As a seller that uses paypal I NEVER charge more for fees- that's against policy. The fact it was not stated in the terms is also wrong as your husband may not have bid. False advertising.
I'd mention that to seller, tell them it's against policy and you want your $$$ back, including YOUR fees to send paypal.
If they refuse tell them you will contact ebay and paypal.

Good night irene!
Beatrice I am sorry you went through that to have paypal behave in it's usual spineless manner.
That's it.
I am closing my freaking account.
Damn the torpedos!
Did he stop the email?
I got a bidder's neg on a guy who bait and switched. I contacted some other bidders who hadn't left feedback yet and asked them if they had any trouble.
One lady left a neg when she felt like she wasn't alone.
Last month I saw the scum selling off his inventory.
Gee nothing like seeing failure in your enemies.
Best of luck!
The e-mails stopped once I forwarded them to AOL, they do take a pretty dim view of people threatening others, and also creating screen names to do so. Part of their "family friendly" image, I guess.
The way I look at it now, I'm out the 2.37, but since he was only going to refund 76.00 via paypal (because of his fees) and I would have only received about 74.00, I'm still a little better off, cuz the transaction would have cost me about 5.00 and I still would not have had the product. This way, it cost me 2.37 add'l and I have the item.

If he continues to harass you, I would turn his butt into your and his local FBI office and to the office in Wash D.C. What he is doing is against the law. And while I'm on a roll, turn him into his local sheriff's office and police department. geesch
