Anyone still watching American Inventor? If o, who are your favorites?
I still like the sandbag scoop/filler but now i have three favs - that, the child seat (what a brilliant idea) and the bike.
I like the kid. I don't know that he will win or that he should win but I think the journey will be a great learning experience. That's a big idea and a lot to learn. I was kind of rooting for the other kid too but how much do you really learn from molded plastic.

Fenix, I missed the last two weeks of Inventor but saw some of it last evening where they chose the final twelve. My favorites are the ones that you also chose so I will be rooting for them. Not only do I think they have the best inventions, I like their personalities and their sincerity.
Now that it's gone to another stage where they have the money to develop their inventions further I think the show will become more interesting.

Well, I thought everyone did well...it'll be interesting to see who is in the bottom 3. I loved Taylor last night. Kellie started out well and, well, I don't know what happened. No matter who goes, I see everyone with a career in music. I wondered if they had help with song choice this week.
Paris was in her genre.
Mark and I think Kellie should be in a sitcom. Mark said "Kellie is so blond her roots are white". We both agree she is not dumb, just ignorant. She's probably never been anywhere or done anything far from "Hicksville", so how would she know what calamari is? Or how to pronounce salmon? You can go on and on...

Or the term "on Paper", or "Minx" ......
I was not looking forward to this week but I thought everyone did good job too. Finally someone mentioned Elliott's lack of personality in his vocals. I think that may have been his swan song.
Chris was great, better than I thought he would be coming in to the show this week.

Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

I can't believe that Chris and Paris were in the bottom 3. That just makes no sense to me.
Ace being gone does although I thought this was one of his better weeks.
Next week is going to be a train wreck. The commercialization of the show is getting ridiculous. Watch, next seaon each week will not only be backed by a record label trying to push an upcoming release but fashion designers as well ... each week the contestants will not only sing in a specific theme, but dress in it too.

I think Paris was the best this week and she looked good too so I was surprised to see her in the bottom three. Ace was good (finally) but it was too late for him..... I thought Elliot would be one of the bottom ones. Kellie should have been there for sure as she was terrible.

Ace should have gone a few weeks ago. He just held on a little longer.
Kellie will go in the next few weeks.
Elliott will not win it. He will go soon also.
I think Chris' fans thought he was safe. (Just as Mandisa's fans thought she was.)
The final four SHOULD be: Chris, Taylor, Katharine and Paris.
But the voting will determine who ends up there. I think I will start voting next week. I'd like to see Taylor in the finale.
Kellie, Elliott and Katharine's fans thought they may be in danger of leaving and made an effort to vote, and vote often. It's the only explanation I can come up with for Chris being in the bottom.
bebe- If I was 25 years younger I'd be too young. (But I was single!) I like where I am now.... ....But it would be tempting!
fenix- I "watched" with Mark (on the phone). We noticed that the number of stars offering assistance to the contestants were stars in the 70's making a "comeback". (Currently in Vegas, or making a compilation album of songs that aren't theirs.) Only there to promote what they are doing at the moment, as they do on talk shows and such. Rod Stewart never did a whole lot for me, although girls I knew at the time got moist when they heard him sing.

Kiara - did you watch Inventor? What did you think?
Personally I would have voted Mark out too. He was way to hard headed. To be fair though, I do think that someone should have explained why the suggested changes needed to be made. That product cannot be sold at a price that justifies, shipping, storage and shelf space for something that big. The handle should have telescoped out and the shovel end should be hinged so that when colapsed it's a third of the size... and maybe a clip to hold the sand bag. He was too single minded. The woman in the focus group who talked about using it for leaves was brilliant!
The packaging design sucked too... should have been color with photos.
I tlike the guy that was selected to go forward - how ironic would it be if the winner of both Inventor type shows in this vein were football related.

Who watched the Miss USA pagent? The people that did the casting really missed the boat. Very disappointed with the choice of presenters. Why in the world would they pair Drew and Mary together. The same with the other two. Both were mismatched. The gay guy was really good his partner was a dud. Mary was really tall and Drew very short.
Now I am not to excited about American Idol but I did watch the inventor and I think the sandbag shovel should have won last night.
The idea for the bike is great but not original. It is the same idea as the young kids do in Green Bay and I imagine in other NFL cities. During football season the young kids bring their bikes to Lambeau Field and have the player peddle their bike to the Don Hutson Center where they practice and have the kids riding on the handle bars. Some bikes have those extenders on the front wheel.

KIara - he was so damn hard headed. His "mentor" told him that when he meyt with the design team to be open to their suggestions and changes. He said he would, but in the same way that kids Yes Sir their principal. You just knew it wasn't going to be good. Then he goes into the meeting and shot down every single idea saying that the product needed no changes and then fired them. At the end he added a jerry rigged strap. Very cheap & trashy looking. He spent $2500 on a suit to wear to his pitch and maybe $5.00 on the strap for the actual product he was pitching.
He's got a great product and if he'll bother to listen to someone, he'll make some good money on it but I really do understand why they didn't put him through. You have a package that is about 3 feet tall, probably 18" wide & 15" deep. Even when they are not in the packaging they have to pack individually. With the handles you can't even stack them like cups to save space. Can you imagine the storage space on a production run of those things? Or the container space if they are produced overseas?
He seems to have forgotten that in between the inventor and the consumer there are distributors and retailers and they want to actually be able to make money on products that they sell. The big problems was that he was completely unwilling to listen to the people who are experts on exactly the things he had failed to consider.
The guy with the reciever vest on the other hand was completely open to suggestions, and made massive improvements on his product both design and appearance wise. There is still a big fin coming out of the wearers chest but now it looks like a high tech fin Rather than acting like he knew everything he went in with an "I know my product but you know how to get it to market" attitude and it paid off for him.

