Hi featherwings,
Please send me the information to [email protected]. The only reason I could see an item being reversed is if the bank receiving the funds rejected it.I can have someone look at this matter for you in an expeditious manner.

THANK YOU DAMON !!
I WANT ALL TO KNOW THAT DAMON HAS HELPED ME FIX MY PROBLEM!!
THE PROBLEM WAS THAT FOR SOME REASON, I HAD LISTED TWO BANK NUMBERS. ONE DID NOT INCLUDE THE LAST TWO DIGITS OF MY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER. I DON'T RECALL ENTERING MY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBERS TWICE, BUT WHEN I WAS A NEWBIE I MUST HAVE GOTTEN NERVIOUS. SOME WHERE ALONG THE LINE, I MUST HAVE SWITCHED THE PRIMARY NUMBER FROM THE RIGHT ONE, TO THE INCORRECT ONE.
THE PROBLEM WAS NOT PAYPALS FAULT, IT WAS MY VERY OWN!!
I AM VERY SORRY PAYPAL!
DAMON RESPONDED VERY VERY QUICKLY WITH VERY VALUABLE INFORMATION! HE WAS EXTREMELY PLEASANT.
I WILL CONTINUE TO BE A PAYPAL SUPPORTER.
FROM MY DIRECT DEALINGS WITH DAMON, IT IS MY ASSUMPTION THAT HE IS NOT THE BAD GUY IN THE MYST OF ALL THE PAYPAL CONFUSION AND FRUSTRATION!
BUT THAT IS JUST MY OPINION. I KNOW MANY WILL NOT AGREE AND I DO UNDERSTAND!

Recently I needed to deal with Damon.
I found him to be very helpful and very quick to respond and aid in resolving the problem. It turns out that the problem was on my end and not Paypal's. Damon was very pleasant and went out of his way to help.
I am beginning to think the man is being a target in a shooting contest. Lets all realize that it is Paypal as a company that you are angry with and not Damon. He is trying to do his job the best way that we allow him too.
Think about what it would be like to be in his shoes for just a moment. Hummmm not a very nice thought is it? He does not make all the corporate decisions, but ends up being directly blamed and severly insulted for everything! Lets give the poor guy a break!! He certainly deserves it after all we have put him through!

featherwings,
Please understand that it is PayPal that puts Damon in the position of target.
He is put out on these boards as PayPal's ambassador -- sometimes to render aid, often to put PayPal's spin on an issue.
It's really very smart on the part of companies that have these "ambassadors."
It links a human name and personality with a cold, corporate entity so when trouble arises, people who've come to relate to the person are more likely to forgive the company.
I don't envy Damon his job. It does come with a very big two-edged sword. It's never easy being a member of the spin patrol.

Both abacaxi and the other paypal apologists, probably make a living bending over and letting other entities (corporate or otherwise) shaft them. So, I'm sure, that to them, this latest ripoff by Paypal doesn't seem too bad. My advise to anyone, who is not dealing big time in the auctions, is to tell Paypal to kiss'em where the sun don't shine and go back to taking just money orders and checks. Yes, it may take a little longer, but you won't have to pay the new exorbitant fees, or risk having your assetts seized for some "admionistrative" reason.
Folks, beccome radicals. Don't expect corporations to be moral or fair. Their business is to suck everything out of you that they can, make shareholders happy, and make big bucks that allow their top executives to buy expensive p***y in Vegas. In my opinion, anything any person does against a corporation is valid and moral, because believe me, they have no morality... none...zero. Ever tried to resolve a dispute and gotten stuck at "customer service", who can only read you the script? Ever tried to go up a level to complain and been told send an email or fax, which is never answered.
People, these companies have bought the politicians, who pass laws in their favor. Then they turn around and tell you to go through "channels." Wake up, there are no channels. That big sucking sound you hear is Paypal..and their ilk.

