Don't you hate it when one of the CEO's trips over and disconnects a vital extension chord at eBay? They've been told to not chase after pennies rolling down the hall before.

eBud just ended all my auctions, of course none of them go off tonight, I have learned my lesson, they go off Tuesday, but eBud thinks they have just ended.

Over 20 minutes since the first poster here opened this thread, and nothing at the announcements page.

My confidence in eBay is underwhelming.

Down in Canada too! It's a free listing day for eBay ca today, a lot of good that is when the site is down! I hope they will give us another chance.

I wanted to snipe about 40 auctions from one of my favorite sellers...booooo hooo. Guess I'll send an email and offer to buy whatever doesn't sell. That'll teach me to snipe! I am sooooo glad I don't have anything ending today but then I have 143 ending next Sunday and I am getting worried....

Down in DC/Md. I have auctions closing this evening. Watch ebay fix it JUST before they have to put this back a day. All the bidders will probably be gone by then. Way to go ebay, right on time for a crash. There's nothing on their announcement board about this either!

A couple of other things:

1) I really groaned when I saw that ebay picture hosting service -- I don't use it but the thing is that it looks way too comprehensive and technically brilliant and such a service does not really seem to be ebay's forte -- I mean no offense to Meg, but with all of the outages that ebay has had, can anyone say when have they ever shown a predeliction for brilliance at anything technical? - especially in terms of a service level? No, that picture hosting service looks far too complicated to me for their staff to handle but of course that is just in my opinion.

2) I still do not understand WHY when ebay has so many technical problems AND business problems (eg Butterfields and Half.com) AND with the dot com bubble bursting they are valued so highly by the market, especially with this big black hole in auction sales during the summer time? Anyone got an idea - never mind, someone may talk me into buying into CMGI again!

It's at least partially back up... I'm intermittantly able to list again, although I'm getting error messages every few moments. Haven't tried any other parts of the site.

I can get on here in AR. I've had auctions ending all weekend, and AW hasn't been sending the WBN notifications. Even worse, it doesn't give me the post sale options to manually send them - it just looks like unsuccessful auctions. Any ideas?

Back up in WI, but dreadfully slow, even with a cable modem.

But they are still down in parts - I have snipes programmed and they aren't able to get through even though ebay says they are OK now - they aren't! I just contacted the seller I want to buy from and she says same thing, can't log on, can't look, nothing!!!

Meg: please forgive me for everything I ever said against ebay and pls tell your lawyers that my IP address is spoofed and very tough to trace and that milkman (or woman) is technically brilliant after all -- THANKS! -0- my moaning and whining was just the sound of a frustrated seller on the verge of losing hundreds of dollars in blown auctions so you just have to expect that sort of thing Meg - RIGHT? Thanks for your understanding and LONG live ebay! Yours Truly, snipekiller

The 20 minutes ebay was down was long enough for 10 of my auctions to end. I hate ebay!

Is that why I listed my auctions with Auction Watch and checked the "PUT IN THE GALLERY BOX" and only one out of 8 made it to the gallery?!?? I am so ticked off. Please advise. Thanks!

My last auction for the week end ended about 25 minutes before they went down. I had about 30 snipe bids today, so I guess I got lucky!!! (and made a little $$ this week )

I don't get it. I'm getting tons of bids and making a gazillion bucks today!

(Just kidding. My sales are so sucky I wouldn't know if eBay is up right now or not.)

Repair manuals do ok on eBay. (Old ones do pretty good, and so do newer ones.) I've sold quite a few, but the ones I have left, I need to keep. (Of course, I might pick up a hundred of them in a "deal" next week )

Well if Meg at ebay has a boat and the same engineer that "maintains" ebay is maintaining Meg's boat -- then... er, well you get picture!
