They are not being handed anything Cheryl. They are not being "given" citizenship. They are being given any opportunity to apply after they make financial retribution. They are not being guaranteed citizenship nor would they be fast tracked, in fact they will be at the back of the line after people that go thru the standard process.
The people that would be given this opportunity are those that have been and are continuing to contribute to this society and have amassed no criminal record in the at least five years that they have been here. Why shouldn't they be given the opportunity to stop living in fear of losing all that they have worked for?
Yes, they broke a law in a desperate attempt to make a better life for themselves and their families but if that is their only crime is it really one so deserving of the incredible level of hostility that is being thrown about these days?

Yes it is because it is a slap in the face for all those good people who waited YEARS to legally come here for that life. I am not so naive as to believe anything will be paid back or the amount owed will be so little as to make it laughable.
The Senate is wrong and the House will hopefully set them straight.