I AM IN THE SAME SITUATION
My PayPal account is restricted for 3 weeks, for “administrative reasons”. I never got respond to my emails, I called couple of time to the support line, they tried to transfer my call to account review department but that department was never available, and never called me back.
PayPal is holding my money, I lost couple of deals, and I’m loosing reputation.
Is anyone here that had the same situation and solved the problem could help me, I’ll be appreciate.

this happened to me about 3 months ago.
Someone paid me for a laptop computer for 2000.00 via paypal.com from an ebay auction. After I clicked withdrawal, I then waited until the status of my withdrawal said completed. I then shipped the computer.
2 days later, paypal.com froze my account, and seized all 2000.00, AFTER I HAD ALREADY MAILED THE GUY THE LAPTOP! Apparently he used a stolen credit card to make payment...
All in all, I did receive the money back from paypal.com, but it took nearly 2 months, about 200 emails, and about 25 phone calls.
Let me know what u think of this #*!@'!

I am one of those who is on the list to get one of the PS2's that are promised before Christmas for prepaying using PayPal. This means that you can not get the money from paypal and I will not get a PS2 for my kids.
I thought that it was great that there may be a retailer in this world that is honest and straight forward as to sell the machines at a fair price and not the userous auction prices that get inflated to obscene prices. If I don't get one this year for xmas I guess it will be like the "Tickle me Elmo" and the "Furby". I will get one eventually for them and pay a fair price. Just not this year again during the feeding frenzy. We waited in line about 3 hours to get one on the first day but we about 3-5 people after they ran out. I am just frustrated that half or more of the people that were in line to buy PS2's were talking about how much they were going to be able to sell them for. I just wanted to buy one to keep.Oh well...Thanks for listening. I just wanted to get a little frustration off my chest.

I to am a PS2 purchaser, who only wanted it for my son's Christmas. That was his Christmas, along with 2 games and a memory card, now who knows what I'm supposed to do? I'm a single mom who saw a good deal and was tired of those pre purchasers trying to rip me off by soliciting them to me through my email trying to get me to pay over $500.00 for one. and was also outraged at the people buying them to sell them for more in auctions. USA huh, well let freedom ring, gonna be a great christmas at this house

PayPalDamon,
I have used PayPal in the past to pay for many auctions won upon Ebay, and as with the previous two posts have also recently paid for a Playstation 2 using PayPal. The company has declared that PayPal has seized and frozen their account for a 'pending investigation'. Now, they declare they guarentee delivery by December 15th, but, with this latest stunt of PayPal's, that's uncertain now. As I have over $300 currently deposited in said account, could you give us an update please? Is this account unfrozen as yet? If not, when will it be?
Looking forward to your reply, which hopefully will be quite soon.

I too tried to buy a PS2 from ps2cart.com. We'll see what happens with getting my money back or a PS2.
I also noticed that paypal will no longer be guaranteeing full refunds to buyers who buy from a verified seller. Now it is just how much they can recover, and on a first come first serve basis, this really stinks. I'll bet it is because of these Playstation 2 people
As for the two people who are lamenting that they didn't get a playstation 2 and are upset with the people making some money on ebay. This is America, home of the capitalist, where supply and demand rule. If you don't like it get out. I have one and I intend to make as much money as possible on it. Unlike the earlier poster, I stayed in line ALL NIGHT to get it, so as they say the Early Bird gets the worm, and he also has the right to make money on it too.

your absolutely right, the US is about screwin the next person and making money off the poor sucker who hasn't got as much time on his hands as you. I had tried really hard to find a PS2, but I work for a living and don't have all day to sit on the net and find a good deal, and sorry for believeing there had to be some honest people left, not just crooks. Excuse me, my mistake.

