Nope, you are wrong. Paypal will not let me have the money unless I sign up and become a member of Paypal. I consider what they are doing is auction interference.

unfortunately, buyers who do not read that paypal is not accepted are likely to be the same kind of buyers who rarely check their email and/or jump the gun and leave negative feedback because they think they have paid and not received their package yet. it is often difficult to defend ourselves from those who do whatever they please or have difficulty in following directions. as sellers we can hope to learn, grow and keep on doing our thing as best as we can.

fortunately, most of our transactions are smooth, friendly and make it all worth while or we move along to our next adventure.

I plan on staying. I was selling stuff on ebay before there was a Paypal and I will probably be selling stuff there after Paypal is gone. I have always accepted checks and money orders only and that is the way I intend to keep it. It just gripes me that I can't conduct my auctions without Paypal getting involved in any way. I also don't feel that it should be necessary for me to put "I Don't Take Paypal" in my auctions. I also don't take Monopoly money, Italian Lira, or bus tokens, but don't think I should have to put that in the TOS either.
The one exception I will make is Bidpay. They will send a Western Union money order without the seller having to do anything. No jumping through hoops, providing credit information, or anything else.

You do?

I think it is VERY unreasonable for someone to bid on an auction the clearly states "Money Orders or Cashiers Checks only", and then gives me a ration of crap after the auction.

The biggest problem I have with these other payment schemes is they are NOT instant cash in the sellers pocket. I ship heavy items (many in the 50 to 150 lb range). I am NOT going to "float" hundreds of $ worth of shipping charges a week, nor am I going to put up with buyers wanting it shipped right away just becuase the paypaled money. You don't like it, DON'T BID!!!

Yes microbes, that is my issue. It is not whether or not I should accept paypal. It's the fact the people do not read the TOS. Just yesterday, I had a buyer send me their response to my EOA. Since you don't accept personal checks, it will take me a few days to get the payment to you. I will get a money order sometime this week. Well, if they had read my TOS, they would have known before they bid, that I don't take personal checks. I realize that getting a money order takes a little bit of effort, but, READ THE TOS. Don't bid if you don't want to/can't get a money order!!!
