Linda, Yes, I called you a twit because you are and extremely judgmental too. Hope when you get to the Pearly Gates, St. Peter is a little kinder in judging you. I rarely call anyone names, unlike you, who puts personal insults into every post. You responded to one of my posts talking about socialized medicine, and I responded to that, saying that I was not talking about socialized medicine. Nor, were several other posters in this thread talking about socialized medicine. But as usual, you prefer to ignore pertinent facts. As for it being all about me? This coming from someone who wants to let people die in the steets, rather than get affordable health insurance---which, by the way, was recommended by the person who wrote one of your C & P's, if you read it. I have one question for you--how come you did not care how much money was spent, tax payer or personal, to save one person--Terry Schiavo--whose health care was not even any of your business?

coincoach GREAT QUESTION!! Now lets all read the response LIAR_K makes. We are all waiting.
coincoach asked this question,"I have one question for you--how come you did not care how much money was spent, tax payer or personal, to save one person--Terry Schiavo--whose health care was not even any of your business?"

Well good luck coincoach getting a straight answer to a pertinent question from linduh!
Whenever she's backed into a corner she has a million excuses including "the libs never answer my questions so I won't(can't) answer their's."
She hasn't answered many questions at all including why she doesn't mind the disappearing 10 BILLION dollars of our tax dollars in Iraq but hates the thought of tax money being spent on Americans........so many unanswered questions.....

We can't continue to ignore those victims!
Fact One: The United States ranks 23rd in infant mortality, down from 12th in 1960 and 21st in 1990
Fact Two: The United States ranks 20th in life expectancy for women down from 1st in 1945 and 13th in 1960
Fact Three: The United States ranks 21st in life expectancy for men down from 1st in 1945 and 17th in 1960.
Fact Four: The United States ranks between 50th and 100th in immunizations depending on the immunization. Overall US is 67th, right behind Botswana
Fact Five: Outcome studies on a variety of diseases, such as coronary artery disease, and renal failure show the United States to rank below Canada and a wide variety of industrialized nations.
Conclusion: The United States ranks poorly relative to other industrialized nations in health care despite having the best trained health care providers and the best medical infrastructure of any industrialized nation
Fact One: Studies reveal that citizens in universal health care systems have more doctor visits and more hospital days than in the US
Fact Two: Around 30% of Americans have problem accessing health care due to payment problems or access to care, far more than any other industrialized country. About 17% of our population is without health insurance. About 75% of ill uninsured people have trouble accessing/paying for health care.
Fact Three: Comparisons of Difficulties Accessing Care Are Shown To Be Greater In The US Than Canada (see graph)
Fact Four: Access to health care is directly related to income and race in the United States. As a result the poor and minorities have poorer health than the wealthy and the whites.
Fact Five: There would be no lines under a universal health care system in the United States because we have about a 30% oversupply of medical equipment and surgeons, whereas demand would increase about 15%
Conclusion: The US denies access to health care based on the ability to pay. Under a universal health care system all would access care. There would be no lines as in other industrialized countries due to the oversupply in our providers and infrastructure, and the willingness/ability of the United States to spend more on health care than other industrialized nations."
Yea, b-b-b-but everyone on the planet wants to live here, AND NO ONE WANTS TO LEAVE-WTF???

If you dont want to hear the truth....dont ask the question.
Let's see...you believe that over forty million American citizens should move to another country if they can't afford health care in the United States? Is that correct?
Keep in mind that most of these forty million without health insurance cannot afford a vacation to another state, much less a move to another country.

I never stated any such thing-all Im saying is that everyone seems to want to live here, and I dont see anyone trying to get out. That tells me this is the best place on earth to live.If ya can find a better place, please let me know.

Yes we all lucky and proud to be an American so can't we make America a even better place to live?
This week in Maryland a 12 year old boy died from a tooth infection that reached his brain.
His mother took the kid to several Dentist and none would even look at the kid because he had no way to pay.
America can do better about health coverage for its people.
About people coming to America and not wanting to leave most are from poor countries so what is your point? These same people could move to a hundred or more countries and be better off.
The illegals get health care for free but a kid from Maryland dies because he doesn't have insurance? What is wrong with that picture?

I think it's a great place to live too. The fact that health care needs improvement is not being used as a means to disparage the country. Lack of affordable health care has become a crisis and needs to be corrected.
The "love it or leave it" effort to absolve the government from any responsibility will not work. We should have more respect for our country and for our fellow Americans. A better motto is Love it but Don't Leave it.
We should all have an interest in living in a society where our fellow Americans are better able to stay healthy mentally and physically. That will benefit everyone.

The "DUH" for the day....
""all Im saying is that everyone seems to want to live here, and I dont see anyone trying to get out"""
Oh really....I don't see many countries emptying out and their residents flocking to the U.S....unless the country is even worse than ours like Mexico and other third world countries.
MANY people are leaving...
those who can afford to leave...
many retirees are heading to Mexico, for instance, to take advantage of the poor people there.
If I could afford it I would be gone...
The Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, ....

People complain about all kinds of things in all countries that are rated as the best to live in, even in Norway which is usually at the top of the list.
Most systems are a bit fragile and I think if no one complained there is a danger of sliding down instead of moving up or staying near the top.
