Okay, seriously now. I just tried to look at their About Us page just to see if there were any pictures and guess what, YOU HAVE TO BE A REGISTERED MEMBER TO READ THE ABOUT US PAGE!

What web site on earth would password protect their about us page?

Good Morning all

Here's a simple question for you all. If someone came into your home or place of business would you let them trash you or your business? I think not. If someone doesn't like my home they don't have to be in it. And anyone who has a problem with my home can be shown the door via my size 12 if necessary. There are better and easier ways to voice a comment than slamming GT or his website in a forum that he happens to own. I neither blame him nor his staff for removing deragatory comments from HIS chat rooms. Let's be realistic here....if you don't like porn movies then why constantly rent them?

If this wasn't so pathetic, it might be amusing. In the whole scheme of the world, it sure seems like there must be better things people can do with their time, then perpetuate an argument that makes everyone sound like children.

I am in Michigan, and I know there are many agencies always looking for volunteers to help with the ill, the hungry, the homeless, etc. I am sure there must be similar situations in your State. Perhaps, since you all seem to have an abundance of time, you might wish to volunteer to do something positive in the world, rather than negative.

It seems to be that there are some of you who just don't know when to let go or move on. This might be a clinical problem. Perhaps professional help might be called for.

Have a nice day everyone. I have too much work to do and a family to take care of and not enough time to sit in front of a computer throwing insults back and forth.

Knottedlady....some of us also like to donate our time as watchdogs if you will. Protecting consumers is also a noble cause.

Thank you for your comments otherwise.

I would also like to add this:
knottedlady.

I would ask that you take this post and post in all BidBay chat rooms as it fits them to a T and they clearly need it more than us.

What I have seen people do there to those that speak their mind or do not goosestep in line with the rest of the koolaid kids is frightening.

The BidBayers come over here and tell us how pathetic we are for hurling insults at a website...but the members there tear each other to shreds on a daily basis.

No one is safe from this either...all you have to do is offend the clique.

And that is the major reason they censor the boards...to hide this fact from the rest of the internet community...but guess what it doesn't work.

Well
First thing first
Good morning to ALL my cyber friends

Now to the topic witch is:

Why does Bidbay do this?

Me think that the fact is
that with "US" or without the "US"

BIDBAY.COM IT HERE TO STAY

So with that on mind take it like a game of poker, the cards are on the table

You have a choice 1- play, 2-step out and wait for the next game, 3 fold and walk away.

please noted the word "US"
and with that on mind i say that

The opinion express above are just for comparison purpose
only. Please be advised that your brain mileage may change, ME think it Will
and to some it will be a total recall.

KnottedLady - Hello and welcome to AW. I agree that professional help may be called for, but I have different reasons.

Perhaps the CEO and others could hire professionals to manage and run Bidbay or study some of the more successful corporations.

Hi DrJon, good to see you again.

As to "why does Bidbay do this", I have another question.

I felt that perhaps I was being too harsh and that if Bidbay were truly number 2, international as the CEO says, I should take another look.

I opened the category of Businesses for Sale. On the home page the number (699) is next to this category so I thought that meant there were 699 businesses for sale.

When that particular page opened up, the list was for Featured Auctions, All Other Auctions and Hot Items. There was only one page of listings that I could find, which numbered approximately 54 auctions. I could find no way to get to another page, more listings for this category, etc.

My question is, what does the (699) beside the category on the home page mean? Is that simply a number to designate categorys as for example dolls might be category number 245, etc. or what purpose does that number serve?

Those numbers represent the ammount of "items" in a category. That is how they claim to have over a million listings. One single seller has over half a million "items" listed.

Go in there and list one single dutch auction and say that you have a quantity of 20,000 matchsticks and their overall numbers will jump up by 20,000.

They once claimed that all auction sites count like this, which we all know is not true.

Thank you auctiongaurd. I did go back and check, and there were five Dutch auctions for 100 items each, two Dutch auctions for 24 items each, one auction for two items and the others were all for one item in this particular category, so the number of items was actually 699.

Thanks again, woulda taken me weeks to figure that out.

Most auction sites that post numbers that way post the number of actual LISTINGS they have, not the number of items. BidBay may have over one million ITEMS on their site, but no way do they have one million listings.

One (1) user in particular is credited with over 500,000 items (but only 54 pages of listings) and the fanini's store has only three listings, but credited with 60,000 toward the front page numbers (he has 3 auctions each dutch with a quantity of 20,000).

That's almost half of the items right there... between two sellers. Out of those 560,000 items (give or take some), how many actually have bids?

Lets not forget over 100,000 recipes listed in the Bogus Buck Category.

BidBay...the number 1 recipe auction site on the net...yahooo. I can't believe they made.

I only dreamt they would be the number 2 recipe auction site on the net because as we all know eBay has the recipe auctions pretty much monopolized.

Without the vision of the BidBay CEO and his staff who have worked effortlessly we would not have this many recipes available....hold on...this just in...

Did you know you can type recipe in a search engine and find these for free?

Uh oh...someone email the Federal Reserve they just might have to lower interest rates to contain the backlash in this recipe market crash.

Hey auctiongaurd...don't bogart that koolaid..LOL
