If you are using Outlook Express for your email, you can find where the messages are stored by doing this:
From within Outlook Express, click the Tools, Options, then Maintanance tab. You'll see a Store Folder button, click that, and it will show you where your email and news messages are stored. There are some specific things you need to do to backup your files and restore them on another system. I suggest making sure you are aware of the process before you begin. I'll try to find the correct Knowledge Base article for you to print out with the details.
To install IE on another computer, you'll do best to either get hold of a cd with it on, or connect to the net and download it to that computer. The install for IE is done usually through an Active Setup process, which could mean that the actual download is not on your system.

Thanks Meya for the help. My other system is win 95, but I think you are right--it has an old version of Internet Explorer on it. I could just update it.
Mainly, I wanted to save the emails and move them my other system. Before I do this, I will wait to see if you come up with a knowledge base to show me how.
Thanks for the help,
Dick

My previous post has the Knowledge Base article url in it to show you how to back up and restore your mail. I would read through it once or twice and make sure you understand it before deleting anything for good.

OK [Meya], I found the file where you said it would be by using toos, etc. Now I'm going to read the link you provided.
Thanks again.

If you download IE5.5, be sure to download the installation file to your hard drive and do the installation locally. DO NOT do the "Install from the Web" routine. If you do and the installation fails for any reason before it finishes, you're basically screwed.
