To the buyer,
Can you see why there was a question? If you compared your scanned broken piece to the whole thing? That was the reason for this thread.

And the TRUTH comes out! I, for one, am very glad the buyer has come here.

Red-Deer, why did you not give us the WHOLE story?

forhope,

This conversation for the moment is being allowed to stand and it will be in your best interests to not editorialize.

Please keep your personal comments to yourself.

Oh my, the TRUTH says Forhope. Too friggen funny.

Hello Kevin, I expected that some weenie would email you with a link to this thread, glad to see you show up.

First off, if you take the time to read this thread, and ALL the comments I've made, I DID state [twice in fact] that you DID send me a scan of the shipping label, AND the Customs label.

Before you comment any further, I suggest you go back & read each comment I've made thus far.

As to the insurance. Um, no, insurance was NOT asked for, nor was it paid for by you.

Last night when I asked for a complete picture of ALL the pieces, suggesting that I needed it to show Canada Post [a clerk SNAFU] was my way of asking for the info without suggesting you were attempting to pull a fast one.

I suppose I could have just called you a con artist & refused insurance.

Here's my first response to your initial email with the damage report.

..............................................

Hi Kevin,

Well that totally stinks. I made sure that the vase was double boxed so
that even if the USPS drop kicked it, it would survive. Was the box itself damaged?
If so, did the Postal clerk/delivery person make note of the damage?
There's really not much I can do other than refund you the full cost, but I
would like to see a picture of the piece first. No sense in you returning
the broken vase to me, it's now worth nothing, and the USPS won't ship
broken glass. I must say I'm rather surprised it reached FL so fast via
Surface Mail, but I guess what the USPS made up in speed, they lost in handling.

Sorry this happened, and it's the first piece I've had arrive damaged in
over 1500 shipments world wide.

Neil

.............................................

I apologize for being deceptive in how I asked for the pics, but I certainly don't apologize for anything else I've done regarding this thread, or how I've handled this situation with you thus far.

Kevin, trust me, the vast majority of people on eBay are honest, but there's plenty of con artists on both sides of the fence that deal on eBay, both buyers & sellers.

I came here looking for some advice & opinions, but unfortunately there's a few azzwipes registered to this site that have nothing better to do than play johnny sheet disturber.

Oh well, such is life.

I must say that I don't see what all the fuss is about.

If I'm reading this correctly, the seller is offering to refund the buyer for the damaged item once the buyer sends a photo of the item. I think that is perfectly understandable, and if I were in the buyer's shoes, I would certainly understand the seller wanting me to send a photo. That would be less expensive and less trouble for me than having to send it back.

What difference does it make whether the package was insured or not, as long as the seller is willing to cover it? From the buyer's perspective, what difference does it make WHERE the money comes from, as long as he/she is reimbursed?

In my opinion, Reddeer is handling this beautifully and is to be commended for his intregity and customer service. And, in my opinion, seeing as how the buyer is being very cooperative about sending a better photo, I doubt seriously if there is a scam going on.

Just my two cents.

Red-Deer First time I ever heard you call someone a Weenie when they contacted the buyer.....
When others contacted the buyer in other threads did you feel the same way or is the name calling just for this instance because it was done to you.

I noticed in times past when the buyer was brought to the thread ..in your words you stated...
"Oh my...Now we're a cookin"

Geesh, here we go again.

FYI - I was one of the MAIN users of this site that made a ROYAL stink when AW changed their TOU to allow posters to include links to auctions.

After myself & a few others stated our reasons why NO GOOD comes from doing just what has happened here on this thread, AW reversed their decision.

So, if you want to dig up some dirt, go dig up those comments posted by me.

Personally I feel sorry for the loser that felt the need to email my high bidder, they must lead a funged up life.

If I would have received the first photo of just those broken pieces, I would have wondered whether it was off of my item. It just isn't a match.

Yes, in the world of ebay it is a naive seller that is not wary of the scams, there should be no apology for that.

But this seller just didn't slam the door, I think that a compromise could have been reached once the proper verification was obtained.

I thought the reason the customs label wasn't shown was because of the identifying numbers on it.

I no longer feel comfortable posting on this thread and getting in between the dispute between the buyer and seller. Just one more reason to have a different posting ID than ebay ID.

I think the seller's feedback should speak for itself to the buyer. And I still would doubt that first photo.

Best of luck to both of you.

FYI - The Customs label showed BOTH my name & addy AND the buyers. I didn't think it would be too wise to post such personal info on a public forum.

Hello Everyone,

As much as I hate to do this, I'm going to do it. I'm going to have to lock this thread up.

We learn from each other and this seller and buyer both appear to be very professional and able to work this out privately.

Perhaps when the issue is totally resolved, Reddeer can email the moderator on duty to get this thread unlocked for the short time it would take to post the resolution, for the curious.

Thanks to everyone that kept this thread on track and professional.
