I digress tho...... really, if you were so afraid to bid, you shouldnt bid.......if you are so afraid of the CG's you shouldnt post.
Hell, I might be banned from AW posting tonight for mindless blathering, but ya don't see me whining bout it.

A 2? Really? Huh, I was thinking maybe no points since it resorted to cursing way to early in the game.
However, I've been reading many of KRS's posts so, for me, the bar has been raised.
I did give points for the second ID. Not exactly original, but cute.
Overall, I'd have to say 3.5.

As someone stated much earlier, pull the contact information, and give the seller a call. I don't think you're going to get a better suggestion.

I think the biggest reason to worry here is the feedback rating. Yes, most of us started at 0, but we started out BUYING, not selling. That's not to say that your seller didn't jump right in with both feet first, but it's kind of unusual.
For your own protection, send the letter with the MO via certified mail, return receipt requested. That, in addition to a copy of the cancelled MO, will constitute proof of payment and you'll have TWO signatures of the person taking the money.
The PO Box is really a moot point, and is a good thing, in some respects. As pointed out here, street addresses don't really verify identity, unless you take the time to check them out. Our PO only started home delivery during the past year. Up until then, every person in this town of 2000 people had a PO box. Personal safety is also an issue, because not everyone is comfortable with giving out their home address, and many choose to use a PO box for that reason. The important factor here is that you are using the USPS to deliver the check, which means that if your seller defaults, he is subject to federal mail fraud charges. I'd be more concerned if the seller insisted on using Fed Ex or UPS to deliver the payment, thereby avoiding USPS involvement.
If you're talking a large sum of money, and you're really uncomfortable with the situation, insist on using an escrow service at your expense. However, don't be surprised if the seller tells you to take a walk for not complying with his TOS.

Well since YOU asked here is goes.
If you are nervous about it just got get his sellers information and that should have a phone number on and call. That is what I would do, if I was leery about someone and that is why it is there. It doesn't take to much to figure that out. If you can't contact him or her via phone maybe you have a right to be nervous maybe you don't. Most of the people here on the boards are honest some sellers are not. If you were nervous you knew the terms before you bid. You should have contacted the person BEFORE you bid and got some information.
BTW I have had thousands of transactions both on Yahoo and Ebay both buying and selling. I have been at if for a few years and I don't find these terms that uncommon. I also find a lot that use PO Boxes.
You asked people advice and then when they gave it to you, You didn't like it, so you get a little hot under the collar. If you ask someone advice you may not like what you hear all the time.
This seller didn't do anything you are already imaging that he is going to take off with your 135.00 and having a fit. There were ways you could have avoided this. Like getting their profile ahead of time and calling them like Ebay suggests. You could have e-mailed them ahead of time and got a feel for the seller and ask him questions. There are many things buyers can do to prevent fraud.
There are no guarantees. There are precautions. You say you have been in this for 2 years. Then you should have known to take those precautions if you were concerned. It is your hard earned money as you pointed out and your responabilty. This poor seller that you are making into a fend didn't do anything at this point to deserve this kind of speculation.
As far as being careless you have already been that if you are concerned. People have advised you want to do. I suggest you do it or cancel the transcation.
At this point I would suggest people just stop responding because there is nothing more they can tel you to do and it seems to me your real purpose here is to pick a fight.
Myself I think you are a little over the top. They have an AOL address that is a lot better then a hotmail or the other free web addresses. You have to PAY for AOL and go through a registration process etc. .

I have just gotten out of bed to the same thread I went to bed with. When I entered my mail there were 67 emails from this thread and I still don't understand what he is worried about. It sure did get nasty in here for awhile and I don't see this being resolved. My ISP lets me have different names for email and also every other web site has free email. AOL is the easiest to use when you starting out I think that is why people use it and when they get the hang of things go to an ISP. He should just send his money order so he can complete this auction and if there is something fishy it will then include the USPS. He/she never did say what the amount is and if it is high he/she shouldn't have bid. I have learned a lesson never bid until you read the TOS even if it is an item you want because another one will eventually come along again. That is the good thing about ebay.

Libra -- the amount was $135. *Hardearned.*
I'm having trouble understanding why everyone had such a problem with his concerns. TOS and FB are visible, P.O. Box isn't. The combination plus the amount set off warning bells for him, maybe justified, maybe not. But despite his own bad behavior after being thoroughly trounced by you guys, I think his concerns were quite reasonable. FWIW.

It's always wise to be careful. If he doesn't have an address, ask for his 911 address. Out here in the boonies we have P.O. Boxes and no street numbers but we use our 911 address as a street number and for UPS deliveries.
I, too, have an aol address, a P.O. Box address, multiple name (which I haven't used yet since I haven't put anything in the adult section),but I take checks, does that redeem me? And once upon a time I had a 0 after my name, too.

Isn't there a way to verify with Ebay his legitimacy? If you have a completed transaction you can request his personal data. The address will not be given but the phone number will. Then, you can do a reverse look up. Just a shot. I do not think Ebay allows PO Box addresses for its sellers.

Clevergirl-
If his/her money is hard earned than he/she learned a hard lesson. Look before you Leap. Yes, I understand but bid like that just once and you will never do it again. If
he/she has been selling for 2 years and has come to these boards, there have been many threads about emailing before you bid if you
don't like the TOS but don't bid and then ask. If the information is pulled and the sur names match then the PO box has to be the sellers, if they don't match forget it and write the seller that you can't complete the deal. If the Seller lives in a small to medium town the postal clerks must know him because he/she probably mails his packages there. I feel PO boxes are safe but that is my opinion.
