the foul stench as it burns your lungs. I'm offended by people who grope each other in public, as well.
As a smoker, even I can't stand being around someplace that is thick with smoke. So, I leave and go somewhere else. I draw the line at banning smoking in places like bars, the bowling alley, etc. Restaurants and office buildings I think should stay smoke-free. JMHO.

I smoke... I'm annoyed I can't smoke in bars anymore..At east most of them. The new law has hurt the tavern business where I live. We don't have any "walk to" places in the country.
Some of the places I do go to just give you an ash tray when you ask. Others have backhoes parked out front and are waiting for the public servant to stop by and complain.

Fortunately, we haven't had any kind of smoking ban here. Yet. Some of the surrounding suburbs are looking into it, but I can't see it happening in Cleveland as a whole anytime soon.

Cheryl. I don't get it.. you eat healthy, you are into all kinds of healthy therapy, you ride a bike and hike up mountains and keep yourself fit and watch your weight...and then you smoke...
one of these things is not like the other.. one of these things just doesn't belong.. if you tell me which thing is not like the other.. then I'll tell you which doesn't belong..la la la...
