A great big thank you to all who posted to this thread. I am relatively new and this is some of the best info I have received so far! I, too, only provided some of the info suggested when emailed, but no longer! It will be in there for all to see from now on! Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meplz14,
I looked at a few of your auctions and they look good! The only constructive comment I would make is to take out the line that Hawaii and Alaska shipping rates are higher. The only time they should be higher is when the package weighs a considerable amount and for clothes the rates should align with other States. May turn off some bidders. Otherwise, good job

Since I just picked up a beautiful size 8 Dior suit, that still has its original tags, I really appreciate the measurement information. I do have a few questions, though. Will I have any problems listing this as a Dior and showing the tags? This suit is wool, should I go ahead and list now or wait until next fall? Thanks for any opinions.

cariad.....who would keep it, except I haven't worn a size 8, since I was about 8.

i sell designer clothes on yahoo, ebay and veniza.com fashion auction and found that many customers are not getting the sizes right when it comes to european sizes. I decided I will make up a graphic image to show the size conversions. I already emailed veniza with the suggestion and they said they would highly consider adding more information on size conversions.

YPayRetail - You said

"My partner and I were department managers at Nordstorm's #1 store for many years. The reason the size 2-4 range does not sell as well is the abundance of that size. As a buyer, say we had 100 suits we could purchase. We would purchase 50 in the 2-4 range, possibly 15 6's, 15 8's. Which leaves only 20 suits left for all sizes over 8. Just like collectibles, when there are few and you find them they will sell for higher."

I must say that I'm surprised to hear this. I understand that the 'average' (American) woman wears a size 14. I always figured that sizes 2-4 didn't sell because very few people can wear that size.

I would list the Dior suit now. Make sure you list NWT in the auction title.

Suits that were sold were sold in a higher quantity to the 2-4 size buyer. That does not mean size 2 is the most common female size. Just that at our Nordy, size 2 shoppers for suits purchased the most, therefore we bought the largest quantity in that size. It is all relative to the department. Just as with women's shoes, size 8 was the most popular, therefore more pairs bought. A size 4 foot would get one pair of a particular style etc.

You're actually selling at Veniza? I tried way back in the begining but it seems like there is not much going on there. I had such hopes for that site. Seemed like a great idea to have a niche site devoted to fashion auctions. I think the idea is great, I just think they are concentrating too much on online advertising where they're basically trying to lure the eBay crowd away from eBay.
