I signed up for Billpoint a week or so ago, so that buyers would have another online payment option aside from PayPal. I just had an auction end with BuY it Now and the buyer sent a request for an invoice through BillPoint, which I then sent. Now my question...how long does it take for payment to be credited to your checking account after the buyer pays? And are you notified through an email that they have paid? This is the first one for me, so sorry if I sound stupid!
Thanks

Yes you will get an email asking/telling you your bidder has paid and you should ship the item. I have had payments in my checking account as short as 3 days.

You'll get an email notification that the buyer has paid. You can also check your Billpoint account history from the link on your "My Ebay" page, to see if it's been paid or not.

You will receive an e-mail from Billpoint.
I've had payments credited to my online checking account as quickly as ONE DAY after they hit my Billpoint account.

I have just recently started using Billpoint as a buyer and look for it in auctions. I am more likely to bid if you have it, especially for buy it now. I will not use paypal.

If the customer pays with an eCheck you will get the following two notices:
Dear Libbyparsons,
Ronald xxxxxxx at [email protected] has initiated an electronic check
payment
for xxxxx xxxx, xxxxx, xxxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxx item #556xxxxxx.
After
Billpoint has processed this payment and the electronic check has
cleared,
you will be notified by e-mail to ship this item.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD NOT SHIP THIS ITEM UNTIL BILLPOINT HAS
NOTIFIED
YOU THAT THIS PAYMENT HAS CLEARED.
Dear libbyparsons,
This e-mail confirms that the electronic check payment by
Ronale xxxxxxx at [email protected] for xxxxxxx x xxxx xxx
xxxxx xxxx, item #556xxxxxx has cleared. You
should now ship the item(s) to the address below.
Billpoint will deposit the payment for this order directly
into your checking account. For more information on your
payments, please see the Deposits section of your My Billpoint
account.
There is more info on these two notifications, but this should show you how the eCheck works. Also eBay gets less if the customer uses an eCheck.
The time for it to clear varies, but is usually 3 - 4 days.

It has been as quick as 1 day for some of my Billpoint deposits to hit my bank, but its not the norm, 2-3 days.
I am beginning to prefer Billpoint over PayPal, since reading some of the 'horror' stories about frozen accounts etc.
I had one person pay by e check, and she said on her end, that her check cleared right away, but they still sent me that notice about waiting. I didn't wait, and sent it out anyway.
I have tooken off all logos to PayPal on my new ads, and even put 'Billpoint preferred, but I also take checks or money orders'
I still have my PayPal account, but would like to eventually drop it, if more buyers on ebay would use Billpoint. I have a business account on PayPal, and the %'s of what they take on credit cards vs Billpoint, are not that much different.
