Brenda, you stated:
radh, You strike me as someone alwayswanting to see the good in people andthat is an admirable quality. I'm notso blessed with such a temperament.

No, it is not an admirable quality, and it is a particular bad attribute, signifying S-T-O-O-P-I-D-I-T-Y upon the Internet where such characteristic proves that one has an enfeebled mind, unable to learn from one's experiences.
However, in 3-D RL, it works fine, as my life is very b-0-r-i-n-g and quaint and certainly NOT peopled with characters who mandate a change in my innate, seemingly indelible orientation.
Had I been in your predicament, I dare say that my defense mechanisms are sooooooooo strong, that I would have written a sweet, chatty, liddle widdle email that was very informative, along the lines of, "I'm certain you do not wish to commit a Federal FELONY in order to save a few cents in postage... so let me explain about Media Mail..........."
In other words, I have a distinct feeling that I would NOT have in any given myself ANY opportunity to find out if the actions were PERPETRATED in full knowledge.
This is NOT *admirable* - its a clinically enriched version of that dreaded syndrome, "pollywollyannism."
It is because of my extreme INABILITY to view the t-r-u-t-h of the matter and the ACTUAL MOTIVATIONS of many people that makes me a chump, a perennial sucker to be hook, line, and sinkered.
AND sooooooooo, on those occasions when I f-i-n-a-l-l-y realize that someone is operating MINUS-ANY-CODE-OF-ETHICS I am seething for a long long long time.
Would I turn this person in for Mail Fraud?
No.
Cuzza they'd already have my friendly chatty liddle email starting off, "When I unwrapped the parcel you so carefully mailed me, I realized that you are unaware of federal postal regulations, and since not following these regulations constitutes a federal FELONY, I'm sure you want to know the following....
