I think a neutral is at least warranted, and possibly a neg for his snotty attitude as well.

Buyers who are disatisfied with the deal should make that clear to other potential bidders. Even if they didn't ensure that it would be sent Priority, it was a reasonable expectation, given the level of charge.

If others are happy to pay that level of charge, that is fine, but a warning should be made for those who will not be happy either. If sellers are loading charges into the S&H, and buyers are not yet savvy enough to notice themselves, what is the harm of pointing it out to them? The seller is not going to say that up-front.

OK sellers here's what I really want: rock bottom prices, super service, free shipping and I want it delivered the next day!!!!

Seriously, I have seen FB on sellers where the only complaint was "excessive shipping" usually worded more like "BUYER BEWARE THIS SELLER WILL RIP YOU OFF ON SHIPPING". This mixed in with glowing FB about great service. Funny thing is, when I see this, I usually think unreasonable buyer, NOT seller.

I don't think that at all, I think the seller probably overcharges on shipping. As to the topic, if you want revenge, neg them, but it will be revenge,it's your choice.

Thanks all for your opinions. Some of you don't think I should complaint about this. That's your opinion. I learn my lesson. It still doesn't justified to the buyer for some seller to charge $5 for shipping and only shipped the item for $1.45 + cheapy bubble envelope. The seller should have state that $3.55 is for handling on his auction. I will give a neutral feedback for this seller.

chen ... You are correct - it doesn't justify the actual verses what you paid, but nobody held a gun to your head and said "bid, or else".

I don't agree that your seller's attitude is "snotty". What words would you have prefered him to use (other than "sorry, I'll give you your money back".

To resolve your dilemma, why not just refrain from posting any feedback at all? To me, a neutral is the same as a non-positive and you could be setting yourself up for a flame war. Is it really worth it for the aggravation and stress this will cause you?

The whole discussion about what's fair and what isn't when it comes to shipping and handling has been discussed here ad nauseum, and I think most eBayers agree that as long as the costs are shown up front, there should not be a problem. As mrpotatoeheadd said ... it really doesn't matter how the seller arrives at the number, or whether you think it's fair or not. If the bottom line is shown clearly in the TOS, the decision to pay it or not is totally up to you before you click the confirm bid button.

Have fun

Moderator Linda,

My apologies-I obviously was the one who overreacted.

The eBay feedback rules are pretty clear: the feedback should reflect how you feel about the transaction. You feel negative, leave a neg.

Be sure to make the neg calm and factual. "For $6 I expected Priority mail, disappointed".

Seller can indeed respond "never promised Priority", but seller is the one who loses this exchange.

Personally, I have no sympathy for this kind of seller, and I hope they get negged out of business.
