codasaurus: I just checked his bidding history and he only bought from 2 other people after he won my auctions. One of those people gave him a positive feedback - the other has not left feedback yet. The one who has not left him feedback yet is for an item very similar to mine - it's the same item, one size smaller, and a little different style. So I don't know what to make of that.

Paladin: Sorry, but those were not my terms. I do not ship COD. I ship once I receive payment. I'm not bending my rules for someone who is rude and demanding like this.

Please be sure and keep us updated on your progress. I'm constantly amazed at peoples' nerve. And, hey, I'm waiting for a payment from France that was supposedly mailed 12/22. To add insult to injury, I had specified that int'l bidders were required to use BidPay, but I was overcome with Christmas spirit.... (duh). Don't leave us all hanging, let us know how this turns out!!!

Yeah ya gotta let us know how this one turns out. Boy if he only knew the endless amount of entertainment he has provided us with Then again Exec Girl I know this has not been entertaining for you!! You handled it GREAT though.
Ya know, I won a pager and paid the guy with Paypal on 12/28 who even told me daaaaaays ago he DID get my payment. Did I get my pager yet? NO! I emailed today very nicely "Did you ship yet?" He emailed me back today (13 days after he got paid?)and said "Yours is on my list of things to send today." Oh okay so that explains it. I hope I didn't interrupt his busy schedule or anything. Hey maybe I should've sent YOUR guy after him!!! Did ya send my pager yet? Did ya send my pager yet? Did ya send my pager yet? Does this bother you? Does this bother you? Does this bother you?

I just did as someone else had suggested earlier - and requested his personal info through ebay, but I don't think that is going to scare this guy. Time will tell. In the meantime I'm preparing myself for the NEG I think he'll be leaving me...

Rocker: Your posts crack me up! It's a good thing I can find a little humor in this or I'd be in really bad shape! So... you emailed your seller "did you ship yet"???? Hmmmm.... was it just "did you ship yet" or was it

"DID YOU SHIP YET"
"DID YOU SHIP YET"
"DID YOU SHIP YET"
"DID YOU SHIP YET"
"DID YOU SHIP YET"
"DID YOU SHIP YET"
"DID YOU SHIP YET"

LOL

Yes, but we are losing sight of what is really important here: how to put the smileys in your post.

(UGH! I still can't do it. Thank you edit feature.)

Okay, that done, I think the buyer should be more worried about the NEG you will leave for him. If he is pulling the same stunt on that other seller (and a couple more), he may find himself locked out of Ebay shortly---to our great relief.

EG, you handled the situation very well.

Aloha.

Hi misscandle!

To put in smilies, just do this:

[*silly]
[*smile]
[*biggrin]
[*frown]
[*disgust]

In the square brackets WITHOUT the asterisks (*) to get the smilies in your auctions. There are so many of them I don't know all of them but at least here's a few to get you started!

I told you I need to get a life!

(I give up)

Okay, so if I have a nice Hula Girl .gif, how would I put that in here?

(I'm just doing this to avoid getting started on my chores today.)

Aloha from Hawaii.

I had a check sent 12/12 from Portland and arrived in Chicago on 12/27. The buyer almost cancelled the money order but we decided to sit tight. I almost didn't believe him either but then again he was a whole lot nicer about the whole thing.

Stusi: It was a suggestion of someone's to get his contact info.

I know he gets my contact info - he could have gotten that anyways - there were also several other ways he could get my info outside of ebay.

EG:

Okay, this is my attempt to put dancing hula girls here. This is relevant to your thread because.....um.....I'm sending you some of the Aloha Spirit to help ease the stress of that nonpaying jerky guy. Yeah, that's it.

My apologies in advance if I end up spamming you while trying to edit this.

Thanks for all your help. You should charge me for these computer lessons. Let's see...shall I send you a check, or would you prefer PayPal?

