I believe the rule is: Never assume anything - that's where people tend to get into trouble

And do you HONESTLY think that knowing how just about everyone here knows my main Ebay ID that I am going to say wether or not I did business with this person?

Could be a bidder on one of my auctions.

But maybe he isn't.

Could be someone I thought about buying from.

But maybe he isn't.

STUMBLE may mean I found this person out of the blue. Then again, it may also mean I found him while doing research on a bidder or seller I may be doing business with. And then again, he may be THE person I would have done business with had I not checked his feedback.

Guess you'll never know. But then again, it's really none of YOUR business how I found this person.

Amy said: "Also, some people are unaware that feedback or responses to feedback that include the URL to another page ('see http://whatever.com for the emails we exchanged.') will be removed if the recipient requests it."

From my little try at being a detective, I would say there is one person posting here who is VERY unaware that is against the rules...as they do it frequently!!

------

Maybe the seller is aware but figures most bidders aren't going to "request" the removal of the feedback. Lots of advertising with those who don't remove it.

LOL!

Just give me a hint already!

I want to check this guy's feedback ouit myself. If your hint is against any rules, the moderators will delete it----not sentence you to jail!

C'mon.

Ahem!! Can we get back on topic here and quit with the sniping at each other - please??

It's blatantly obvious to all of us that the two of you don't get along. Might I suggest (not for the first time, hopefully for the last time), that utilising the IGNORE feature might be the solution for both of you?

Amy, don't let her get to you. She's posted crap about me on the eBay boards as well, using other phony IDs. I suspect if we all ignore her she'll go away.

Marie...she doesn't get to me. (but I'm sincerly touched by your concern, thank you!)

But how on earth could anyone complain about you? I think to most of us you are someone to look up to. There is much we can learn from you.

Would someone PLEASE give me a hint about WHO this 100+ neg person is?

I just want to check it out. STOP worrying so much about what the dreaded moderator will do. If it's against rules, they'll delete it.

Jesus Christ, you all sound like you're afraid of your own shadow! Are yo sooo preoccupied with the letter of the AW rules, that you cannot even give a hint???

You sound like you're so obsessed with rules that you would stop at a stop sign in the middle of the desert with no traffic for hundreds of miles!

Stupid.

All of you sound like a bunch of fat ugly hens who have nothing better to do except engage in boring chit chat.

I have deleted one of your posts because your comments are insulting to the participants of this thread. I am issuing a warning and would suggest strongly you review the CGs before posting again. To continue in this current manner will result in the suspension of your posting privileges.

I'm truly concerned with your use of the term sniping. Some of us snipers are easily offended.

It's too bad.

All I wanted to do was get a look at this 100+ neg feedback guy---but you're so scared of your own shadow that you cannot even give me a hint as to who it is. Why? Because the moderators might get mad at you! Oooooooo!

How I envy your ability to hang onto your childhood and naive ways.

brianbrain, the way to get around this is to post your email address here with a very, very nice request to ExecutiveGirl to send it to you privately.
Hint: referring to people as "fat ugly hens" probably won't help you.

Jereth: This is the only ID I use on AW and have only used this one in a VERY long time - ever since I changed my ID some time ago and ONLY use this ID. I've only said something to or about you on ONE other thread, and you were involved in that thread. If someone else is "posting crap" about you, take it up with them - NOT me. If someone else is posting crap about you, it just means there is someone else who is not your biggest fan. Deal with it.

And BTW - I'm not "going away". I am here to stay

I respect the posts of both EG and Amy in this thread and others. However, is seems that they are currently involve in what some might say is a personality battle. After about the first three posts, the main topic of this thread has changed several times. It has really turned into a verbal riot.

I'm wondering why a person can't create a thread and not be harrassed about the topic, content or need for the subject. I think a few people invloved here need to ask themselves this question. It's only a person opinion and has nothing to do with anyone's real life. Tomorrow, most people who have read this thread will have forgotten all about it. Hopefully, they will leave their anger behind also.

Thank you, Yeager. Anyone reading this thread can see that this was just a simple "take a look at this" thread until the 5th post, when I was personally attacked.

is seems that they are currently involve in what some might say is a personality battle

I've publicly asked Amy to put me on ignore, and that I would do the same - as it is very apparent we do not agree on anything. I did have her on ignore for a while, but received several emails from other posters that I was still being bad-mouthed by her, so the "ignore" feature does not work.

I would GLADLY put her on ignore again if she would agree to do the same. It really only works if both posters do the same.

Yeager You are so right!! It was a post that did not need to get personal.

ExecutiveGirlI enjoy your posts. Please continue to put certain people on your "ignore" list.. Some people just can't stick to the topic.
I would agree with you...that I too would NOT bid on that sellers items due to the neg. feedback they post.

Isn't the feedback a way you can tell what kind of person you might be dealing with? So...they're public records (sorta speak).
Enough said!!!!!

I seen one seller who has about 2000+ and 87-, 48- were in the past 6 months and counting. From what the feedback says it seems that the seller always gets the wrong address. He also seems very cocky with his responses.

BTW the only reason I know all this is because I WAS thinking of bidding on one of his auctions.

ExecutiveGirl - Thank you for your insights about bad sellers. I wish that their ID's could be posted so we could ALL avoid their auctions. I've been on the bad end of bad sellers way too many times to ignore posts like that. Because of your posts (I lurk a lot) I now check very carefully each and every seller I buy from, along with every buyer on my auctions.

amy - Personal vendettas are better handled in e-mail. Thank you.

ExecGirl: I believe that (from reading many of her posts here on AW) she does not put you on "ignore" because she enjoys antagonizing you.

Some people (no names mentioned!) seem to get jollies from being rude and condescending to others who, obviously, have more to offer than they do. Perhaps it's just an immature way of lashing out behind the fascade of anonymity provided online. That type of behavior is glaringly obvious to the many of us who have the intellect to realize their shortcomings.

Sorry people...but just as one person has the right to start a thread on any subject, so do others have a right to question "why".

Have fun with your roast

What is the purpose of this thread (starting with the original post)? We can't go look at this seller's entire feedback received and left, because of board policy. So we are forced to look only at the small sample that EG has chosen for us to view. We have no way of knowing if that is a representative sample. Some here have questioned EG's motivation in providing that sample. It appears to be so that people could "Bash" the seller's comments, attitude, etc.
Under the revised CGs, we are allowed to discuss auction listings, but not the seller. Yet EG's post of April 2, 2001 09:37:22 PM insults this unknown seller. When someone else pointed this out, EG accused them of BEING this unknown seller.

Yeager asks why a person can't create a thread without being harassed about the topic. How about because the person is violating the CGs? This entire thread violates CGs, yet Moderators have chosen to address a perceived personality clash instead.

SHEESH! what exactly is in the coffee you drink? Switch to decaf!!!
IMNSHO, EG, as always, is giving an eye-opening example of what is really out there. I don't care if she has had an interaction with this bidder. I care that, regardless of immature attacks on her threads, she is still a responsible member of the eBay community who chooses to share her findings and experiences to help raise the awareness of others. Thank you for the reminder to double check FB before we bid, to decide if this is someone we want to do business with.
I appreciate your continued efforts, Executive Girl. I also apologize on behalf of those who can't see their own reflection in the mirror.
Back to the topic:
I would think someone with such a blatant disregard for eBay etiquette would be NARU'd? Wouldn't you?
