bebe, I pay $150.00 per month for T.V. and Internet. Because of business I use both Adelphia Cable and AOL. AOL as back up only cost about $9.00 per month.

$9.00 a month is well worth watching the reactions from Bear,Stone and Liar_k plus a couple others when I post one of AOLs straw poll questions. After all a movie cost about the same and is over in 2 hours. The neocon tragic comedy sometimes lasts for days around here.

I did that (live in the country) thing years ago. No more I now enjoy an area where I can get to a Pro football/baseball game a stage play any kind of store I need, all in less than 5 to 30 minutes. Plus have Pizza,Chinese,Italian food delivered to our door when we are in the mood.

$88.00 Dish network with HD Channels and top 180 plus. $19.95 for DSL with SBC/ATT the Pro speed 3mb/sec download.

I hate paying so much for this dang TV. What a racket it all is. But alas I don't live anywhere I can get channels on an Antenna that would be viewable. Cable here is about $49.00 month for maybe 50 channels the basic stuff. If you get Digital cable it is same as my Dish Network, about same channels but NO HD channels.

I pay $25.00 a month for DSL and $50.00 a month for Dish Network. I have to pay extra for local chanels so I have the middle package. Of course have the chanels aren't worth a $hit, but they stick you with them anyhow.

You can cut your Dish Network bill by 5 dollars a month if you have this wireless adapter,I dont recall the exact name for it,but you can get a good used one on Ebay or Amzn.
My Dishnetwork bill is 35 dollars per month for 60 channels.

Maggie, thats pretty much the way I feel about the property.

And on a similar thought, I was contacted several months ago by a woman in Houston, who's husband had located a overgrown private cemetery on a some property they were building a retirement home on, outside of Edna, Tx.

In this cemetery are my Grandfather, Great Grandfather & mother, and many great aunts and uncles, all from my fathers side of the family.

I'd been searching for the cemetery since early "96" when I posted a query on a Jackson country Texas web site (subsequently updating my email address). In all about 30 or so of my relatives are buried their.

We haven't been able to coordinate our schedules to get together and meet down there, but she has emailed me photos of some of the headstones.

Hey, we were on dialup until a few months ago--all these years, and now I wonder how we did it. We pay $17 for our DSL and about $42 for our cable TV.

Bear, that's interesting about your family members' graves. Do you know if they plan to move them or will the cemetary be preserved?

Prof, The graves date back to the 1860's and from what I can tell they are preserving the cemetery as it is. I remember visiting the cemetery as a kid with my father.

The owners of the property have cleared the cemetery and are keeping the grass mowed. In fact they had to use a dozer to clear the area around the cemetery of brush & Mesquite

When they sent me a list of who is buried there and from what I've found in the genealogical records it appears the owners of the property and I are distantly related.

I love old grave sites! I remember as a child spending summers at Old Orchard Beach in Maine, we played in the old grave yards, it was all so mysterious.

What a world....
