Calif. Woman Spanked at Work Sues for $1.2M
By JULIANA BARBASSA, Associated Press Writer Wed Apr 26, 10:58 PM ET
FRESNO, Calif. - Lawyers for a woman who was spanked in front of her co-workers as part of what her employer said was a camaraderie-building exercise asked a jury Wednesday for at least $1.2 million for the humiliation she claimed to have suffered.
Janet Orlando, 53, quit her job at the home security company Alarm One Inc. in Fresno and sued, alleging discrimination, assault, battery and infliction of emotional distress.
Employees were paddled with rival companies' yard signs as part of a contest that pitted sales teams against each other, according to court documents. The winners poked fun at the losers, throwing pies at them, feeding them baby food, making them wear diapers and swatting their buttocks.
"No reasonable middle-aged woman would want to be put up there before a group of young men, turned around to show her buttocks, get spanked and called abusive names, and told it was to increase sales and motivate employees," her lawyer, Nicholas "Butch" Wagner, said in his closing argument.
Lawyers for Alarm One, an Anaheim-based, 300-employee company, said the spankings were part of a voluntary program to build camaraderie and were not discriminatory because they were given to both male and female workers.
"This is being done for one reason and one reason only — money," said K. Poncho Baker, the company's lawyer.
Alarm One officials ceased the practice in 2004, the year Orlando sued, after another employee complained of being injured, according to court records.

voluntary program
It sounds like it wasn't her employer but the opposing company. Why not sue them then. Well evidently they had done that before and no doubt she knew what would happen so why didn't she quit instead of participate?
Just a lawyer trying to make a name for himself.

Get over it crowfarm it was voluntary and she could have backed out of it. Did it say anything in there that it is manditory? She claims it was an assault. Then why didn't she sue the other company. Her company didn't do the assault. Did you read the same article I did. If they had won would she have sued? If they had won would she have been the one using a yard sign? It wasn't an assault it was a game that they played.

Send her a copy of Secretary with James Spader (Boston Legal) to perk her up. Loads of spanking action in a friendly office atmosphere

Didnt see anywhere that she was tied down & forced to submit, if she didnt approve of what was going on, she should have left.
I see this as a preplanned method of collecting undeserved cash.

What else does kiara have to do with her life....other than continue getting her 'kicks' here.
And then slamming/reprimanding others IF they mention a thing about sex. Prudes often take that route....as do those women who are frigid. I can easily see her that way...most definately.
tsk tsk tsk
And she also LOVES
continuing to fantasize about the lives of others....since it appears she doesn't have a nice one of her own.
It's pityful I tell you....pityful.

Once again I posted a popular story from Yahoo News today that is a real story and not a fantasy and the old bags get all uptight and start to tsk tsk in disgust.
I don't think I have ever posted anything here about spanking before. Amazing that little tidbits of news can cut some of you so very deeply. I truly hope you can sleep tonight and that this hasn't damaged your narrow little minds even more. Perhaps you should all pray once again and hold tight to your bloomers.

Besides it is a 2 year old law suit. Did she just quit recently still collecting money from a company that she thought treated her was poorly?

You post a controversial story on a discussion board and you expect everyone to agree with it? Something as stupid as that article. And yes stupid it is but it will probably win.

Mingo, they all sound drunk. I posted the article about a woman in California and her lawsuit..... with no comments whatsoever yet one dried up old jealous hag accuses me of having fantasies while she's sitting there writing fantasies about how she imagines my sex life to be and the other assumes just because I posted the article that I expect everyone to agree with it.

You posted the comment Kiara so get over it. If you didn't want comments directed to you then you should have never posted it. You had a method to your madness and it caught up with you. If you don't want us to comment don't start the thread. It is as easy as that.
Then of course your co-heart crowfarm who came over from OTWA to stalk me had to put her two cents worth in. That is about all she can afford since she lost part of her pay.

Gee Libra , you just can't "get over" me(BTW,do you think you could come up with something a little less trite than a constant barrage of "get over it", or are you as brain dead as you appear?).
I see your nasty self takes great delight in the mis-fortunes of others (maybe your corset is too tight) . But I will have to dis-appoint you...at my age a salary cut doesn't matter much and I will be retiring comfortably soon. But I'm glad you're delighted that much younger people with children, mortgages, insurance, heat, groceries, clothes to buy and other expenses are having a hard time with their wages cut.....there!.... That should put a smile on that pinched old face of yours....people suffering!
P.S. I think you need a good spanking
What a lovely person you aren't

Bebo, it's Pacific Poker
They do have Texas Holdem and you can either play with real money or you can also play for free. I have both a free account and a real money account under 2 different user id's.
I haven't been there in quite awhile but when I was there I tried the Texas Holdem but I didn't much like it because you cannot read the faces of the other players to see if they are bluffing or not. I mostly played 7 Card Stud in one of the 25 cent rooms.

Thanks again.

libra63, are you on some kind of new medication that befuddles your brain moreso now than when you left months ago? I posted an ARTICLE from the news with NO comments said by me. NONE of the article was written by me and it had NOTHING to do with my fantasies. What part of that can't you understand?
Now if you really want to sit there and think that I posted it because I fantasized about spanking, that does say a lot more about where your mind is headed.
Here......... this may help to educate you some more. Have fun!

Part of a excerpt from a different article that tells more of the story...
*****
Baker spent some of his closing argument talking about a "strikingly similar" lawsuit that Orlando filed against another previous employer, Rodeo Nissan, a car dealership in Clovis. Orlando said she reached a settlement in that case, which centered on a female employee who was accused of sexually harassing Orlando.
Baker showed the jury a document from that lawsuit, in which Orlando was asked whether she had any other stressors in her life since she left the car dealership. The question was posed to her in November 2004, after she had already left Alarm One.
"I don't believe so at all," Orlando said, according to the court document.
Not long after that case concluded, Orlando filed suit against Alarm One.
Said Baker: "She's going to hop aboard the Alarm One gravy train
