The music certainly did a lot to create the mood. Such manly men, spare of word, squinting in the sun, never rattled, able to shoot the wings off a fly. A fun fantasy for this city mouse who has never been on a horse and would faint at the sight of a rattlesnake.

*blushing*....aw shucks, I shore like to read yall's writin's too.
I am some laid up today. It's breeding season around here and one of my dairy goat bucks took exception to my attention to one of "his" girls, I foolishly went in the pen to check on her as she didn't look well. Shoulda taken my big stick. He nailed me in the lower back pretty good. Looks like a trip to the bone cracker is in order, if he's not drunk by the time I get there.

Better now. He put me in traction for a few minutes and that stretched everything out. Then we had a whiskey. When I got back I walked out to the goat pens, that old buck charged over daring me to come back in again. I declined.
Coach, I'd be pleased to take you for a ride on a gentle horse, and then show you my buzzworm skin and coyote overcoat collection nailed to the barn. There's even an old cougar hide in front of the fireplace that the housecats like to curl up on...fickle beasts that they are!
We could have a big bowl of elk chile verde with tortillas and a cold Guinness, followed by a brandy and see-gar on the porch. SWMBO is always looking for female houseguests. Too much testy-tosterone around here for the poor gal.

Thanks for the invite, Profe. Sounds like a great time and I would be glad to donate some estrogen,if I have any left, that is
Elk chile verde sounds great and would be a first for me. Love Guinness and, of course, brandy!
I live on Long Island, which is a lovely place, but have never been to the southwest. Everyone I know who has gone there is so impressed with the beauty of the area. They are most impressed by the super clear air and beautiful night skies. Someday.....

I had an art instructor who claimed that the Southwest had better lighting than any other place in the U.S. I suspect that his real attraction was related to something more dazzling but I could be wrong.
