There are MANY ways to access the internet with Libary's, Coffee Houses and the such. As for the email problem I signed up for POBOX.com about 6 years ago and have had the same email address ever since. Not only that but they forward the mail to multipal accounts so I have a Yahoo email account which has copies of all my email sent to it along with my regular email account. I go in every few days and delete the old email so it does not use pass the 6 mg limit Yahoo lets you have. This has save my butt on more than one occassion when my other email has been down. I just log into the Yahoo account and copies of my email are there waiting. For the $15.00 per year POBOX.com charges it is very cheap insurance.

What you did shows a total lack of respect for the bidders. It is this type of "seller non-performance" (as Ebay put it) that undermines the hard work and dedication that other sellers have put into their online businesses.
The Ebay community would be best served if your suspension was permanent and included the termination of any future accounts you attempt to open.
There is absolutely no excuse for failing to fulfill your obligations after receiving payment and that includes your own death or illness. If you offer something for sale and accept payment for it, you have a responsiblity to make whatever arrangements are needed to insure that your customers receive their items. This means that a freind or family member should know your email and ebay username and passwords as well as a basic enough knowledge to complete your transactions should you be involve in an accident or become ill. (this should be the same person that is going to deposit your paychecks for you, feed your cat, sign the hospital admittance forms, etc)

You can re-register, it is done all the time. Use a different address, city and credit card.

All I know is if I had to drive 125 miles each way to access the internet, I would NOT have bothered creating a MY EBAY page to inform my buyers to pull my contact info.
I would have created a new user ID and pulled all of my buyers contact info and called them myself. Sure, the phone bill would have been a little cost, but you could have cleared everything up.
I myself have 3 computers ALL with internet access on different ISP's. I have no worries at all, but if I did manage to crash all 3 of my computers, I could build one for under $200 or just go to ANY computer store and do what I need to there. There are hundreds of places to get access to the internet !
