I have to B*tch for a second.....I am so Sick of so many of you complaining about eBay.....Every other post is a negative about them!
If you don't like,Don't use it!
Let's use this board for more pertinent issues, please!
I sell on Ebay and Love it....sure,at times it has it's downsize, but it has given me a chance to work from home and not have to go to a dull/boring job and work for someone else.........I get to be with my family and I get to go to auctions, sales, flea markets for my work.......So everyone please either "Chill Out!" or don't use eBay...I'm sure I am not the only one here that is tired of all the b*tchin!

Sorry to put my two cents in but...you must be selling a lot retail stuff. Ebay started out as a way for collectors to get things from their past, like their old commercials on tv. Now they are not catring at all to these small time sellers. I stay home with my 5 kids selling old vintage things and when they change all the rules so drastically like the links issue it kills us. Depending on how long you have sold on Ebay you will learn the hard way. Sure I can make a living through October through early May. But through the Summer you will see their new rules will make it very hard to eak out a living through the summer when you are getting 10% of what you used to get. Much less this year I have only been getting in good months 25% of what I got the previous years. You must be new. The links make it pssible to increase sales.

torley: don't come in here tellin' us all what to do. If you don't like the threads, don't read'em!

(NOW... isn't that equivelant to the advice you have for folks that are not happy about some of the changes being made at eBay?)

Folks are discussing some OPTIONS for their online sales in ADDITION to eBay.

Check out:

sellyouritem.com
epier.com
bidville.com
321gone.com

just for starters... *smile*
folks love eBay so much and the money they can make in online sales that they just want to be able to duplicate that same success in other venues!

complaints are pertinent issues In fact if things were perfect there would be no pertinent issues.

when you say you love ebay but you have some pertinent issues you are in other words saying you have a complaint.

sorry cant have one with out the other.

in any case isnt this thread in its self really a complaint about ebay users who are in every sense Ebay with out its users it would be waste land.

if every user Ebay user who had a complaint were to just leave ebay wouldnt even have stock holders Ya think !!!!!!!

Funny, I only come here when I feel like I need to complain. Know why? Because there is always someone here who makes me feel better! I come here when I have a problem, usually. But I have to say, I have also posted here when I had good things happen too! I had a really sweet bidder once who did something soooo nice, she paid for an auction and the shipping was incredulous, so she suggested I donate the item instead to a local charity! The complaints and the good always even each other out!
You bring the balls and I'll bring the bat!!

Torley: I can understand and appreciate your feelings. I harbored the same ones when I first joined eBay and began selling there. But things change. Take an open-minded look at some of these strings and what eBay unnecessarily has put sellers and buyers through.

I think people complain, not for the sake of complaining, but rather to try to change an business that's seen as out of control.

It's sort of like the Republican Party. It was once noble and did good works. But over time, it sunk, became dirty, and now I want little to do with it. But I still complain about it every chance I get. It's BECAUSE I still care. If I didn't, there would be no reason to complain.

Torley:
Stating a complaint "out loud" brings possible solutions and alternatives from those who "hear" it.
EO has been incredibly helpful to me and I like to think I have made life a bit easier for other posters with some of my input/responses to their complaints. Many of the AW regulars have expertise in several fields (electronic payments/high dollar auctions/thousands of transactions/bidders that don't read/etc) who offer their experience for FREE to those who (key words) appreciate it.
You have been at AW for less than three weeks and are tired of hearing it?
Perhaps you should look into why your tolerance level is so low.
or, as you so eloquently put it:
If you don't like,Don't use it!

it isn't difficult to tell by the subject line of a thread if it's about someone's dissatisfaction with various aspects of ebay. as dottie said, skip over those threads if they bother you.

i like ebay; it's been a godsend to me while i've been between clients, helping to keep me afloat. but now i see that may not continue to be the case. better come up with a plan b, and i appreciate the threads, and the posters, who have brought this to my attention and posted possible alternatives.

i have checked out all the other sites, and unfortunately only bidville has any (even so, only 5 or so, with no bids) of the items i sell. still, no harm in listing there the items that didn't sell on ebay.

I find some of the complaints I've read help me to better run my auctions. If a bunch of Sellers say I hate it when a Seller does...maybe we all better read it.I have learned alot on here reading complaints. As far as complaining about E-Bay itself,I never knew of anybody that didn't grip about their job part of the time, but they don't quit.
