Impressive!
I am especially impressed by Obama's success in increasing the number of stem cell lines eligible for federal funded research and of course his effort to tackle the insurance industry and improve health care options for all Americans.

BTW, Kiara....in defence of my previous flower analogy, delicate flowers sometimes see threats where none exist causing them to be perpetually angry and defensive thorns...so we may both be right.

Cheryl, SWMNBN is now having fun posting totem headlines from right wing papers, day after day with no responses other than an occasional post from herself to herself.
Now that she has acquired complete dominance over a political board, she can finally relax.
Roadsmith, I'm sure that you are familiar with Prof's humorous references to his wife as SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed). Patterned after that is the term, SWMNBN (She Who Must Not Be Named). The term has been used here since July 18, 2008 by nearly every active member to refer to a poster who was suspended from this board by Vendio and now posts elsewhere.
Thanks for asking. I wasn't aware that you did not know.

Thanks, Helen. Yes, I certainly have seen and understood Profe's SWMBO, but for some reason this other acronym just went right past me.
The Urban dictionary is a good place to find such word forms that can't be found by an acronym finder. SWWNBN (She who will not be named) is apparently more common.
It's interesting to note that SWMNBN does not observe the Golden Rule in this regard.

I spent a month in HK,this is my third trip in 18 months, all my siblings have been keeping the airlines busy by flying in from diffeent parts of the world to tend to my parents.
My mother has been in the hospital for 6 months, she had a stroke and then other complications followed, the hospital would like her to leave so they can give her bed to someone else,so we are turning her bedroom into a hospital room and get a day time nurse aide to watch her.
she is on feeding tube.
As for my father,he suffers from esophgeal stricture so he relies on a feeding tube.
He can only walk with a walker,he is deaf in one ear and he has prostate/kidney problem,he is depressed .
His friends are mostly gone and the only enjoyment -eating a regular meal, has been taken away from him,so what is left in life?
Who said we want to live a long life and who said we want to live forever?
The Chinese emperor is greeted by his subjects wishing him a life of 10,000 years.
Can you imagine,10,000 years,?Most seniors ae depressed and what is life if you dont enjoy it?What if money runs out?
What if no one takes care of you?
I dont want to live that long, when I serve no purpose in life and when I no longer find life worth living,I want to just 'expire'!
Sorry Pixiamon,I am not a fee paying Vendio member, but if you strongly feel we freeloaders should leave, you should take it up with Vendio management.
this is the way it is with Rubylane.
May be Vendio could send us through a portal to non existance and we would all expire with no pain,no fuss and no more burden to medicare so the unions and Obama can live happily ever after!

Hwahwa, I'm sorry to hear what you're going through and I know it can't be easy, especially having to travel so far to be near your parents and trying to do your best for them.
It doesn't matter what health care system there is at times as nothing will prevent some things from happening and no matter how much we try to do to help them, it's never enough.

doctors have to keep doing their best unfortunately ,as in the end it is really a waste of time and money.
This is an eye opener for me,you can live a mundane life ,no fuss no wuss,no drinking no smoking,go to bed early and eat right and live beneath your means,it makes no difference,we all have to go.
A friend of mine ,her mother got up one morning and went to the bathroom, she had a stroke and collapsed on the floor, this is the way I would like to go.

hwahwa - I'm sorry to hear about your parents. My mother died a couple of years ago after a long bout with Alzheimers (she was just 73). I could see it in her eyes - the not wanting to go on, I mean. She didn't have to say it. It's terrible because I honestly believe they are in there and they know what's going on. They just can't control it. I couldn't imagine going on like that for years, my independence stripped away. I'll keep you and your parents in my thoughts.
