Please feel free to close this thread - if you're thinkin it's gettin to be a little much. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is tired of being judged for what I think is funny.
Oh, one last thing though:
You might be a redneck if:
You think a stock tip is advice on worming your hogs.
You think possum is the other white meat.
Taking your wife on a cruise means circling the Dairy Queen.
You believe dual air bags refer to your wife and mother-in-law.
You think fast food is hitting a possum at 65 mph.
Someone ask to see your i.d. and you show them your belt buckle.

Sorry mybiddness--maybe that is why Foxworthy, Firestone and Rock make the big bucks--no personal slight intended---but they connect to our funny bones. There is just that slight difference between humor and angst--they caught it--your one liners don't. JMHO

jeanyu - Point taken AND respected. The comedians you mention do make fun of their own life experiences, and I've noticed that in this thread, the people posting the jokes are admittedly Rednecks themselves. You said what I was trying to express to you. Did you ever watch Def Comedy Jam on HBO? Black commedians, completely debasing their own race in a VERY funny way, to a predominantly black audience, and the house ROARS!!! When the errant "white" person is spotted in the audience, boy does the comedian have fun with them, but I do not write to HBO complaining about it, cuz it is what it is, a joke.
There are things that I find funny that other people I know don't, and so goes it. We all have different ideas and tastes in what we deem funny, some are more leniant than others, but that doesn't make any of us wrong, just "differently opinionated", if you will. Blatant bigotry I can not tolerate, but a Redneck joke? Far, far from THAT line.
