canvid13,

You had time to read my post before hitting that submit button.

Saying

"I'm a Canadian seller and I hate selling to Canadians, especially like this whiny baby."

is insulting. (bolding is mine)

You are issued an informal warning.

"you are too geared up to understand what I'm talking about....the foreign thing just referred to Sellers that lump Canada in with Europe, etc...lighten up!"

Kraftdinner: I'm not 'geared up' whatever that is. I am passionate about the sensible running of a business. Why not lump Canada in with Europe? I'm in the US...Canada is a foreign country to me no matter what continent it's on. Shipping costs are about the same. I sent a book to Germany via slow boat for $4.00. No complaints from the Germans. I'm going to go stand next to Whinecooler and start flinging some mud up Canada way. I'm getting a bit tense cause just about every whiny buyer or potential buyer here lately seems to be Canuckian.
It ain't our fault you have to pay 6 US bucks a pack for smokes or outrageous local sales tax. 15%? according to:
http://www.hg.org/1454.html

And I've seen the overflowed parking lot garbage cans at the malls in the Upper Pennisula Michigan towns near the border. Canadians come down to shop and wear their new shoes and new clothes back home and chuck what they were wearing so they don't have to pay Canadian Sales Tax when they cross back over.

http://www.gov.on.ca/FIN/english/nrerst.htm

And our time answering e-mails is an expense.
Typical auction involving a Canadian:
Auction clearly states US ONLY. Doesn't stop the Canadian (on a fairly heavy item) e-mailing and NOT asking if I could please ship that item to Canada but DEMANDING that I explain my shipping terms and do it HIS way.
Ok fine...I could have just said no..I don't ship to Canada. But what the heck...he sounded like he really needed the item.
There was a total of 13 incoming e-mails to complete this transaction including his "shipping demands" which insisted that I remember to lie on the custom form and check 'gift'.

Jeez who needs it! From now on we sell/ship everywhere Internationally except Canada.

hey moderator:
It's not ok to call someone a whiny baby but
it's ok to publically "laugh" and ridicule my posts simply because I stated sound business logic which is presented in any Community College level small business management textbook? I don't recall attempting to be humorous in any of my posts on this thread.
AW needs a seller-only forum for those of us who are making an honest attempt to run a business.

I can't get over how this has turned into a Canadian bashing thread, whether you live here or not. What does a Canadian coming over to the U.S. to buy shoes (the money goes into your economy)and dumping their boxes have to do with ANYTHING???

Why do you stereo-type ALL Canadians as being whiney?

Oh, and BTW, I have dual citizenship...I was born in S.C., but now live in Canada, so I try to understand both sides......

Man oh man, moderator...finally!!!
I thought you were sleeping!
Is the ghost of Ross alive? (the bowdlerizing of a name and a the all caps...and of course we all Love your dog too!)

Tapatti my full time gig is freelance video. I have a CPA, I have an atty.
You know even if the clients are paying me $100 an hour or I am getting $20 for a book, I still do understand the realities of giving a customer a break, and I also know where to draw the line.

This thread threatens a lot of sellers because sales are low for some.

Twinsoft's frustration says it best. You gotta understand KD, that enough clients ask you wo work a 12 hour day for a 10 wage you start turning them down. At least that's what I do. Analogy over.

Name calling and bashing is a Standard Operating Procedure for AW of Old. I am surprised it has gone on this long in this thread.

I agree, ask, before the auction. Don't expect that you won't pay for shipping somehow in the final item.

Good luck

This thread is now locked. If adults cannot act like adults, then they will be treated like children.

How sad!
