Another update. Today is day #20, still no payment from him.
He did get one more positive feedback from the other guy that he purchased the item similar to mine.
He purchased 4 items in the past 30 days from 3 different sellers. So far I'm the only one who has not received his payment and left him positive feedback.
He also has not emailed me since I told him any further emails from him would be considered harassment.
I still plan on filing my FVF.
My question is: Should I still NEG him? No doubt he will NEG me back...

My Husband does not get upset by email. I do. (I mentally send them to a landfill where they belong).
He usually tell me it is not worth getting upset about. He is right. The idea about sending him email after email is good for venting but only makes the bidder more angry.
Money orders can be traced to see if they have been cashed.
How about telling the bidder that to make thing better why don't you both start again. Have him send you a personal check.
He can file for a refund on the money order. If the money order shows up in the mean time you will let him know immediately and return it to him voided or how ever he wants it handled. Send him his t-shirt when you get his personal check after your waiting period or directly if the check number is high enough.
Whatever is your policy on checks.
It is a shame that things get so out of prospective. People who are not sellers do not realize the things we sellers have to go through. I am sure you run an honest and have good business dealings but often we are caught at the mercy of the buyer. Whom for whatever reason are unreasonable.
Please take a few deep breathes and realize that this bidder should be dumped in the landfill but since that is not possible. He is not worth the stress.
posted on January 13, 2001 02:30:05 PMmsstone: I do not accept checks at all. I would especially not accept a check from this guy. I don't know if you've read this whole thread (I know it is quite long!) but this guy insists he sent me a MO on 12/30 and says I should mail out his item anyways even though I have not received payment. I say "WRONG!". No way!
Here's how I see it. He bid and won my auction (a shirt) on 12/24. He "says" he mailed my payment on 12/30. On January 8th he bid on and won another shirt - very similar to mine in a size smaller. Perhaps he thought the other one was too big? So instead of paying for it, he's "saying" he already sent payment and I should just ship him his item anyways.
In the meantime and between all these zillion emails we've sent back and forth, I've asked him about 3 times - Why don't you trace the money order? (that way he could see I never received it). He has avoided that question EVERY SINGLE time. He will not answer that question. Which tells me - he never sent it to begin with.
I already told him this transaction was void and that if I ever DO receive his payment, that I will return it to him. As far as I'm concerned, it's over. But now I have to NEG him and most likely get a NEG in return.
pumpkinhead: I'm glad this thread is so entertaining! LOL! No I have not negged him yet, but I will do so after the 10 days are up so I can file my FVF. Then, I will NEG him and relist the item.

I am sorry I did not read the whole thread.
All I can say is that I am sorry this happened to you. You are welcome to use my mental landfill. It does help. I picture them in the garbage and a big front end loader covering them. I usually end up laughing from the image and that helps. I really enjoyed your music thread.

EG, it's time to draw the line. Your letting this take up way too much space in your brain ~ he's adding WAY too much fecal matter to your life! If it will help you to stop stressing, leave him a neutral with professionally worded negativity about his harassment. (be sure that 30 days have passed though ~ remember that newbies usually use "my eBay" rather than pending feedback). IF you will still be stressed waiting for the wacko to neg you then wait a while longer. Do whatever you have to do to get back to enjoying eBay. It's time to get back to all of the GREAT bidders that are out there! You need to move on from the DB and stop trying to figure out why he flaked. We just don't make enough money to keep letting this "yahoo" (pardon the pun) give you that nasty feeling inside. You seem like such a doll ~ get back to having fun (although this thread has been great fun in and of itself)

Seems like the emotional consequences of online auction selling might make a good thread . I too get down sometimes when things go wrong on line. I know that doesn't hurt anybody but me, but it is still hard to deal with sometimes ( Maybe I need prozac...oh yeah....I'm already on it....oh no, I forgot to fill my prescription...last...July...uh oh...). Ya know, I grew up with a family business, my dad had a run down gas station. Quite a struggle just to survive, all kinds of problems, unsatisfied customers, non-paying customers, bad checks, fist fights in the office....maybe ebay isn't so bad .
I sympathize with your situation, I hope it comes to a happy resolution.

Hey Rocker! I haven't heard from him since I told him to stop harassing me! (Can't believe it worked!!) Still no payment from him either (not that I'm expecting it). I can't wait until the 10 days are up so I can file my FVF on him! And, of course, I will NEG him. Which, he'll probably NEG back in return, but oh well! Gotta do what you gotta do, right?

Edited because I consistently fail to notice that some threads are more than one page in length, hence I write stuff that is totally incoherant!

LOL!!!! Of course it was not from him.
"Ya gotta do what you gotta do, right?"
RIGHT!!! Well I guess it really is over, you did what you had to do all along, you handled it great, and I'm glad ya stood up to the bully and he went away. Now may someone else buy the shirt.
But one last question:
Do you take CHECKS?

