eBay is NARUing bidders who placed bids on the Protest Auction that was recently cancelled.
They are giving no explanation to the NARUs, but 7 people I know who placed bids have been sent letters of suspension.

In case no one has noticed (and I have pointed this out before - although some of you Americans get really riled when you hear it...) ebay is constantly violating freedom of speech, but they get away with it, because the ideal of freedom of speech is not guaranteed under a corporate structure. They can do whatever the fig they like - because its THEIRS! It should be challenged in court...

Silly troll, kicks are for Trids...
This is the email I just got from ebay... I ain't NARU'D yet.
Dear Bidderx ([email protected]),
Please be aware that auction:
1608411040 - Petition AGAINST Recommendation Emails
in which you were a bidding participant, has been ended early by eBay for violating one or more of our listing guidelines.
Because the auction was ended early, you as a bidder are not required to complete the transaction. Since this is a listing violation, the seller is free to relist the item in the proper format. Should you wish to do so, you are free to bid on the item again if it is relisted.
If you care to review our listing guidelines for a better understanding of our auction policies, they can be found at:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/png-list.html
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have on our existing policies.
Regards,
Vladimir I. Shevchenko ([email protected])

lifesablur...can you maybe provide some proof of this? It is not that I doubt you personally, but I don't see what reason could (that would stand up) be given for the NARU of a bidder for simply bidding in an auction (real auction or otherwise).
Not only that, but they have already drawn an unwanted notice to themselves for pulling the shooting star jacket...do they really want to face the onslaught they will receive if they NARU bidders, too? I don't think so...but then again, they haven't had too many lights on in the thinktank for a couple of years now.
If this has happened to a friend of yours...can she/he shout "my lawyer will be in touch"?

If anyone was actually NARU'd, from bidding on one of those auctions, it's becuase they were using a "spare" ID with bad contact info? Those 0 FB's ID's bidding 7 digit amounts? Just a guess here. BTW, I bid on the jacket and both RECO Protest auctions....no problems here........

Hi all. This is my first post. I am a tiny Ebay seller but can certainly feel what is going on. If anyone has this auction saved somewhere, I am betting that forwarding it to the Wall Street Journal would definitely raise some red flags on the "street". Anybody agree? pbd1

just as piece of mind
(for those who are currently having an anxiety attack from this undocumented thread):
One of my ID's was in the top five (high bidders).
They're not going from the top down or I'd be NARU.
NOT.
Both of my ID's start with a "C".
They must not be going alphabetically or I'd be NARU.
Not.
Registered since 1998.
Pulled by length of time as a community member?
Not.
PowerSellers first?
I'm one of those too.
Not NARU.
Newbies that don't make them any money?
Nope, that ID is just fine. No warning, Not NARU.
The other ID has over 1800 transactions.
Guess they're not NARU-ing by activity, either.
Shall I go on?
Please don't let this thread be cause for Xanax!!!
Happy Monday, all!!

If eBay even thinks of NARUing folks for bidding, I hope they have blanks loaded in that clip when they aim that .45 at their collective foot.

We all know ebay, and the first person to be NARU would be the seller. She is NOT. So why would ebay NARU anyone else? I bid, I'm still registered. As are many that are posting on the ebay boards.

I don't think they will do that again.
There was an incident on the DNF Board over 18 months ago(as I can best recall)where over 24 users were NARU'd as a group for participating in a discussion.
Maybe someone with archives of that incident can retell the story and the outcome.

My hat is off to all those that had the guts to bid. I did not for this fear. I know I can replace my ebay income, just not on such short notice!
