Her face is on our coins---it use to be on our bills but that's been replaced by Canadian Prime Ministers.

The monarchy is a figurehead--it's tradition--but one without much impact.

The British Royal Family does NOT rule Canada---though many Americans believe they do.

All this talk of monarchy led me to realize the perfect solution to this election. Let Bush be President and Gore be King. Al would probably like that a lot better because he could wear a neat crown. Besides, "Your Majesty" sounds cooler than "Mr. President."

You know, this President/King solution is starting to grow on me. George should definitely be President with Al the King. Since the British have had a King George there would be too much confusion if it were the other way around. There is something so American about "King Al".

King Al could then name Hillary the Duchess of York. We could have our own and we could let the British keep Wallace Simpson. Bill could be given the title the Earl of Arkansas.

King Al could award Bill Daly the title of the Count of Chicago (or would that be the Recount of Chicago.
