We use Ebud to send our congratulatory (EOA)emails after each auction. Now that Ebay has changed their email system, Ebud can not gather the winning bidders email addresses.
Ayone else having these problems? Has anyone heard of an update or a fix for this?

Thank you in advance for your time.

eBay's server setting have changed. This happens periodically, and causes problems with all the software programs.

eBud (Auctiva) should have an update out soon, I'd imagine, if they are still supporting eBud. Drop them a line, or check Auctiva's boards.

Did you check the Auctiva website? I think there was a fix for this on there. You have to do something in your Ebay Preferences so Ebud can pull out the winner's email addresses. Also post on the Ebud Support so they can work on it for you.

Actually I tried the recommended fix and it doesn't work for me. When I pull down the bookmark for "sign in to ebay", it comes up "page not found".
There is a confusing bit on the auctiva home page about updates for download but nothing that is apparently just ebud alone. It appears as if you have to download a collective package.
Anyone helpful info would be greatly appreciated as the techs at ebud are very slow about getting stuff fixed.

My son is having the same problem. He got the update on Activa but it did not resolve the problem. He said to not 'confirm data' on the auction card. This is the only way he has found to work around it. If you 'confirm data' you get their ebay sig name on the email line., not etheir email addy.

Hello eBud users. The current version of eBud is 2.60. Open your tools window and if it doesnt say "2.60" then you dont have the current version. 2.60 replaced 2.60B so if you have 2.60B you need to update. eBay's change regarding emails has required a change in eBud. Version 2.60 will retrieve the emails of bidders but if you have your preferences set to access auction page for reserve info you need to set this to NEVER for now. We are working on a fix for this. CONFIRM DATA will cause an error as well so if you want to confirm data just view the auction page and see that you have the right bid and bidder.

As for signing in for emails, this is done automatically by eBud. You dont need to use the signin bookmark unless you want to see emails in the browser window itself.

We should be releasing 2.61RC1 soon to correct the bug with CONFIRM DATA and for retrieving reserve info.

Hi eBud...

I'm glad to see you responding so quickly to questions...

I notice that Version 2.60 is for Power Tools...not eBud alone.

I have 449 days left on my tracking license...will this upgrade to Power Tools be included in my current tracking license at no charge? Will my license remain at the current 449 days?

BTW, I'm running Version 2.53, and having no problem getting the email addresses, with the preferences set as you suggest.

I'm frustrated as hell with eBud. A couple of weeks ago it change all my ending times anywhere from 1931 - 2015 - 2036. I like to have my auctions come listed by ending dates its easier for me to track them that way. Well needless to say with the hodge podge of dates eBud was assign my auctions it was a REAL MESS.
Last week I updated to the 2.60B. It did not fix my problem. Their advise was to go into each auction page and manually change the date. I had 4 months worth of auction on.
It took one whole afternoon to do this changing...BOY, WAS I MAD!
NOW...I see I have to update again.
So I do, or at least I tried to. It updated Auctiva Poster just fine(which I don't want or use and I don't even know what it is).
Auctiva Manager(eBud)won't up-date. It gives me some error message and freezes my machine.
Twice now I've had to cut power so I could restart my computer.

Can anyone tell me what my next move should be?
I also have 400+ days left on my tracking license.

Oh, no.

Thanks for the heads-up. I guess I'll skip that upgrade for now. If you read their page, you'll see they have a 2.61 in the works...

Yep...

I have 449 days left too, and I am scared as hell to update after all the horror stories lately.

Had to manually send out 60+ emails last yesterday, cause it wouldn't retrieve them.

I'm using 2.53 as well Toke, and it won't work for me...hmmm that's strange.

No response to my question from support yet either.

I DON'T want to lose my 449 days by upgrading, because I REFUSE to be fleeced by yet another "lifetime" program.

That's what I paid John for, and what I got was the shaft. (yet again)

eBud, PLEASE tell us PAID IN FULL users how we can use the program that we paid for!

Thank You!

Because I'm persistant nad can't stand when something doesn't work right.
I tried again to down load the new 2.60 version.
It went through the download again of Auctiva Poster 2.60. Then it goes on to down load the Auctiva Manager(eBud) and I noticed it is STILL the 2.60B version. So I cancelled the download rather then suffer another freeze-up.
So the fact is they DON'T have the new version of 2.60 for eBud.

The eBud rep lied to us.

I downloaded 2.60B last week and it didn't change my Tracking License it is at 449 days also.

I haven't had any auctions end since the eBay changes. So I don't know if this version(2.60B) will work or not.

What a mess, I want JOHN back.

It took them over 3 days to get back to me on a question I had.

hey pack,

response time with John was about 3 minutes at most.

(no matter WHAT time you wrote to him)

I wish Auctiva would have bought his commitment to perfection and satisfaction instead of his codes.

What a loss...

bluepaloma,
Did you get 2.60 or 2.60B, could you look and see what one you got.
When I went to the up-date download site it said I was downloading 2.60 but the eBud program was 2.60B.

Anyway...last week when I downloaded 2.60B it brought all my auctions with it. 4 months worth, BUT I had to re-set all the settings, and it had wiped out my EOA, Item Shipped, address request letters. I had to do them all over again.

