I, also, flipped between Idol, Survivor and the Olympics (women's free skate). I'm watching the Olympics now.

I have taken notes since the first Idol. Although my choice was Clay Aiken (from the audition), instead of Rueben, and I think Latoya London should have won in hers. I simply cannot "watch" some people sing (Clay was one). I had to get past how they looked to how they sounded. I figure I won't look at them anyway...I'll listen to a CD. I cannot watch Bucky, Elliott, and Taylor (iffy). As soon as Taylor Hicks has a CD out, I will own it. Mark said he looked like he was constipated and trying to take a crap. I think Bucky, Chris, Ace and Taylor will be in the final 6...I just haven't figured who else. I cannot stomach Brenna. I adore Kellie Pickler and hope she gets over her nerves. Am I the only one that saw a resemblence between Bobby Bennett and Tim Curry (in the face)?

I have watched Survivor since its "fat naked fag" days. I could have eaten Colby and Ethan right up....yummy!

Whoa! There's way too much estrogen flowing in here. Gotta do something here and fast to stop the estrogen wave occuring in here or before you know it the pink tide will be along and then it will be too late to stop it.

Have any of you ever watched The Man Show? It has got to be one of the funniest comedy shoes I've ever seen.

Then there's the Man Show Juggies, they're the best;

Watch both SG's but think BSG is lame. I was hooked on the Original and just can't get into this one. But took me sometime to get into Babylon5 also.

We could be related maggie. Or just "soulmates"...lol! My mother is from southern coastal Virginia (Hampton) and is the youngest of 10. My father is retired Air Force. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska. My father was born about 15 miles from where I live now in PA.

With all of the falling done in the skating competitions this year you must feel really guilty! I wish that Russian b-word (ice dance or pairs) would have fallen, considering her attitude.

I stop after work and have coffee with a group of retired gentlemen everyday. I could write a book with some of the hunting stories I've heard. Anyway, they all watch Nascar racing and made me pick a driver two years ago. I would feel guilty when there was a wreck as they usually happened when I was getting extremely bored, kinda like I willed something interesting to happen.

I did buy Bo Bice's CD. Easy to listen to. I also just bought the Pussycat Dolls. Mark thinks I'm retarded when I start singing and dancing to "Doncha wish your girlfriend was hot like me....". But that's why he loves me...

What did you think of Idol this week? Except for Chris I thought it was all kind of so-so ....... I was busy with some inventory lists so listened to the performers more than I looked at them and he was the only one that really made me watch from beginning to end.

The good part was that the four who I thought were the worst and the most annoying were voted off.

"I don't watch TV. It's a cultural wasteland filled with inappropriate metaphors and an unrealistic portrayal of life created by the liberal media elite." One of my favourite lines in a TV script...

I was more impressed with the guys on Idol this week than the girls. Chris' performance was, by far, the best. I also agree with the four that left. I, so, disliked Brenna. Now THAT made good TV.

I watch Survivor and Idol and I have to do the flip thing back and forth. I liked Chris the best this week.
Twig. that Brenna didn't stand a chance, not a great voice and an obnoxious personality.
I'd like to see the elf go next, he annoys the crapola out of me.

The girls were boring as hell this week. The guys did much better, but with the exception of Chris and Elliott, none of them has quite gotten song selection down.

I think the girls elimination was perfect (Did anyone actually like Brenna?), as for the guys, I would have rather seen Sway stay. I think he has a much better voice than Chicken Little.

LOL - I thought he looked like he was trying to dodge imaginary ping pong balls. He'll just be happily singing along and then POW!, he's off to the left... Bing, and he didges to the right.... I like his voice but I think his interviews and his manerisms are going to get on peoples nerves after a few weeks.

I don't watch some of them (Taylor, Elliot and Bucky), I just listen. I concentrate of their voice alone. Otherwise, I would try to get past how they look and miss their wonderful voices. I know Taylor while doing those off-side "whoas and heys", which nice, to a limited extent, is out of exuberance, but he did too many of them this week. (Whew! What a sentence!)

I call Chicken Little (aka Keven Covais) Harry Potter.

And what was with Paula? On Tuesday she would get angry with Simon, but look at the camera while she castigated and punched him. If I'm punching someone, I look at them. So much for any publicity is good publicity. Last night I think she was "on something".

I hate flipping back and forth on Thursdays. I always miss something. It should be over in another week or so. I hope...

