Now I have some seller, I paid him with billpoint as soon as the auction ended. He sends me a bill a few hours anyway. So I figure it was just an oversight right?? I e-mail him back and HIS E-MAIL BOUNCES! I read the reason and it tells me the user has banned my e-mail address from contacting him! What kind of seller bans the buyer from contacting him just hours after the auction ends?????? So this guy has my money and I'm thinking I probably won't be getting my stuff from him. I tried to get his contact info, but was blocked. I have no way now of contacting him
What was that email to safeharbor about information that doesn't work???
I wanna cry. When will this end???

I thought that you could mail him through "Send this auction to a friend", and it would actually route through Ebay..yes, no?

Actually A person blocking an email address through there provider would take from 24 to 72 hour to happen not all providers offer this feature for free they charge an extra free to block email addresses.
Also since you piad for the Item through billpoint and your Item dont show up you can file a charge back with your credit card company they will get your money back and bill point will charge the seller $10 for the charge back on top of the amount you charge back no quetions asked.
you will lose nothing and the seller gets a $10 penalty for his fadualent sale.

how do you do a chargeback and what procedures do I have to do? How long do I have to wait before requesting one?
This guy can e-mail me but I can't email him....this is ridiculous. He didn't officially respond to my fb yet but he emailed me to call me a liar and say I never paid. I have the print out receipt and the email billpoint sent me to prove it. I tried emailing him back again and it bounced back once more with the same message, that the user banned my email. I'm looking for him to post retalitory fb anytime now. I don't care if he does, I was a very quick payer and I didn't do anything to him to deserve what he is up to. He's got a whole bunch of these auctions running, hopefully people will check his fb and see that something's up. This guy seems to be using his own server, because I traced the ip and it shows up as him instead of a provider. That's spooky...
I e-mailed safeharbour/safeharbor. I had lost where I wrote their email down. I never got a response to the others I emailed them about that fb that guy left. It's still there. He said I was good at sucking his ****. Hopefully ebay will fix that too.
I've gotten 3 people NARU (with the help of sharkbaby)for this weird stuff in a week. Maybe this is God's way of cleaning up ebay?? lol Hey sharkbaby, we're making quite a team here lmao.
I need some strong beer tonight. Getting drunk, eating popcorn, and watching a good movie. What could be better??

This is what it says when it bounces. I tried to delete all identifying info per AW GL. I'd never ban a buyer from contacting me like that. This is the guy's own server from the ip trace I did. So much for trying to save money on shipping supplies....I'll stick with Wal-mart.

Well, I don't know about the rest of your story, but I recently had a seller whose ISP bounced my mail back to me every time I tried to contact them. I don't know why and the seller never explained it. But I was able to contact them via the "Mail this auction to a friend" link in the auction. I paid by PayPal. They sent my items. I now am completing another sale with them via the same method. It is a pain! But it seems to be some technical glitch with their ISP and not any malicious act on their part.

This guy just emailed me again...gonna go see what it says this time. Maybe I should just block him since he's already blocked me.

I can't remember what it says exactly. But I think it says it is a permanent error. I never pay any attention to it anymore as the letter just sits in the Outbox for a few minutes and then it just gets delivered. At times my ISP is having problems and the same thing happens so it can be on either end.
Double check to make sure that you have keyed his address in correctly because all it takes is one simple typo for the e-mail to be rejected.

I'm not making any typos...I'm not even typing it. I just hit reply. Then I copy/pasted. no good.
I can't believe this guy trying to say I didn't pay. I'll be happy to do a chargeback on him. He won't get my business again. Wal-mart is much more reliable than that.
I just walked over to a yardsale and got a bunch of stuff. Whenever I get depressed I start buying stuff. I got a bag of really old spice jars (minus the lids) for fifty cents. I figure I'll try selling something besides clothes, books, cds, or ballcards.

It looks from the message above like he sells using Andale. If you paid via Billpoint before getting his end of auction notice it might have messed up his system since you paid directly without entering your info through Andale. If he keeps track of things that way he probably doesn't see any record of your payment there and thinks you haven't paid. However, he should be able to do some digging in his Billpoint account and see that he's been paid.
As for the daemon message, it could be a transitory problem, or he (or his email provider) may have blocked your ISP's domain (and not your email address personally) as a spam-prevention measure.
It sounds like an honest miscommunication to me. I sympathize with your situation, but leaving a neg this soon and without knowing all the facts seems a little hasty. It could probably have been worked out to a good conclusion for both of you.
Nice spice jar purchase, though.

