Thanks SMW,
Can I bounce a couple of ideas off of you? Maybe you could tell me if what I have in mind is possible.
I have office 2000, but not access.
I would like to have a small pop up window to copy and paste the information. Then send it to excel and have the information picked off and put into a spreadsheet.
Also I would need to send form letters from excel picking only the information from a particular auction.

Wynter: I don't know of anything that can do what you described.
As far as I can tell, (and I am not by any stretch of the imagination an expert using
Office), the reason that excel, acess, word, outlook, power point, etc., is integrated is
that you only have to enter data once, in say acess, and that data can me made available for specific functions in other programs such as power point or word.
One of the purposes as far as I can tell is to *eliminate* cutting and pasting.
There may be a way to do what you want but I suspect that you would need the complete Office Suite to do it, and it would require creating macros.
I am sorry I can't be of any real help. I know there are folks round here who do
know. Perhaps they will be along.

Hmmm. If you look at eBud's "Update" page, it's more or less back to normal. And although they're calling eBud "Auction Manager," it's still there as a separate program.
Who the heck knows what's going on...they seem to be afraid to post here. Can't imagine why...
Maybe nothing has really changed, and they're just letting us stew, for some unknown reason. Terrible PR, that's for sure.

I can't remember the name of the software, but it is made by a company call Ivenna. It has many parts to it, but has a decent auction manager side with automating emails and other similar stuff.
Between PayPal, eBay Fees, Billpoint, eBud, and every other sucker out there with their hand in your till, it makes you feel like your working for nothing..
The buyers are trying to get a deal, you have to list things lower in hopes of enticing multiple bidders, just doesn't seem like their is enough left when all is said and done..

I use intuit's quickbooks for my accounting since eBay is only part of my business. It is easy to cut and paste the invoice portion into an email etc. Most of the info I need is on the "My eBay" page and in the EOAs that eBay sends me. Not fullproof, not as convenient maybe, but on my hard drive and I only pay more if I want to upgrade my program-not when eBay changes.

Wonder if that is why all the Eposter and Ebud stuff has been now working lately? I gave up on the counters - they never showed up when I checked my listing of counters under the Tools option. Ebud had the dates all messed up and wouldn't combine auctions.
I did just now go and check out on My Account page and clicked on the link to see what it would cost to upgrade and it came up with a zero after the special price - the 50% off for current users and the credits for what I still have left (one program is over in mid October and the other in August).
One thing I didn't understand - are you required to use their picture hosting or can you still use your ISP hosting? I certainly don't want to pay for photo hosting when I get it for free! Also, I have no desire to have a Showcase, so why should I have to pay for one? Maybe we should overflow their support requests with these questions.

try to switch to excell 2000 and access 2000
once you learn the system, you can just cut and past email address, name, address, zip, sequence or control number, and shipping charges the access does the rest,
invoicing,
labeling,
for post office, int stuff, registered, signature guarantee, and ups stuff
do get started and the you controll the software and the software or application doesn't control you.

Well, I received a reply to the message I sent to Auctiva this morning regarding their new pricing. Here are the highlights:
*****
We have changed our prices to ensure that we can provide a quality product that people
can afford. When we surveyed our customers related to our products and pricing we
found that:
- Most are paying eBay huge monthly fees
- Our PowerTools are a critical part of their sales process and they want to be assured that they are available
- They did not want to be "nickeled and dimed" with per auction charges
- They felt that we provide enough value to pay approximately $15 per month
We have made our best efforts to please the majority of our users.
We have offered our existing customers discounts on upgrading.
Our discounts, now as in the past, are way more generous than eBay (Blackthorne) and others.
We, like all businesses that want to be around, need to evolve. We hope that you will
stay with us. On the other hand, if we do not provide at least $10/month in value to you, perhaps you should use one of the remaining free services.
*****
So I guess it's the "power sellers" Auctiva wants, too. So much for all the little guys who helped get their product off the ground- don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on your way out (there's already precious little padding left there, what with all the other fee increases lately).

For this kind of money, eBud will HAVE to work better than it has lately. Damn thing's so buggy, I've been looking for an alternative for a couple of weeks. I'm trying ALL of the other products out there.
As thing's stand, Auctiva has slim chance of keeping me as a customer. For what they're charging, I might as well buy QuickBooks.
I really don't need or want ePoster.

I almost bought another year of subscription for eBud (mine expired a month ago)but I am soooo glad I didn't !!!!
In the whole month i asn't able to use my expired ebud account, I was able to use AW's management system(which we may be paying for soon I heard).
Then started looking into learning how to do EOA bookkeeping through EXCEL & ACCESS.
I am still learning though.
I've also been forced to learn HTML .
the priest--you are so right on!!
This whole thing about ebud.paypal.goto.ebay etc. etc. all charging more is forcing me to learn how ecommerce really works!
Its definitely taught me to be more solution oriented ...
I do think trying to be a frugal business person has its blessings!!

I decided, since I wasn't going to be posting any more auctions for a couple of weeks (Ebay Holiday!) that I would download the new Auctiva Pro and see what it was all about. Boy, did it mess things up! Now my Ebud has old stuff and didn't import the latest stuff and won't refresh when I try to refresh the data. EPoster looks like it survived the transfer, but I might as well start back at ground zero with Ebud because of all the data that is missing there (glad I still believe in leaving paper trails on all my auction stuff and don't depend on my computer or its programs totally). They better give me another month free on this puppy for all the problems it has caused me.
