Please explain what all this ranting has to do with GM opening up a plant in India to sell cars within that country. It is certainly uneconomical for Indians to purchase cars made in the US and there is probably a growing market for autos there. They do manufacture and sell their own Ambassadors there already but that may not be enough to satisfy future demand. If the autos were to be shipped to the US for resale, there might be valid reasons for concern.

I've just ordered a 2006 Sacredcow 454ci, 5 speed and posi with 3:73's.
I ordered the custom Ganesha candy apple red.
Good price, 461,350 Rupees.
I wanted leather interior but they got upset when I asked and said "Holy Cow, I'm standing beside myself. No no no leather.
I do get free slurpees for a year as part of the deal.
I think the India move will work out for everybody.

If Bush had a "legitimate" administration for the American majority so be it. We need to remember Bush DID NOT WIN THE MAJORITY VOTE in America. Bush was appointed.
Now 5 years under Bush and the conservative form of government the U.S. is in a mess.
Again under Bush and the conservative lawmakers in the last 5 years. America now has a bad war,Hugh personal debt,Hugh national debt,Hugh trade imbalances,Air Lines and now car companies going broke,we are over run with illegals.
The conservatives say all is well??? I say all is well for WHO?
You say don't blame it all on Bush. I don't, I also blame it on the conservative lawmakers. After 5 years of having all the power in Washington to make all the laws. Just who should I blame this mess on George Washington?
Now with elections around the corner. I am suppose to believe the same conservative lawmakers that got us in this mess. I am supposed to believe them now when they say they will work and get us out of the mess. LOL
Maybe some people don't mind getting BUSH-WHACKED again. I believe the majority of Americans are going to tell all the Lawmakers.
EITHER WORK FOR US OR GET THE HELL OUT

You know Big, your not that far from Canada, they have a free medical plan and it sounds as if you favor their government a little better then ours. Ever think about making the move north?

What is an "illagles"?
Do you mean illegals? Fenix is right we have done nothing to make things better in Mexico for the Mexican worker and neither has the Mexican government.
You say they are the problem? I say people waiting for government handouts and all the social programs are the problem. At least when these people come here they are willing to work.
Running a small business with family and part time outside help, doesn't mean you understand a huge (not hugh) multinational corporation. You ask for WHO? The stockholders, that is WHO. That is what a company is in business for, to make money for its stockholders. Do you own stock peepa?

The question was answered mingotree, are you a stock holder? He asked for WHO, the stockholders that is WHO.
As a stockholder, I only care about the bottom line and what it will make me, if cutting a few thousand jobs increases my stock value, BETTER FOR ME.

So let's see, peepa doesn't have to pay his stock boy $85/hr because stock boys don't get $85/hr, but GM is not only REQUIRED to, it is their "moral responsibility" to do so.
How do you idiots think and walk around at the same time???

Classic, it's just a simple "yes" or "no" they can add more if they want. I am not even asking if they are making any money with their stocks if they own any.

A client at work has a husband that works for GM. She was telling me about one of their cars (I can't recall which one) where the body is made in KOREA and the engine in CHINA). They ship those parts back here. Must be a real good car! We know that only quality comes from China and Korea. NOT!

GM owns Daewoo. The Chevy Aveo is made in Korea by Daewoo. The Suzuki Vitara is built in Korea also, I believe. Korea also supplies parts (axles, etc, etc) to many makers.
Nothing in America uses a Chinese engine. The Chinese do not have enough mfg capacity for cars to export any. They are desperately seeking mfg to put the Chinese on wheels.
And in looking at the latest JD Power quality surveys, GM would KILL to have the quality ratings of the current Korean car line-ups.

The best selling brand in China is.... Buick.
Manuafactured in China but nevertheless, what is a faltering at best brand in the US is the "it" car there. If I remember right, Buick has 3 of the top five models.

Buick might be the best selling AMERICAN brand in China (240,000) but VW sells about 400,000+ and the Chinese maker Chery sells many times that and is the country's biggest supplier. They are partners with VW and GM. GM may next begin buliding Cadillacs there since Chery and Daewoo have settled a lawsuit amicably.

Someone asked if I am a stock holder. I have said before I only hold gold.
You do as you want. I enjoy gold and better jewelry.
By the way did anyone see Dumbo's speech on the economy today. Pathetic.
While old Dumbo was BULL ROARING AWAY. All one had to do is watch the workers behind him to see they weren't buying any of his BULL ROAR. It truly was pathetic.

Des - just remember seeing a news piece on the Buick and it's incredible popularity there maybe tey meanrt to say US brand but they definately only said brand. It stuck in my head since this was at the same time that word was out that GM was thinking of discontinuing the Buick and Pontiac brands in the US.

Ron and the Conservative Lawmakers think the same.
Ron Said, "As a stockholder, I only care about the bottom line and what it will make me, if cutting a few thousand jobs increases my stock value, BETTER FOR ME."
Just another example why this conservative form of government is GRUMBLING.

Since GM is paying that stockboy $85/hr and peepa feels "compassion" for his employees, but probably pays them chump change, wherein lies the true "oppressor of da 'peep'le".

Sorry comparing my business with G.M. is not going to work. Comparing my business with G.M. is something like desquirrel's failed leader Dumbo would say.
One thing we enjoy about the items we sell is most were made in the U.S.A. They come from a better time in America before NEOCON GREED took over.
NEOCON GREED is another reason this Conservative form of government is grumbling.

Careful there peepa. Besides the oppression skinflints like you wreak on their workers by keeping them in poverty, adding this new streak of Nationalism could propel you to true "fascist oppression of the workers".
