ebaY should verify all users - seller or buyer in some manner or another. All they need to do is offer a VARIETY of solutions - credit card, equifax verify, OAUA membership etc. There are lots of ways to verify WITHOUT a credit card. This will not solve the problem but would help cut down on the ease of registering shill (and other disruptive and frivolous) buying addys - and yes it is sellers registering these (or recruiting them) but they are registering as BUYERS (no verify required) not sellers (CC or equifax verify required). And yes the true Cons Scammers and Grifters will dance circles around all of these rules. -Rosalinda

Exactly. So what's the point of it all?
I'm not sure how many times I have to repeat this, but there are numerous buyers on eBay
who have VERY deep pockets, but WILL NOT register their CC online, period, end of story.

Equifax? What a laugh. Who in their right mind wants to do business with these screw ups? Doesn't anyone remember the numerous horror stories about Equifax when the UV idea was first mentioned a couple of years ago?

And let's not forget the thousands of International users [like moi] who eBay still won't verify. I've been registered on eBay for 3 yrs, have close to 1000 transactions with no negs, and cannot get verified, even if I wanted to spend the $5. Whatta joke.

OAUA ..... Why should I sign up with them?
I think my feedback speaks for itself. I don't need to join a "club" to verify I am who I say I am.

Any other ideas?

IMO eBay should have their site set up so sellers can block bidders who aren't "verified" in the eyes of eBay. Then those of you that don't want to deal with buyers that haven't passed the "I am who I say I am" test, won't have to.

Problem solved.