Actually, I was also on the way to place order for PS2 at www.ps2cart.com. But, at last minute, I decided to walk away. Becasue I just can't convince myself that I am dealing with the legitimate bussiness. First, in my opinion, a retailer which can make such promise, must be relativly a large company. Surprisingly, Game Tex carry only PS2 product. Not even the origianl PS product or Dreamcast could be found. Second, www.paypel.com are normally used for transacition between private people. When dealing with a big company but using Paypel for payement, it just doesn't make sense to me. I just can not take the explantion of reaching number of credit transaction limit because I never heared this could happened. Well, I think we all know how many people are out there who wish to get the new PS2. Therefore, if we take this number, multiply by 349.99, I think you can figure out easily how much money are behind it. Even though Game Tex decide to refund after Dec 15, think about how much interest could be generate through bank alone. Anyway, there is nothing wrong for people at EBAY who wish to make money from selling PS2 at higher price. But, making money from making phoney promise is just not right.

In response to lpotter, I too work for a living, I work an 8 to 5 job just like many other schmoes. I stood in line all night in front of my Walmart so I could get one of these, so why shouldn't I be compensated for my time? I am not screwin (your word not mine) anyone, because they are paying for it, I am not forcing them to pay the prices that they are offering. You obviously are smarter than these people and will wait until you can get one at a reasonable price. I felt it was worth a night in the cold and rain to get one of these because I knew that there would be some dot-commer who felt it better to pay a high price than spend his time waiting in line or searching stores. If you want to blame somebody blame the people that are willing to pay these prices. Lastly I would like to defend myself from your use of the word crook. I am an honest person who gave up some of my time to get one of these. My daughters are too young to enjoy a PS2 or I would have kept it for them. They will enjoy the presents that I can get for them with the money that I will make for spending a night in line at the store. By the way, the Walmart opened at 7 so I didn't even miss any work to get it.
In response to the GameTek thing, they are now saying that they are going to ship you a PS2 by the date promised, even with the paypal snafu. This was posted on their site today.

Yes, I know, for that night in the rain you will make from $200.00 to $300.00. I think that is smart, but for a single parent who just wants to make her son happy at christmas, and who also doesn't make alot of meney, it makes it difficult to get one at the same price you purchased it. I come from a real small town, and stood next to no chance of obtaining one at retail. I'm not saying what you do is wrong, but it sure does make it hard on us with children and not alot of money. Personally, if I had the extra two to three hundred dollars, I would pay it to be able to give my son what he wants for Christmas, guess I should have found a Walmart and camped outside also, but not being very big I'm sure I still wouldn't have stood much of a chance of getting one But, back to the real subject, Sales@Ps2cart, what am I supposed to do now? I work from 7:30 in the morning till 5:00 at night, Monday through Friday, so how do I go about finding the time to fight to get my money back so I can atleast have a Christmas of sorts in MY house?

To be honest I don't know why anyone would be asking for a refund yet. PS2Cart has said that they will not begin shipping until Dec 1st. That is still 4 weeks away. The real question that needs to be asked is how are they going to ship the Playstation 2's? Will there be a tracking number provided and will the package be insured? I can just imagine getting the email from PS2cart when the package doesn't show up..'Do to circumstances beyond our control we have no idea where you package is, the shipping company must have it....call them.' LOL.

December 1st? Funny, when I emailed them approximately a week ago I got an email back saying that they didn't have a date yet but would let me know, and they've got MY money! lol! No, not funny, but have a feeling things are going to get interesting with this one....

I was another person who sent gametek money through paypal for the playstations. I ordered 3. I was mad as hell when I got their email. I sent them an email explaining that they needed to fix the situation and not the customer. I tried calling the 2 numbers listed and the mail box was full. I included my home phone number with the email I sent on Fri. night. I got a call from them last night(Sat.) and was able to ask some questions. I felt better about the situation having talked with them. They said the PS2 systems will ship out on Dec. 1. I am going to wait and see. They told me that they were going to deal with paypal directly. I did call paypal fri night and they wouldn't help at all. My views on paypal have changed a bit, having lost over 600.00 2 months before on a scam. They said they couldn't do anything either then. That's my 2 cents

I too purchased one of the ps2cart playstation 2's. I also called paypal & they said that I had to contact the seller & get my money from them. Paypal couldn't refund my account. The more I hear, paypal seems like a problem. However, when you pay on a credit card, you usually have 30 days from trasaction date to get money back. So December 1 is 30 days from when I paid (November 1). Should I call my CC company & set up an investigation or not? Should I believe that ps2cart is going to send out PS2 as promised on December 1? The final odd question I have, why December 1 are they going to ship? It would seem that they will be getting PS2 all the time, so they should be shipped as they are received.

