04/01/07 Reuters: In Baghdad - 10 bodies found Saturday, 16 found Sunday.
The bodies of 10 people were found shot in different districts of Baghdad on Saturday, police said...Police said 16 bodies were found in Baghdad on Sunday.

Bigpeepa, I agree McCain made a fool of himself by saying Americans could walk around freely in some streets of Baghdad. Michael Ware, the Australian journalist said something about McCain being in Neverland because Ware's been on the ground for awhile and knows the situation there.
Today McCain wore body armor and had heavy military security around him as he traveled about select areas for an hour. Obviously he couldn’t follow through with his silly remarks by actually doing what he claimed other Americans can.

were in the marketplace there were helicopters overhead , they all wore body armor, motorized vehicles were kept out and they were heavily guarded and in armored Humvees........
the average IRAQI does NOT have this kind of protection....

Why does Linda_K want to continue the war in Iraq and have more of the troops killed when she has constantly shown her fear and loathing of all Muslims? What's in it for her? She claims the war is to bring them liberty and freedom yet she hates them so that makes no sense. That's not supporting the troops at all, that's just using them to support Bush at any cost.

Yes, I am glad that our military aren't trained to be quitters like the liberals want to make them.
I'm glad we have a CIC who will continue to work towards stabilizing Iraq and who also isn't a QUITTER/COWARD/enemy appeaser.
Yep....for now this Nation will continue this war against the AQ/terrorists/and Iraqi's who don't want freedom and liberty in their country.

Why do you want them to have liberty and freedom so much that you're willing to sacrifice the lives of young American soldiers to bring it to them?
How will the Iraqis' freedom benefit you and America when this is all over with?
Why are the Iraqis so much different than other Muslims that they must have freedom at any cost, including more of your tax dollar?
Do you look forward to more of them moving to America and becoming your close neighbors and will you be accepting of them more than you are now?

Its the left over republican lawmakers that want to continue THE BUSH IRAQ WAR against the will of the majority of Americans.
The majority of Americans want THE BUSH IRAQ WAR ENDED. Its what is left of the republican lawmakers and Bushy that are giving the majority of Americans the finger.
The republicans do not believe in the idea of government for the people by the people. The republicans are telling America your either "YOUR WITH US OR AGAINST US" and if your against us we ignore you and if you make a fuss we will lable you un-american cowards.

House Republicans yesterday pledged to sustain a veto of the Democrats' war bill in a letter signed by 154 lawmakers -- eight more than needed -- the latest show of solidarity with President Bush.
Congressional Democrats say Republicans are following Mr. Bush "off a cliff" by backing the increasingly unpopular Iraq war.
Republicans call it a principled stand.
"Our members are trying to figure out what is the right thing to do rather than what's the popular thing to do," said House Minority Whip Roy Blunt, Missouri Republican.
Republicans say they are cognizant of widespread opposition to the Iraq war, as seen in a USA Today/Gallup poll last week that showed 69 percent of American adults disapprove of the president's handling of war and 60 percent support a troop pullout by fall 2008.
But Republicans are united in opposition to the Democrats' bills that tie emergency war funding to pullout timetables and to about $20 billion in domestic spending, including pork-barrel projects.
Their stand continues to win approval from most Republican voters, though the lawmakers say their position is not anchored by polls.
A poll published Saturday by Newsweek showed 64 percent of Republican voters oppose the March 2008 withdrawal deadline in the bill passed last week by the Senate.
"Hopefully, the most important of public policy -- that is peace and war -- are not determined by this week's poll," said Rep. Jerry Lewis of California, ranking Republican on the House Appropriations Committee.
"And in the long term, either we are a force for freedom in the world or we are not," Mr. Lewis said. "Saddam Hussein was worth getting rid of. ... Everybody voted to do that, including the Democrats."
The letter to the president focused on the pork spending in the $124 billion war bill.
"This letter sends a strong message that Republicans will continue to fight for a clean troop-funding bill, without tying funding for our generals and our troops to arbitrary restrictions or pork-barrel projects," said House Minority Leader John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican.

The President just concluded his press conference where he reaffirmed his committment to VETO any bill congress should send him, when they return from their vacation, that has any restriction of timetables for withdrawal.
And he also said he'd like a bill on his desk that doesn't attach all that pork spending to necessary funding for our TROOPS.
You know, all the BRIBES pelosi had to offer to get the DEM members of congress to vote for her bill.
I thought he was quite gracious in how he said he accepted the debate about the war - and spoke about where he disagreed with the dems.
Me, I would have just put it to the PUKES that they have no business [read - CONSTITUTIONAL right] to micromanage this or any other war. THAT job is the CICs....and our military commanders. NOT congress'.
