Ok Irked...just for you.

If I only had a heart..."

When a man's an empty kettle he should be on his mettle,
And yet I'm torn apart.
Just because I'm presumin' that I could be kind-a-human,
If I only had heart.
I'd be tender - I'd be gentle and awful sentimental
Regarding Love and Art.
I'd be friends with the sparrows ... and the boys who shoots the arrows
If I only had a heart.
Picture me - a balcony. Above a voice sings low.
Wherefore art thou, Romeo?
I hear a beat...how sweet.
Just to register emotion, jealousy - devotion,
And really feel the part.
I could stay young and chipper and I'd lock it with a zipper,
If I only had a heart.

And just to be complete...

"If I only had the nerve..."

Yeah, it's sad, believe me, Missy, When you're born to be a sissy
Without the vim and verve.
But I could show my prowess, be a lion not a mou-ess
If I only had the nerve.
I'm afraid there's no denyin' I'm just a DandyLion,
A fate I don't deserve.

I'd be brave as a blizzard....
I'd be gentle as a lizard....
I'd be clever as a gizzard....
If the Wizard is a Wizard who will serve.

Then I'm sure to get a brain,
...a heart
...a home
...THE NERVE!

The sorrowing soldiers then laid the glorious prince, their dear lord, in the middle. Then on the hill the war-men began to light the greatest of funeral fires. The wood-smoke rose black above the flames, the noisy fire, mixed with sorrowful cries

Beowulf is about loyalty and reputation.

So maybe we can make a gigantic leap to the next thought,

I happily drink Apple Koolaid, always buy button fly 501's and Carhartt coats and White's boots anddrive GMC's. Other than that I shop quality for best price, not brand.

I'm loyal to:

Vendio

Maybelline Mascara and Revlon lipstick

Pepsi (actually an addiction I'd like to break)

In most areas I don't think I'm a particularly loyal consumer.

The 700 Club, or whatever it's called.

Kiara, thanks for that link...the Wild Turkey Rye is pretty good also. My grandpa drank Old Overholt so I've pretty much always stuck with it. Only on special occaisions though and for medicinal purposes only. Hey, it just so happens today is the day Mississippi seceeded from the Union. That sure calls for a drink if anything does. Let me get my Overcoat..

Ugly Americans

Profe, have another drink because on this day, in 1943, Christopher Columbus sees three "mermaids" -- in reality manatees -- and describes them as "not half as beautiful" as they are painted. That information, provided by the history channel does not reveal his preferred beverage.

Careful Helen, don't give Profe too many reasons to celebrate. His drink is also called Old Overandout.

Helen, it's always been acceptable for guys to have those little hide-outs to get away from the world and become wiser so to speak. But if women went off into one with their Old Overcoat or whatever to do the exact same thing they'd say we had 'problems'. lol
