It also looks like somebody unloaded a truckful of books.

All categories has less than 50 items, while the books & movies category has almost 7500!!

If it is really affiliated with PayPal, this is a good thing?

Now they can freeze your PayPal account and your auction account all in one shot... No thanks!

I checked the "post your auction" page.

Basic listing is free.

Bold is 25 cts
Banner is 25 cts
Featured auction is $15.00
Featured category is $5.00

It has a box to submit a sound HTTP.
The auction duration is 1, 3 and 5 days.

The bid increment is variable: 25 & 50 cts, $1.00 & $5.00.

It also has an automatic relisting feature, you choose the times you want it to inmediately relist if the item doesn't sell.

The problem is that they are not thinking about customers bidding on multiple items.

jwpc or Pocono,
- since this issue is getting to be several hours since the initial post, and it seems to be not all it was, it might be a good idea if one of you go back to the first page and perhaps edit the one of the early posts so that no one coming in for the first time and reading the first couple of posts also feels that this is a great idea to get in to and just jumps into the link without reading the entire first page.
Maybe give them a warning to read further before going to the site?
Just suggesting.

If this site is not affiliated with Paypal, and Paypal is interested in the concept, why not go in and reopen Golds? The site has everything already in place, all it needed was some bidders. A huge influx of Paypal bidders just might make it fly! Pat.

Well, since I already jumped in and signed up, I've listed something. It's the only item in its category, so perhaps it will get more attention there than it did on eBay, LOL!

One thing I really don't like (and in saying this I'm presuming it's a legitimate auction site... I'm still wary of a scam, though) is that this site displays not only your user ID in your listing but also your email address underneath it. What a spam magnet that will be.

I ALWAYS DEFENDED PAYPAL, WHY? BECAUSE THEY WERE ORIGINALS, EXACTLY LIKE EBAY IS, AND I ALSO SAID THAT NO MATTER WHAT I WILL ALWAYS RESPECT EBAY AND PAYPAL FOR BEING THE PIONEERS OF THEIR OWN BUSINESSES, AND NO MATTER HOW EBAY TREAT US I WILL STILL RESPECT THEM!!! AND DIE THOSE CHEAP COPYCATS WHO TRY TO CLONE THEM.

NOW I THINK THIS IS A VERY GOOD NEWS FOR ALL THOSE FRUSTRATED eSELLERS, AND I BET THAT THIS IS THE ONLY SITE THAT CAN REALLY COMPETE WITH EBAY. HERE THERE WILL BE NO MORE DEAD BEATS, FRAUDS, ETC. ETC BASICALLY EVERYTHING EBAY IGNORED, I WILL DEFINITELY GIVE A SHOT NO QUESTION ABOUT IT, I WOULDN'T THINK TWICE. I STARTED WITH PAYPAL SINCE THEY BEGAN AND NEVER GOT ANY INCONVENIENCE OR PROBLEM, PROBABLY BECAUSE I GAVE MY BANK ACCOUNT AND EVERYTHING THEY NEEDED TO BE SURE THAT ME WAS ME. I HEARD VERY MUCH HERE ABOUT PEOPLE BEING SO PARANOID WITH THE SECURITY AND THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS, IF A HACKER OR WHATEVER NAME YOU WANT TO CALL THEM EMPTIES YOU BANK ACCOUNT, THEY ARE NOT STEALING TO YOU, THEY ARE STEALING TO THE BANK, AND YOUR BANK BY LAW IS THE ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. I NEVER HEARD A SINGLE CASE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE WHERE AN INDIVIDUAL LOST HIS ENTIRE MONEY WHILE IT WAS IN THE BANK THEN NOTHING HAPPENED, BUT ANYWAYS.

NOW I'M GLAD ABOUT THIS PAYPAL AUCTION SITE, EBAY FINALLY NOW YOU WILL HAVE A REAL COMPETITION.

ONE MORE THING, NOBODY ABSOLUTELY NOBODY KNEW ABOUT THIS, FOR ME THAT MEANS PROFESSIONALLY, SECURITY A LOT MORE THAT INVOLVES SUCCESS.

PAYPAL I REALLY WISH YOU THE BEST OF SUCCESS, I DON'T CARE IF IT'S FREE FOR NOW THEN A CHARGE LATER, NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS FOR FREE. NOW I WILL IMMEDIATELY FORMAT MY ADS TO POST IN YOUR SITE.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING TO THE RESCUE OF ALL FRUSTRATED eSELLERS WHO DIDN'T KNOW WHERE TO TURN.

POTON.

NOTE: I THINK A LOT OF EBAY UNDERCOVER AGENTS NOW WILL JUMP TO BRING PAYPAL DOWN, NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. PAYPALDAMON REPRESENTED PAYPAL, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY EBAY AGENTS ARE INFILTRATED HERE. THEY USUALLY DISCOURAGE ANY MEMBER WHO TRY TO SUIT EBAY, THEY SAY NOBODY CAN WIN AGAINST EBAY BECAUSE THIS BECAUSE THAT, AND WI ARE SO DUMB THAT WE BELIEVE THAT, I BET YOU THAT THERE'S MORE THAN 2 eAGENTS IN THE PAYROLL OF EBAY WORKING HERE, FULL TIME TRYING TO INTIMIDATE ANYONE WHO WANTS TO STAND AGAINST THEM, ALSO THEY WILL TRY TO MISLEAD YOU ABOUT ANYTHING THAT CAN BE A TREAT TO THEM, BE SMART AND USE YOUR COMMON SENSE.

Linda, I believe you! I changed my password shortly after signing up as a precaution.

I just have some nagging doubt about what this is all about. Would someone set up such an elaborate site just to harvest passwords? I remember "paypai.com," which was essentially just a front page made to look like PayPal's, and it got shut down within about an hour of information being posted here.

RainyBear ... that is certainly one of the benefits of having this community where members try to protect other members. Without this kind of dialogue, that paypai site may still be out there taking our dough ...

Ummm... let me see now. They want my PP password. Golly - that's reasonable!

Soon as I sign up with them, I'm going over to PS2CART and buyin' a bunch of Playstations to sell. Hot dang! Anybody coming with me?

The e-mail at the top of this thread does not imply anywhere that this site is affiliated wtih PayPal. It simply says that it is an auction site for PayPal users only. Maybe it is not a scam at all, however, would anyone really give that much power to an unknown and practically brand new company?

It is not surprising that they would ask for your PayPal password. If this site is going to automatically pay for your auctions out of your PayPal account, the only way they can pay it for you is by getting into your account. They need your password to do that.

Who the heck would trust a brand new company to dip in to their accounts to pay. What if there is an error? What if they take $75.00 instead of $7.50. Who are these people?

To think that anyone would give total strangers this kind of access is frightening.

Not Kerryann on eBay

Kerryann, good reasoning. Even if the site isn't a "scam" per se, it's unwise to provide your PayPal password to them.

Unlike services which utilize your eBay password (AW, eSnipe, etc.), they could mess with your money, which is a scary prospect.

I received the email as well...
Also, on the nobidding.com site, they have a link to auxpal.com...

I think it's real folks, if it wasn't, wouldn't something have been posted at least on PayPal by now???

I tried to call, but got the message saying they have too many callers, and told me to call back later

Also, if you're just selling on this site, they wouldn't need your password to deposit money, just to withdraw...so, I registered, then changed my paypal password, and I should still be able to receive funds right???
