Here's a couple of fun halloween threads from the past that didn't get mean and nasty like this one seems to be getting. What's changed from then to now, why does it have to get mean and nasty??
NTS, i tried to find the thread that you had posted that other pic changing thingy in but my archives just aren't complete.....sorry.

DB-I guess I misinterpeted your statement LOL
however that is what she is paid-she is a Spec Ed teacher -evidently you have never been to Westchester Co in New York.
They get paid alot because its VERY expensive to live there. We dont live there because we couldnt afford to-we live two counties up.

Classic, I think the closest I ever got to Westchester was Yonkers and Im not even sure if that is part of it or not. But I am aware that people who could afford it lived there and then commuted to NYC and it was considered ritzy. I think tho, I may have went to see Billy Squier in concert in Westchester in the 80ties? Somebody gave us the tickets and we decided to go..I think it was Westchester anyway, was so long ago so I hardly remember it. I do remember we got lost getting there though
profe, what would you like explained about it, and who do you suppose that somebody to explain it to you should be? It's really quite simple, you know. You dont see a whole lot of people asking you to explain your signature line, and yours is not even in English, do you? So sometimes things dont mean anything to anybody except to those who wrote them. But they are open to interpretation as much as you or anyone would like them to be just the same

Naw....now don't go getting discouraged, NearTheSea....people usually are more happy and sharing around the Christmas holidays than any time during the year. We might just have a wonderful Christmas thread.

DB-yes Yonkers is in Westchester-in fact that is where she teaches-its an hour and 15 commute from where we are.
If you saw a concert in Westchester,it could have been at the County Center in White Plains

Interesting, Helen but as i said, what's changed from then to now and weren't most of those posting in your first set mostly lefties??
One common thing i noticed in most all the threads was how much candy Kraft over-purchased and then realised that she doesn't get trick or treaters, being out in the country and all. Methinks Kraft has a sugar addiction.....that's why she's so sweet all the time.

fenix, if the profe cared to explain it, I must have missed that thread. But the point is, I dont care if profe explained it. I have never asked what it means, or sought out to find what it is supposed to mean. But neither have I assumed it is, or isnt, an insult on the daisy chain.
And besides I thought I explained it sufficiently. Suncom is sponsoring me right now, so I have agreed to carry the tag line around. Good enough for you?
Classic (One day I'll tell ya about my trip to Yonkers. lol.)

piinthesky - Yes, we'll have Thanksgiving to share the things we've been thankful for during the year. Which includes GREAT food.
No need to over eat....stuff ourselves...just enjoy the good times with family and friends. Let them know how thankful we are they're in our lives.

District bans Halloween to not offend witches
Costumes with pointy noses not 'respectful' to Wiccan religion

A Seattle-area school district has banned Halloween activities partly because the celebrations and costumes might be offensive to real witches.
Offensive to witches?
"Witches with pointy noses and things like that are not respective symbols of the Wiccan religion, and so we want to be respectful of that," said Puyallup School District spokeswoman Karen Hansen, according to KOMO television in Seattle.
Students brought home a letter to their parents yesterday stating there would be no observance of Halloween in the entire school district.
Hansen explained the district supertintendent made the decision for three primary reasons. Along with the concern about hurting Wiccans, the parties are regarded as a waste of valuable classroom time, and some families can't afford costumes. "We really want to make sure we're using all of our time in the best interest of our students," she told KOMO.

NTS, it is a little early for a Happy Christmas thread since DeLay and Rove have not been convicted of their crimes yet. Once they have been, the Happy Christmas thread can begin.

logansdad, welcome! to this Halloween thread.
Really
The political posts are above and below from this thread.
So are you going to do anything special for Halloween? do you have many kids come to your house for trick or treating?
We do, tons, I never buy enough candy!
We put out decorations, and we have outdoor speakers on our deck, and play 'creepy' and 'scary' music outside.

I have to work during the day, so I won't have time to do much. The husband and I will be passing out candy and taking the kids trick or treating. Our sub-division has lots of kids. One year we wen through about 30 bags of candy.
