Cheryl, how's little Ryan doing?

Roadsmith, how's your new knee working out?

Fenix, how's your mom doing?

Maggie, how's the neighbourhood looking?

Helen, how are your relatives down south doing?

How's everyone else doing?

That's it for now.

My mom is doing good. The surgery is in two weeks. We basically pack and move stuff for about 3-4 hours a day and she's done. We spent the weekend loading the step up with a trailer full of rocks (Not kidding...in addition to boxes, a kiln and two potters wheels he took about half a ton of alabaster and marble..aka - those damn tombstone pieces - plus his insane collection of fossilized this and that, petrified whatsit's and "but look at the shape" rocks.)and sent him south to check on the house so we have had a great time this week... Oh yeah, and I tore my rotator cuff.

I love your dog, Maggie!

My cousin in Pascagoula, Mississippi could probably use that piece of equipment!

Thanks for reminding me KD...I'll have to call and find out what's happening there.

Ryan's doing quite well. He's walking again, although not as well as he was before he got Leukemia. He's still undergoing treatments and is still bloated from them. But, he's laughing and beginning to talk. It's going to be a long time before he's allowed to go to a daycare, so Melissa and her three children have moved in with my brother! Bless his heart. At 47, he's now got a house full of kids.

Cheryl,

Glad to hear Ryan is doing better. I hope his recovery goes smoothly and he is back to enjoying life as a kid real soon.

Maggie,
How are things going with the insurance company? Have you made any progress with your claims?

Logansdad, still trying to get estimates for all the work to be done..it will be a long process.

We had an entire convoy of strong young men out here yesterday, cleaning up the trees and debris, not sure if they were army or fema workers.. but I was so thankful for the help..I made ice-tea and sandwiches for them, the least I could do..

Gee, thanks loads Maggie. You could have at least taken pictures of these young, strong men so we could decide for ourselves whether they needed sandwiches and tea. You're so self-centered!

Thanks everyone.

My knee (and thanks for asking) is doing beautifully! Very successful surgery, and I worship the ground my surgeon walks on. What a neat guy, all around (he's done 5,000 hips and knees; he sits and TALKS to patients, looking them IN THE EYE, answers their questions, smiles and is kind). I'm walking better, going to therapy, taking just a teeny bit of Vicodin these days, 'way down from when I was in the rehab unit. Life is good. I won't be afraid, someday, if I should need the other knee replaced.

Roadsmith, that's wonderful! Soon you'll be playing football.

Double, LoL at Hedda Hopper! (I remember my grandmother always trying to duplicate her hats with all those pheasant feathers and stuff!) I watched a Biography on her and I didn't realize how much power she had as a columnist back then.