Twig, you're right Paula looked drunk!

Taylor's music style is my favorite..just can't watch him. But I think Chris is more salable.

I wonder if Paula is back on the pain meds? She was more than a bit loopy last night. You know it's bad when Ryan Secrest is telling you to get with it.

Twig - you gotta watch Bucky at least for a few. I think he is the one that is going to be going thru the biggest "make-over". You can't miss the evolution of Bucky's style

Maggie - you are right about Chris - I'm just not sure if he's as marketable as a solo artist. He strikes me much more as a frontman kind of guy. Great voice though. He's the kind of guy that they are going to love marketing. It'll be interesting to see how his voice carries thru the theme weeks.

Anyone wanna take bets on how long it takes before we start seeing Ace beanies on ebay

I don't like Ace. He reminds me of Constantine? spelling? from another idol.
I don't like baby face men. And he acts like a phony.
Bucky is good, but hard to look at with his bucky teeth! LOL

I like Ace but am quickly going to abandon that if he doesn't improve his song selection. Personally I think he is better looking than Constantine. Constantine was a bit too contrived.

As for Bucky - I love that voice. I wish they would let viewers make song selections. Am I the only one that thinks of songs they want to hear certain contestants sing? I ususally have a half a dozen in mind by now but right now only three.
Bucky - turn the Page (Bob Seger)
Chris - Heaven (Live)
Paris - Feelin Good (Nina Simone) - With her background, I'm dying to find out if she can scat.

Just caught the new season of Spooks (or MI-5 in the USA) and it's a ripper. All the old main characters are dead or hiding under new identities abroad. A bunch of US terrorists are blowing up buildings around London and there's a mole amongst them... edge of the seat stuff.

My prediction for this week's departees is:

girls- Kannik Sky and Katherine McPhee

guys- Kevin Covais and Will Makar

I thought the female performers did better this week than last time with Kellie and Mandisa standing out from the rest. I don't think Paris or Lisa have found the right songs yet and Katharine is beginning to annoy me now because she seems to think she's the best but so far she is boring.

Ace is a disappointment as I expected more from him after the first night. Gedeon has a much better voice than Kevin but Kevin must be riding on that granny vote after all or a sympathy vote. Kellie, the "minx" has a father who is in a Florida prison and has some of the inmates rooting for her.

I agree, kiara. I think the girls were much better than last week.

I was amazed Taylor could stand still as long as he did....lol!

fenix- I did watch Bucky this week. He's doing better, much better.

Well, my predictions were off. But Kevin Covais should have gone. I would rather see him in a few years, I think he will have an amazing voice when he's a little older. I was up in the air between Ayla and McPhee.

I was surprise Ayla went. I was thinking it would be Melissa. With the guys, I agree that Kevin should not have made it to the top 12 but I think he'll probably be gone this week. He does not have the voice to pull of Stevie Wonder or the maturity to know how to switch the song up so that his voice will fit it.

I think Ace will be able to pull it off, but there is something about him that annoying me so I don't really care. Bucky has been performing long enough that I think he may be able to pull it off depending on the song. the rest of the guys should sail thru this week.

As for the girls... Kellie is quickly annoying me. She's either dumb as a rock or she's trying to be the AI answer to Jessica Simpson.

The only three I really enjoy listening to are Paris (but that's going to lessen soon if she doesn't start finding some better songs.) Lisa (Although I wish she would start doing something more upbeat) and Mandisa (there is nothing bad to say about her. She can sing, she's got great personality and she picks good songs)

I think Katharine and Melissa will be the first two casualties unless one of the guys really screws up.

I felt bad for Ayla when she started to tear up and then she sung her heart out....... that must have been tough. Bucky did really well this time and hopefully improved his chances of staying longer.

Fenix, I don't think Kellie is all that innocent and not nearly as talented as Mandisa. It makes me wonder how much room there is for semi-talented cutesy bimbos before people get tired of them.

But I'll buy Taylor's CD when/if he puts one out, he reminds me of Joe Cocker.

Kiara - you should check out the AI boards sometime. Those are some real winners. Unbelievable number of people that think she should win becaue she has the hardest luck story of all the contestants.

As for Ayla - I get the feeling this is the first time she has not succeeded at something. Didn't take it well.

Look for Simon to be a bigger SOB than usual this season. He said in an interview that he wants to get a rise out of people. He sick of them saying "thank you" when he flays them.
