Just a quick note to please be patient for a few days while we here in the Midwest deal with a Blizzard. We may not get your packages out quite as quickly as normal, but will do our best.
I hope I speak for all sellers, but obviously only for myself.

No trip to the Post Office for me today and probably no mail delivery. This couldn't happen on a worse day. After the weekend I have a ton of stuff to mail and of course Monday's mail always brings more than usual. That means tomorrow is going to be a nightmare at the Post Office. Will probably take another day or two to catch up. We don't like this any better than our buyers do--and we have to shovel out from it!!

We didn't get as much snow as predicted, but with the wind chill it is 25 to 30 below zero. (8 degrees without) Snow expected tonight and it's only a guess how much we'll get because the weather men hardly ever get it right.

I am in Michigan, and I am already snowed in. We are expected to get 8-12" of snow! I only had 2 packages to mail today, but there is no way I am even trying to make it to the post office. The things I have to send out isn't gifts at least! I hate this weather!
Good luck all,

brighid868: Sshhhh!!!! We don't advertise that, for the same reason we hope for rain & cold for the Rose Bowl/Parade. It seems every March or so tons of people move here after they see our 'shorts 'n T Shirt' winters. That's okay I guess... one good earthquake and just as many people leave!

i've lived through blizzards when i lived in minot, syracuse, and germany. i hate that weather and it's dangerous. i like playing in snow, but i hate shoveling it. i hate it. i hate it. i hate it.
we live in sunny southern california. i wasn't married to my hubby when i lived out of california, so when it gets cold here -- say about 50 degrees or so -- he calls it blizzard conditions. so, at the subject title, not the severity, i had to laugh!

yep, it is cold here in Saskatchewan, too; right now around -30 and with a windchill of 2100 it comes to -48 (warm compaired to the last two days up to -61 degrees Celsius and the windchill is supposed to drop to 1800 by tonight).
We also have our share of a lot of snow. Everybody is complaining but live just continues like normal (kids walking to school, mail gets delivered and me making my daily trip to the postoffice). But don't kid yourself I would rather be in Hawaii right now, too.

I just took this out my front window (which is curtainless while I paint )
It's only been snowing a short while, and is supposed to continue until midnight.
I may not NEED curtains at this rate.

Shorts & a T for me, too in Daytona! Just hung some laundry out to dry in the sunshine.
Spent far too many years myself dealing with the dreaded "Lake Effect" Snow in Buffalo, Rochester & Syracuse & I ain't never goin' back!
Stay warm all, & drive safely!

I live in Las Vegas, getting to the PO will be no problem for me. Thanks all for reminding why I moved here from Montana 5 years ago. I knew there was a good reason for it, my memory fades once in a while.

I've lived in California (from Michigan) for almost 20 years now, and whenever people ask why I always say, "It doesn't snow here". Not strictly true, as it does snow up in the mountains where you can go see it if you like.
But no, I ain't never goin' back neither. so there.

In the Northeast one thing I did when we received the 3ft of snow one day was... simply stay indoors and list like a madman! It doesn't snow in California and those people buy too! I paid for $700 worth of snow removal that day. 5 tractor trailer loads and a payloader the size of a ranch house!

Wow! All you Southerners are stealing Alaska's winter weather, apparently. Where I am is pretty windy and balmy today, almost 45F outside and what little snow we do have is beginning to melt. I'm loving it!

i've spent
4 years in Minot North Dakota.
4 years in Stuttgart West Germany.
6 years in Syracuse New York.
is that enough time to warrant living in Sunny SoCal? I'll take an earthquake before I put up with blizzards and ice on the roads.

Snowed in here too in Northern Illinois.
18 degrees and 12" expected before it's over. I opened the overhead garage door and all I saw was a wall of snow. The wind had to be blowing just right for that to happen. LOL! Anyway, I forced my way through and made it to the Post Office and back. By the time I got back I had to blast my way into the driveway and ended up barreling into the garage. Good thing I have good brakes. Wow! Not good for the already high blood pressure.
Too deep for the shovel or snowblower. I'm gonna need a plow here. 15 payments came in today and it does not look like the packages will go out tomorrow at the rate it's still snowing.
I said Pray for Snow guys but GEESH! I didn't say to Pray THAT hard! You can stop praying now! PLEASE STOP!

I just looked at the outside thermometer and it's a nice and sunny 72 degrees here in Phoenix, Arizona today. But I sure would trade places with you guys in the summer when it's a 115!
Take care, be careful, be warm and if anyone is watching the news I'm sure they'll understand why their packages are running late! If not, borrow acooze's picture and email it to them

Come on, quit making excuses!!! Haul out the team, hitch up the sleigh and jingle all the way to the post office!
Actually, those of us wishing for snow won't blame you if you're a day or two late.
Hunker down, grab a cup of hot cocoa and cheese, put another log on the fire and enjoy!
I am in the Washington DC area. We had a few flakes yesterday, but just grey and brown today. Still love it and ....
"I ain't goin" back neither" --to Miami.
Not going to Southern Cal., Georgia, etc either. Love the
seasons! Remember to get that beautiful spring green color in April and the golden colors in the fall, you need alot of cold in
the winter months!
Enjoy, be safe and check out my auctions. If you can find them. Don't like hot chocolate with cheese? I'll take it. Lab Rat 4

I'll take the seasonal upper Midwest cold and occasional blizzard any day over the heat of the Southwest and heat and humidity of the Southeast. Coastal California, however, has always felt great whenever I've been there -- but forget the traffic!