To lpotter, I'm sorry I didn't understand that you were in the ps2cart boat as well. Have you checked their latest explanation? Check the link from my post before. I also just saw a post saying that someone got a call from them, which is a good sign I guess.
To kram12, you don't have to answer this if you don't want to, but how did you lose money through paypal. Did you pay money to unverified sellers? Just curious to see how there buyer protection works.
To anyone, I am confused about how you go about invoking the buyer protection that paypal offers when paying a verified seller such as GameTek (or [email protected]). I read their website and I seemed to understand that you have to file a fraud report within 30 days, then you have to ask for your money back no sooner than 30 days and no later than 60 days. Does this sound correct? Can anyone clarify this?. What about on items that you pay for, but aren't promised to you until a later date, ala Gametek.
Any help would be appreciated.
While I'm here I have to rant on paypal and all their recent policy changes. It really reminds me of the way drug dealers work. Give the stuff away, make it easy and pleasant to use, and then when they are hooked start sticking it to them. I love the convenience of paypal, and I have to admit I think I'm hooked no matter how much I hate what they are doing, it is so much easier than dealing with going to the bank every lunch hour to deposet Checks and Money Orders. I will start looking into their competitors though, anyone have a list of other payment services to switch to?

More from the ps2cart wagon...
It actually makes me feel real good that some people have actually been able to get ahold of the company. I've been a bit skeptical from the start, but because of PayPal's "No Fraud Guarantee!" I decided to go ahead and do it.
Of course, PayPal changed their goddamn TOS about three days after I placed my order.
However, the 30 day thing is wrong. I know it is, because I asked myself the same question- "How do I claim a loss if the thing isn't supposed to ship for 40+ days?"
I could sware the ORIGINAL, full text of this guarantee included a small statement- 30 days from purchase / or in case of preorders 30 days from scheduled time of delivery.
Course, I didn't make a copy of this, figuring that no HONEST money company could just go and change their rules un-announced, and all. Hell, my bank gave me 6 months written notice when they were just going to change the NAMES of the various checking accounts. I didn't even find out about PayPal changing their entire TOS until looking at it again after reading posts here.
Would this PayPalDamon fella' happen to have access to the original text?
posted on November 5, 2000 02:13:42 PM new
If you are referring to my post earlier regarding 30 days - I was talking about your Credit Card payment not Paypal. With Credit Cards, you have 30 days to dispute the charge.
posted on November 5, 2000 02:28:13 PM new
Yes, I do believe that the original wording was that it was 30 days from payment, or in the case of a preorder from ship date, but I too did not print a copy. Any one have a copy of the original TOS, possibly Damon.
Also, since you made payment before they changed their TOS you are covered under the original TOS, if we can only find a copy of it.
I still would like some clarification on how do to go about getting my money back. If I have to file a fraud report now to guarantee that I can file for a reimbursement later than I will go ahead and do it.
Damon, any clarification on this?
I would also like to know if this ps2cart thing is what caused paypal to rethink their money back guarantee?

I also ordered a ps2 from ps2cart.com...I don't believe any of us should worry at all. The first email from the company scared me a little when they said they froze the acount, but I have been reading about problems like this all over, and usually the case is that the person either entered their password wrong too many times in a row, or someone payed with a faulty credit card. Also gametek said they are sending the ps2's anyways, so we don't need to worry at all...the only people that need to worry are the gametek people, and I still believe they have nothing to worry about. The paypal people will deal with this problem, probably immediately, but they will deal with it when people are there. No one there works on weekends....so wait till monday folks!
