My idea of a great Christmas is a Tropical beach. Warm Sun,clean air and water plus Palm trees decorated with Christmas lights. A place where you put a Palm leaf under your bed hoping to find a gift on it in the morning.

A place where not much work gets done from Christmas until after 3 Kings day.

A place where if you have a shovel you don't have the stone and when you have the stone you don't have shovel. A place when you put the shovel and stone together its a Holiday.

A place where there is no snakes because of the Mongoose.

Even I don't mind Christmas shopping in a place like that.

I absolutely HATE to shop. I buy 3 pair of levis (well and other essentials) and I'm good for awhile!

Today was my oldest daughters birthday. Took her out to dinner (along with her boyfriend, younger daughter, her hubby and baby) That was over $200!

Gave money because I couldn't find the damn prepaid visas. All presents are going towards her '73 Ford Truck. Her sister and her husband gave her 4 new big tires, and my brother is restoring it for her.

Ok the bday was easy, now onto other daughters bday in 2 weeks! and THEN CHRISTMAS, then the BABYS first Bday!! I can't wait till summer!!!

Why Don't Men X-Mas Shop??
Because they're smarter than women (when it comes to Christmas).

If women would quit stressing themselves out by "doing" Christmas it would die a lovely slow death.

Women would then be free (like men) to lay around, watch TV, get drunk, or maybe ENJOY time with their family.

I have heard so many women COMPLAIN about Christmas and the work and the stress and then keep right on, year after year, hating and dreading it and not realizing that all they have to do is QUIT!

It's a different story if you LIKE and ENJOY Christmas...go ahead waste your days off slaving away but if you don't look forward to it QUIT!
It's NOT a law...it's a tradition that can be overlooked .......

My family and I enjoy dinners, gifts, get-togethers, decorations, parties, "hangin' out" all year long....EVERYBODY participates and it's so much less stressful and a lot more fun than being forced to it according to societies timetable!

maggie, you sound like you put out a great Christmas.

We men just enjoy the fruits of your labor.

My GF understands traditional holidays and even though she grumbles some, I think she would rather eat nails than not do them.

And if they weren't the cause of her crying, then what??

Well...I'd think that he/she would still want to talk about it with their partner....help them work through whatever is causing them to cry. To me, that's what relationships are all about....that you have someone who really cares about you, how you're feeling, what may be upsetting you, and wants to help you feel better. And being comforted and hugged makes a lot of things much better.

I gave my liberal neighbors son a book for his birthday. He went crazy trying to find where to put the batteries. [ edited by Bear1949 on Oct 30, 2005 03:39 PM ]

I did miss it, just can't depend on those redheads to stay faithful.