I am not IMPRESSED one little bit with the way things are going with eBud. I suppose when I have to upgrade again it will be the same thing

For those who install the new "Auctiva Manager" and find their data is missing it means you must have had ebud installed to a folder other than the default (c:\Program Files\eBud). What you need to do is locate your ebud folder and copy all the files in that folder(and any subfolders) to the new Auction Manager folder which is c:\Program Files\Auctiva\Auctiva Manager

Everyone else. We will release a new version within 24 hours. 2.61RC1. This should take care of the problems created by the changes at eBay regarding email addresses.

Sorry I cant reply to everyone individually but I wanted to at least let you know we are on top of the situation.

eBud,
Your right, I have an eBud folder and an Auctiva Folder inside Auctiva is Auctiva Manager - Auctiva Poster.
Can I just drag the eBud file into the Auctiva Manager?

packer-
'preciate the quick response-I went to properties and couldn't find which version but I know only enough about computers to want to blow them up.

ebud-
I know this probably sounds stupid but how do I copy those files once I've located them?
Also am I going to lose some data like packer lost? Because if that's the case, I'd rather just use 2.53 or whatever the last "latest" version was and I guess wait for this "final fix" version which would mean uninstalling 2.6. What do you suggest (I can't afford to lose any info)?

looked up how to copy files and it's still not taking. I also have tried just getting current data to be received and it just gets stuck on receiving data. My info is all correct in user info...

Actually started loading data and is taking forever...and is loading more than just current on-auction items so at this rate it would take days with the volume of business I do.

I am using version 2.60B of eBud that I downloaded a coule of days ago.
I first had problems with the sign on thing to retrieve email addy's, and the drop-down menu did not work so I had to hunt around on eBay to find the sign on page. (I think there's a link on most of eBay's pages that says sign-on or log-on). Now it's working like a charm and retrieving addresses no problem.

My problem is with eposter, auctionposter, auctiva poster...or whatever the heck it is called this week.
I also downloaded 2.60B to upgrade this, and while I can create auctions the same as ever, when I go to post, I get an "Internal Error: if this persists contact customer support" message. This has been going on for a couple of days, and the only way I can post auctions is to do a bulk upload to MisterLister, which doesn't make me feel very good as ML is erratic in it's dependability as well.
eBud,
any solutions? anyone else having problems with posting auctions?

Well I had a dutch auction end and find as others did that I cannot get email addresess to send out invoices.

Is this a current problem with the latest version of ebud.Or have they fixed the problem.

I want to stick with Ebud as it works well for me.

I did the upgrade and have no serious problems with using it that haven't been addressed.

My problem is that I really do not want the auctionposter part of this and will not use it. Now I suppose they will make me pay for it. Way back when I actually purchased that program and never did like it.

Sure would like to know if I still have over a year left on my eBud license. At a minimum, I would like to see separate pricing for each part of their software so I can continue with the eBud part of it without being forced to take the whole package.

FYI:
Auction Amigo is not having problems with the changes. I've always liked ebud, still do, but when you have auctions ending you have to send emails and i don't care to cut and paste anymore.

I also lost all my current data when I upgraded to the latest Ebud. It pulled in old data from 2000 and totally erased (even my back up copy) everything that was from 2001. I had to uninstall the Auction Manager (Ebud) portion of the program and then reinstall it and then pull out all the auctions that Ebay still had and manually add the information such as Paid, Shipped, etc. WHAT A JOB! Took me an entire weekend to just get something that I could use. All the buyer addresses I had entered were gone forever - had to reenter those too. Actually it was like starting over with a brand new program.

This is getting really scary.

eBud says:

For those who install the new "Auctiva Manager" and find their data is missing it means you must have had ebud installed to a folder other than the default (c:\Program Files\eBud). What you need to do is locate your ebud folder and copy all the files in that folder(and any subfolders) to the new Auction Manager folder which is c:\Program Files\Auctiva\Auctiva Manager

I do have the 2 seperate files. When I'm running eBud I do a back-up after every session.

I decided to go in and take a look at my back-up files, there EMPTY all of them for both eBud and auctiva manager.

Holy Cow!

I want to know where they went and if they can be retreved?

Someone really dropped the ball on this one.
I want my $40.00 bucks back and I'll go find a program I can count on

It seems eBud always has some major/minor glitches with every new upgrade. I know this comes too late for some...but, I hope it will help others.

I took this advice from eBud's own page. It's gone now, but I think Auctiva should reprint it and keep it there!

Before downloading ANY upgrade do this:

**MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF EBUD**

1. Close all programs including eBud

2. Go to C:\Program Files

3. Put your cursor over the eBud folder, right-click the mouse and select "Copy"

4. Put your cursor over the desktop (i.e. not over a folder), right-click the mouse and select "Paste" -- You should see a "copy" dialog box telling you that the files are being copied to a folder called "Copy of eBud." If you get an error message while copying -- do not proceed as you do not have a backup of your software.

5. Write down where you stored your folder called "Copy of eBud."

6. Now you may proceed with installing eBud by double-clicking on the installer file.

I've been doing this as insurance ever since Version 2.01. If your upgrade messes up...you've lost nothing. You still have a complete working program. I'm running the copy of 2.53 I made last night...working fine. It seems to me the problems are with 2.60 NOT with 2.53.

I'd say...if your 2.53 is working, don't upgrade until they fix the problems with the various versions of 2.60.