Guess I'd better check that other thread.

executive girl- if you wanted to complete a transaction and were having a problem i could understand getting contact info. but in this case you really do not care to complete the transaction, unless of course you are looking for more problems from this bidder. BTW, i am sure that there are many newbies who do not realize that they can get contact info from ebay or other sources. in any case volunteering your phone number and address is never wise, particularly to an apparently wacky person.

I had a very similiar situation about a month ago. Except my buyer claimed he had mailed me cash. I find it hard to believe someone would mail $37 cash. Anyways, here is what I did. I wrote them an email saying it had been X amount of days since the auction had ended. Being as how I needed to close the auction to finish the bookwork. I also told him if he had forgotten about the auction, and failed to mail payment, to please do so immediately. I would give them 5 days to mail me payment. I stated that if the payment wasn't received in the five days, i would relist the item and post them appropriate feedback. He claimed again he had mailed me cash and there was no way to trace cash, so he would mail me a money order the next day so if I didn't receive it, it could be traced. I ended up receiving the money order 3 days later. Needless to say, he had also emailed me daily asking if I had recieved it and had it been shipped. You need to turn the tables on this guy and start giving HIM the countdown. Why is he telling you that you have one more day? Let him know you are waiting for payment and he has X amount of days to fulfill his buyer obligation. He probably will NEG. you but there is one in every crowd. I get those too. Good luck, and don't forget to delivery confirm your package.

Exec Girl,

Time to be thinking about NPB Alert and FVF request. This deal just ain't gonna happen.

Your buyer's minimal bidding activity shoots holes through the scam theory. Unless one of the items was for a very large amount.

I would just void the deal and get on with the credit request process. If payment should ever arrive simply send it back. And be sure not to email this person every day asking if they got payment back. Heheh

When you don't proof read your posts you are liable to shots yerself in da foot... Heheh

CODASAURUS: Actually, I filed my NPB alert on day 15. I already notified this guy that this transaction was VOID and I will no longer accept his payment. When and IF I ever receive his payment (and that's a BIG IF) I will send it back to him.

LOL - "Did you get the payment back yet?"
"Did you get the payment back yet?"
"Did you get the payment back yet?"
"Did you get the payment back yet?"
"Did you get the payment back yet?"
"Did you get the payment back yet?"

See what you started?

hey! I'm new on the threads but not to eBay ~ over 800 transactions. The deadbeats started getting to me a few months ago so I started to actively try to get rid of them. After seven postal days, I send a follow up eoa letting them know that pmt had not been received. Somewhere between day 15-20 I do a NPB. Still no pmt 7 postal days later, I post the neg and file my FVC and, if the bidder is a repeat offender, he's off eBay for a while to rethink his actions. I've had to post about 15 negs in the past four months. Not sure why I haven't had any retaliatory negs ~ I think it's because most of my deadbeats are newbies and they use "My eBay" to post feedback to sellers (holds records for 30 days). By the time I'm done, 30 days have already passed. Of course, the experienced eBayer would go to the feedback forum to post fb (items stay for 90 days) but I haven't had any problems with seasoned bidders! YES, it's a pain but 4 of the deadbeats are no longer registered! Just trying to keep eBay fun!

Chepistar: I always leave NEGS for deadbeats. I've left over 5,000 feedbacks and have left over 150 NEGS. My auctions say payment is due within 10 days after the end of auction. On the 11th day I file NPB alert and on the 20th day I file my FVF, relist, and NEG the deadbeat. The only reason I have given this guy extra time is because he insisted he mailed payment. But on the 15th day I did file my NPB alert and after the 10 days are up after that I will most certainly file for my FVF's and NEG him for non-payment. When customers keep me updated and keep me informed as to their payments I try to be as understanding and patient as I can - but I think this guy clearly just did not send payment and wants something for free.

I agree ~ I don't think he ever sent the payment. I cant believe he's being such a pest to you! Guess he feels like afool at this point so he's keeping up the charade! Not to confuse you more, but I got a MO in today's mail that was postmarked Dec 22. oops ~ did I mention that I live in Florida?