Redskinfan...it is not unusual for an ISP to black a domain...or for a person to block a domain they have had problems with. They don't know you have that domain and were probably unaware you were being blocked.
If you had clicked on the Andale link in his auction you might have been able to make contact with him.
Instead you gave him a neg a little over 5 hours after winning the auction.
Doesn't surprise me that he negged you 2 hours after your neg (and after he says he mailed your merchandise) and told you to stay away from his auctions.
5 hours wasn't much time to try and solve a problem before you dumped on this seller.

I tried to solve the problem. Kind of hard when I can't talk to him. He refused to do anything about it. I neg him right after he said "usually people like you are deadbeats." I couldn't respond to anything. He lied and said I had threatened him. Hard to threaten someone you can't even e-mail. I didn't like his attitude. I don't block my buyer's domains. I communicate with my buyers. He didn't try to work anything out with me. He will probably receive problems from others too if he keeps blocking communication from his buyers. I paid 30 to 45 seconds after the auction ended. I had no idea I'd be disrespected like that. With that many sells he should know better than to block out potential buyers, even if he does get some spam. Who doesn't? I just delete them and read the mail I do want. I don't block anyone.
Don't mind one neg. I built this little bit of fb, it won't hurt me. I don't regret it. Other buyers will know this person won't try to communicate and will block them from e-mailing them. I didn't care that he sent me a bill. What bothered me was I was unable to contact him from my email addresses because he evidently has blocked all these domains. I am confused as to why he kept emailing me right after the other. I was trying to email him from all my free webmails. My aol mail hasn't been working, so I don't think that even went through. He was never courteous. He just sends me 2 bills one auto style other he typed saying that he knew bidders like me were usually deadbeats, etc. like he was afraid I wasn't gonna pay him. I don't think it was called for. After all been going on this week, not gonna take that rude behavior off of anyone again.
These spice jars are pretty old. Prob. over 30 years. They look like the type of jars from when my mom was a kid. I shouldn't have got them though. They're probably worthless without the lids. One of them has a small part of paint from where a label had been painted on.

I have received e-mail from other IP's stating my e-mail was blocked. Usually, it a temp. problem with the server. I just wait a few hours and it works again or I contact them through e-bay.
Your poor seller most likely has been caught broadside by you. You should give a little more time and try to understand, that maybe he has no idea what your talking about yet. After reading his 70 + positive feedbacks, I would have to say you jumped the gun on this guy. I just hope you post a follow-up in his feedback after your item arrives.
Sincerely,

red ~ jumped the gun a little didn'tcha?
IMO you should have at least waited the standard 3 days. It would have given the seller some time to get back to you.
With Andale the WBN and the payment requests can be automatic. Meaning, they are sent to all winners at the end of all of his auctions. So your payment probably was recieved and noted, but Andale still send out the emails because it was programmed to.
My rules of thumb....
#1 ~ always wait at least (at the VERY least) 3 days. (7 is better)
#2 ~ don't let your emotions take over, remain professional.
#3 ~ don't leave a neg if your not willing to deal with the consequences

I have the same ISP for email as you have -- so apparently some users or their ISPs have blocked Lycos mail. In the future if you have this problem, you should go to the auction page and click on the send this auction to a friend link (you will have to copy the seller's email address in the blank for your "friend's" address). (You might also mention that your mail is being blocked by their ISP, so they will understand why you're using that method to contact them.)

IF it arrives. I could never email him my address. Since he called me a liar in this last email saying I didn't pay he wouldn't have the address from billpoint either. On one hand he's saying I didn't pay him then he's saying he sent it out yet I still can't email him. He did say I paid him in his response to me.
And he lied saying I threatened him. I hate liars. All I was trying to do was email him and let him know I'd already paid by billpoint and give him my name and address. I was trying to be nice and kept trying to email him. They all bounced. When all free domains are banned...
I doubt I'll receive the merchandise. If he hadn't been so rude I'd have been more patient, but he won't let me email him. He blocked the demain, so upon seeing my email address when ebay sent out the EOA info he would've known I was blocked. That wouldn't have been that hard to figure out. You don't block off communication with your customers like that....at least I don't. Since it's his server he can block whomever he wants though. Maybe I should block aol people. All these weirdos I have had in my other auctions were from aol. Of course I've had several that were decent. That's why you don't block a domain. I'll wait a week or so and if I don't get the merchandise I'll call my cc and see what I have to do to chargeback something.

If it's his ISP who's doing the blocking, he doesn't have much choice in the matter. Some ISPs block domains who send a lot of spam -- maybe Lycos does (send a lot of spam) -- I don't know.
Violetta
P.S. This may have been the first time he had a Lycos mail customer. Maybe he didn't know his ISP was blocking Lycos mail...
