Thank you reddeer,
I quess I was a little surprised at the fact that you could list in 2 categories for FREE.
I'll bet not to many people know that.
I read this board all the time and I never seen where it was mentioned.
It seems to me it was a well kept secret.
It still wouldn't have made a difference to me as I haven't taken advantage of FREE LIST DAY for 2 years now.
Listing in 2 categories should double eBay's numbers then. Isn't it numbers of listings there(eBay)after in the first place and not REALLY for showing its members appreciation?

Packer...you said

Since none of us are privy to the ebay decision making process, nor do I think any of us are clairvoyant, I doubt if we KNOW exactly WHAT ebay's motivations were for the free listing day..do we?
Its all speculattion, isn't it? And since it is just speculation, and since we were given a gift (no matter what ebay's motivation was)...why not just graciously accept the gift without question?
PS..driving home in a snowstorm! I think you had a right to have a bad hair day!

I list with starting bids of $1.00 and no reserve, average final bid is $90.00 so for me free listing days make my auctions more risky. To list on Yahoo with those terms would be disasterous, I'll wait till eBay clears out the 'free listings'.

Gee, I felt happy getting 230 auctions up for about 450 items... love being able to do dutch auctions for free...
