What states do you find yourself shipping to over and over? do you keep track? I have a huge map of the USA and a huge world map and I put pins to represent # of sale to each state/country. Here's how my sales are going, highest to lowest for within the USA; (they is another thread going on Which Country if you'd like to declare that also!)
#1, California!
#2, Vermont! (this tickles me, what are there, like, 150 people in all of Vermont? Must be they ALL buy?)
#3, Florida
#4, Ohio
#5, Louisiana
#6, New York
#7, Illinois
#8, Washington
#9, Pennsylvannia
#10, New Jersey
Also frequent are N/S Carolina, OK, Mi, Tx.

I have a lot of buyers from Texas, California, and Washington state ... probably because so many people live there.
I don't get too many buyers from Missouri, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, Idaho, Kentucky, or Virginia.
And I get more bidders from Alaska and Hawaii than one might expect! I keep trying to fit myself into a Hawaii-destined package, but I won't fit ... he he

I sell vintage lingerie and the bulk of it goes to California, Florida, Texas, and Washington State.
When I sell to ladies' lingerie and shoes to buyers who have a man's name (i.e. transvestites) they have almost always resided in either New Jersey or Florida. Don't know why.
I have never had a sale to Vermont in close to 500 transactions. I guess it's too cold for lingerie. Maybe they prefer flannel.

The rim states: Washington, Oregon, California, Texas, Lousiana, FLorida, Georgia, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Michigan. Rarely sell to the mid-west, although Ohio is up there...THink I sold something to Kansas once....

California, easily. Unfortunately, I am in Virginia and I sell books. Most folks want them shipped Media Mail, and it takes forever. I spend a fair amount of time alerting my CA buyers on ebay and Amazon to this, and many take Priority. I can only hope my half.com buyers get their books eventually!

As a proud member of the state of vermont, let me offer some insight:
1. We are very rural, very little shopping malls, so mail order is king here. We probably have disproportionate sales on ebay (and everything else mailorder).
2. There is a telecommunications push here, to make sure people are internet-ready, etc. Plus we have a huge IBM plant here, which tends to produce a lot of people who are tech-saavy.
As far as the lingerie goes, all I can say is that women can only wear it two weeks a year (in July, after the snow melts), so usually a nightie or two is a "lifetime supply"! (Besides, in the right light, flannel can be kind of sexy!)

I've sold tons of stuff to hawaii, so I know there are buyers there. I sell clothing, maybe that has something to do with it?
Just off the top of my head, California, Washington State, Texas & New York are where most of the customers seem to come from.

#1 Ohio
#2 California
#3 Virginia
Then I've sold things to Michigan, Montana, N.C., S.C., HI, NY, NJ, Minnesota, and Florida. Texas and Illinois too. Most of my weird buyers are from Virginia, which is where I am originally from and why I moved is because of all the nuts. I cringe everytime I get a VA mailing address.
I've also sold ballcards to Canada. I didn't even have to pay much extra postage or fill out custom forms. I ditched my usual bubble envelope and folded layers of paper around the cards and told the p.o. it was a letter with pics in it. (ballcards are pics, so wasn't really a lie ) and paid .45 for shipping. This customer had sent me long, detailed instructions on custom forms, to claim gift (her instructions were 5 pages long), and I was like there has to be an easier way and found it. I emailed her back and told her I found a way to get them there and she loved the creativity.
Well, we're about to have electric storm so I'd better get off here.

California and Texas ( from up here in the cold Canada world) but my sales have been down lately and perhaps paying for all our Canadian electricity has upset Californians ( and with good reason!) and as my gas bill continues to skyrocket~ we heat by wood!

Most of my buyers are in Illinois, but that's no big surprise to me because I'm in Illinois too. My auctions show "Northern Illinois" as my location. Maybe people like to bid on auctions run by in-state sellers so if the item isn't right, they can track us down and clobber us.
California
Florida
Texas
I've often thought about checking all my sales to see what states I am missing. Last month I made a sale in West Virgina, my first & only one in that state.

Most of you have Florida on your list. I live in FL and rarely sell to FL residents. And luvmy2bears in WA has the same experience in her state. I think it's because of the state sales tax. People would rather not pay it. My list:
1. TX
2. NY
3. PA
4. CA
5. MI
6. NJ
7. WA
8. MO
9. OH
10. IL
