I should add, parents who don't have time to cook for their children and allow them to eat ready-made crap are guilty of child neglect, in my opinion...

You think youre so much better than everybody else b/c u live on a farm!! Do u even realize your sounding more and more like a republican? Why dont you go fuxing diddle your godless bloody-meat-filled-hands with yourself in your barn! Youre sounding so droll cause technology gave you a free roll. ohh, we kill a porky pig and put him on the skewer cause we are so much better than u and live off the land.

Well maybe you shud concentrate on a little twist of fate mad cow dry arizona and bird flue to occupy you!

For me? I thought you were addressing feni-dix in your posts and I missed reading them before the edits so I have no idea what you said before you edited. Was it something naughty?

Blackened Spam? Yummie! I especially like the turkey Spam. Made it part of my food storage program.

When first married the wife brought me burnt offerings. I happen to like burnt offerings. Yeah, with a guy as easy as me [crazy] we've been married 28 years.

Oh man, now it all makes sense. All the senseless posts, the innuendo's, the hints at something else going on. I always knew there was something different about him and now we know the truth.

I despise cooking and I'd like to see the person who thinks they could make me. You want to eat... cook it yourself.

Some thoughts from this thread:

* I agree that parents who have their kids eat ONLY take-out food are hurting their children--and probably themselves, too. Start watching "Honey, we're killing the kids" on the TLC channel. Look at the fat, unhealthy, slobby kids and know that's where they can all end up if they don't eat better food.

* Probably everyone can take a few minutes to cook some protein and veggies or a salad. That takes less time than going to a take-out place.

* If you don't buy it at the store, it won't be at home. Junk food doesn't travel from shelf to your kitchen by itself.

* Every couple needs a wife! Especially working couples. I'm not advocating for polygamy here. But even when I was working full time, ditto my husband, I could think ahead on food needs for the week, shop once for the stuff, use crockpots when necessary, and somehow find better food to feed the family. Pizza was a once-in-a-while treat for our kids if we had to get a babysitter for the dinner hour.

* A young couple who lived next door to us was always complaining about money--but their garbage can was overflowing on pickup days with pizza boxes, KFC boxes, etc.

* Friends here in our mountain town say there's no point in trying to make party food when Costco has good stuff for less then you could make it. I've not done that yet (don't give parties around here!), but they swear by it.

Okay, I know I sound like a preachy mom here. Throw your darts somewhere else!

No that wasn't the truth. If you really want to know the truth, Ron.. the answer is absolutely nothing at all. I have nothing to offer anyone.

Uh, yes. Don't bring it to the attention of the church elders though. We have many divergent opinions, but I have no reason/desire to tilt at their windmills.

I joined to get access to the relief society.

Let me rephrase that, to get access to church teachings such as food storage.

Oh, and the finest people on God's green Earth, even if they appear gullible.

So, Maggie, does that mean you never cooked for your kids?

It's a ranch sweetness, not a farm. And no, I don't think I'm better than everybody else, not by a long shot. I do consider myself luckier than many though, including you. Living on a ranch has absolutely nothing to do with preparing wholesome meals for your children, and the failure to do that is, in my opinion neglectful. If you don't like it, feed it to your children.

Do men really want their wife to cook?

Bet most enjoy it being done for them. And some men love cooking too.

I always love having a meal fixed for me - be it by a female or male. It's a gesture of love.

as you mentioned: mac & cheese

cheese enchiladas

qasadeas

agratin potatoes

baked potato with cheese

veggies with cheese

melted cheese on crackers

cheese and apples
-----------

Year of the dog, huh? Well...what can I say?

Hope things are okay with you, truly.

I seriously doubt that Dblf likes Kraft Macaroni & Cheese very much. I don't know why, I can't quite put my finger on the reason why but it just seems like something that she wouldn't like very much. Hmmm, what could the reason be? It's perplexing, isn't it?