Libra - I have not watched that in years. Just got too cheesy for me.
I really like the bike but I odn't seeing it winning either. I've never seen that type of thing that has actually been manufactured and marketed but i also think that they are looking for mass marketing possibilities and I don't see that the bike has it. I just think it's amazing that someone that young and focused is being given the opportunity to see what goes into getting something from his concept to a marketed product. Imagine what he's going to be able to do with his next idea...
BTW - Was I the only person that was yelling at the woman with the "Charachter Building Bear" that the only thing she needed as a come back to the "it's not mass marketable" arguement they were giving her was to mention "Build-A-Bear Workshop"?

Idol reviews
The TV is in the other room so I am going just on vocals, no visuals
Katherine - Pitchy was right, not strong. Why was she trying to do Whitney? For five years people have been trying to do Whitney and I don't think anyone has pulled it off. It only serves to accentuate their weakness.
Elliot - maybe the trick is to not watch him. this was the first time I liked him
Kelly - David Foster nailed it. That song can be really boring. Glory note aside, the rest was flat out bad.
Paris - you know, I was wrong those early weeks. I kept looking at this young girl and thinking she should do young songs. She has an amazing mature voice and the songs that highlight it are older songs done by older artists. Not fair to expect her to take backward steps.
Taylor - I want to hear him do a Michael McDonald song (OK - I want to hear him do What a Fool Believes). I think the dynamics were off on this one tonight. It was like an emotionless love song.
Chris - Went in with low expectations and was completely blown away. Far and away the best performance of the night.
Bottom three....Kelly and Katherine and maybe Taylor but probably Elliot. I don't think his fan base is big enough to pull him up.

Too bad you didn't see Katharine tonite, Fenix. She did have pitch problems but it was funny watching her show off ALL her cleavage and her leg when she was really putting on an act trying to show emotion. Her Dad is so obsessed with her and they always show him bawling but tonight with her showing off her body like that it was kind of weird and I was wondering what he really thought.
Elliot sounded great and he even looked good tonight and I didn't mind watching him at all. He's real and I like him. Hey, he made Paula cry and Simon said he was superb. Woo Hoo!
Kellie's 'blonde' and she sucks. Geez, that was terrible! Good!
I agree Paris has an amazing voice and she looked good tonight. Her voice doesn't match her young looks but Simon dismissed her too quickly.
Taylor sounded really off and he looked nervous too, especially when he started ....... he bored me.
Elliot was my favorite tonite ........ until I heard Chris. WoW! Hard to beat that one and I truly loved it!
I hope Kellie gets the boot because she is definitely the bottom one when it comes to talent but maybe Paris will?

Good Morning!
Katharine- It wasn't bad....the guys probably liked it alot!
Elliott- He didn't look that bad last night. I did watch him for most of the performance, but he's the one I never watched. I thought he did very well, based on voice, great song choice. One of the best!
Kellie- It's her time. But I still like the girl!
Paris- If she makes it through this week, I'm going to try not watching her. Her voice and looks don't match. I think I'm concentrating more on her looks than her voice.
Taylor- Started out Ok...ended better. He seemed uncomfortable. Overall, I liked it. Should be bottom 3, based on tonight.....but I hope not.
Chris- Best of the night!
Bottom three- KELLIE, Katharine and Paris

Classic - Re:24 - Am I the only one disappointed with this season?
This whole plane thing is just annoying the hell out of me. Planes that size cannot take off from Van Nuys Airport, there is absolutely no reason that an air martial would be on a privately chartered flight, there is no way that everyone on a chartered flight would be complete strangers to each other and there is no way in hell they would shoot down a large plane approaching Van Nuys Airport which is surrounded by residential neighborhoods (many of which house shooting locations for the porn industry..... that got your attention didn't it!).
I just wish Jean Smart would grab somebody's gun and kill her damn huusband already.

Elliott -
On Broadway - Not bad. Maybe a bit too much vocal olympics but not bad.
Home - (can I just say now home amazingly appropriate that the future lounge singer picked the current god of lounge singers to cover) Kind of a hard song to screw up. Also hard song to remember.
Paris -
Kiss - Not alot of her personality in that one but a good performance.
Be Without You - Nice job but not something that highlighted her strengths.
Chris -
Renegade - Pefect song for him. Really good. A couple bad notes but overall it was good. I love that song!
I Dare you - A little screachier than should have been but not a bad job.
Katherine -
What's with the bondage dress? I love it but it's so not Katherine. Oh god, I hate this song. EWWWWWWW Bad note... OOOPS...Nother one. Blah song and made it truly boring. ack... another bad note.
Black Horse in the Cherry Tree - Get off the floor woman! Music was infinately more interesting that the lyrics and the vocals were boring and I still have no idea why she sung it on her knees. (Should have done Stupid Girls)
Taylor -
Play that Funky Music.... Does it get anymore perfect? Great when just listened to, even better when watched.
Something (he reached to find that one on a chart) Great, fantastic, wonderful.
Bottom two should be Katherine and Elliot. Say Bye Bye to Elliot.