I got a nasty e-mail today and immediately thought of you You see, this deadbeat won two of my auctions. She requested Billpoint for one (never paid) and sent a personal check for the other (I dont take personal checks). Furthermore, the personal check was UNSIGNED. In total, she was sent over 10 e-mails regarding these two auctions (eBay's end of auction x2, my EOA x2, Billpoint invoice, my 10 days no $$ yet reminder x2, eBay's NPB x2). She gave me my first neg (at least I got to 500 clean!) and it was a double whammy because of the two auctions. Here's the part that reminded me of you:
I KNOW "CheApster" would never send merchanise before receiving payment.
(that her spelling, not mine, BTW). If you ever do hear from your "friend" again, please let him know that since you don't want to be called cheap like chepistar, you will be sending out shirts upon auction close. Then YOU can say didyagetityet didyagetityet didyagetityet

I have read this whole thread, and it just brings to mind that when I order something from a catalog or online, they don't ship it until MY PAYMENT IS RECEIVED! DUH! I agree that this joker was scamming and just figured he'd get away with it...I am glad I have read all these posts, I am fairly new to selling and it gives me a heads up...BTW, didja get payment from him yet? LOL

Exec Girl, since you told this fruitcake the auction was void...now you can't file for fvf or neg him? Or can you?
posted on January 19, 2001 07:49:38 AMcheapster: (My spelling, BTW)hehehe... Sorry to hear about your neg! And I wonder why that would make you think of me???? That lady sounds like a true deadbeat, alright! Did you neg her back?? Well, didya? didya? didya?
Kaffro: Yes, this guy definitely was scamming me. Today is the 26th day since the auction ended and no payment whatsoever from him. The last time I wrote him was on January 9th where I sent him the letter Ebay sent me regarding his "reporting me to his brother in law at Ebay", etc... and I also told him any further emails from him would be considered harassment and reported to the proper authorities. Not a word from him since!
mzalaz: Actually, yes I have every right to file my FVF and NEG this loser.
For starters, he never paid. I already filed my NPB alert and am waiting for the 10 days to be up so I can file my FVF on him. I gave him several times to make good on the bid but instead he decided to play a game and use "threats" to get me to ship his item out. I did not tell him this transaction was "void" until it was obvious he had no intention on paying. He also broke my TOS. My TOS states I must receive payment within 10 days after the auction ends. Of course I gave him even more time, but the fact remains, he did not pay (and had no intention on paying).
As soon as the 10 days are up (which should be very soon now) I will most definitely file my FVF and NEG him.
And to answer all your questions: (didyagetityet didyagetityet)

EG: Dont you know me by now? I NPB'ed her on day 11 and neg'd her after she was non-responsive. TWICE. just doin my job, Boss. Just doin my job.

I had the same thing happen to me and after 3 weeks, I filed with Ebay NPB, waited the 10 days, Then filed for a credit, AND THEN....I gave a neg. feedback. And I told the bidder in my last email to her, please don't email me any longer because talking to you is not makeing me money. And The Emails Stopped....She never gave me feedback...lets face it if she did she would not be telling the truth...because she would only be able to give me a neg. and I did nothing wrong...
And, if I had to get a neg. because of the truth, and because I did the right thing, we'll let it be....Life goes on

Exec Girl,
I know this is a pain in the you-know-what for you, but I just wanted to let you know that this has been very entertaining! I read all four pages at the edge of my seat! Please keep us updated- I MUST know what happens!!!

E-Girl, you're doing all the right stuff...... don't let the buyer take the reins! This is a scammer, whole thing stinks.......
I got an email day following an auction close, (I'd sent the eoa notice day before) saying "SEND MY BOOK". I gave them awhile to actually read and respond to my eoa notice, make a payment, then I'd respond. Third day I get (you knew this was coming!) "PLZ SEND MY MONEY BACK!". What money? Never paid. I replied very politely that payment had not been received, please let me know which form payment was made in....... Response was the wholy predictable; "SEND MY BOOK!!!!!!!". I did not reply any more but waited and neged with pleasure. Gotta move on to fresh grazin' ma'am!
Heehee, just watched True Grit, AGAIN!

Never sent payment, wants item, & wants to report me. Becareful!!
I am still working on your Neg. Feedback, let me tell you, IT'S HARD, There is not enough room to say want you should really say.
I really find it hard, the above is my thinking out loud....

Sorry EGI was pretending to have a life for a minute (teehee)
I would probably put something like "nonpaying highbidder ~ 37e-mails but no pmt" (tried to save character space)
I've had to do those before one was "after 6wks&8attempts,got4promises,but 0pmts".
For the bidders that totally flake me off I leave it at "non-responsive non-paying high bidder" ~ it does leave much for them to respond to. BTW, did you know that you can comment on a bidders response to your neg on THEIR feedback? Just FYI for anyone who didn't know ~ yes, I'm having one of those blonde days that I am not very clear in explaining myself. Hope I didn't cause any confusion out there.
posted on January 20, 2001 01:33:28 PMCheapster: Actually, there were ONLY 14 feedbacks he sent me
I really wish there was more room, like tonimar said.. he threatened to report me to his brother-in-law at ebay (yeah right), demanded item be sent before he mailed payment, he never DID mail the payment, and the "did you mail it yet? don't make me report you again" emails were borderline harassment I think....
"Nightmare customer, harassed, threatened, then never paid"
