Here is my funny feeling,

Had an auction end 3 weeks ago, send out EOA, email gets returned "permanent fatal errors"

Winner emails me a few days later, saying he changed email addresses. (Still old one on ebay)

I send him the info at his "new address". I really don't even know if it is the winner, since "old" address is still at ebay.

Hear nothing for 3 weeks, file NPB Alert. Since old address is still at ebay I am sure he doesn't get warning.

Get one of those temporary checks in the mail as payment. Number 0001. Name and address written in. This was yesterday.

Get email from winner today. Did you receive payment? When will it ship? I really need it for a gift.

Funny feeling? You bet!

Hi barrelracer,

Have you tried pulling their contact info, and see if the name matches up with the info they've sent you? You could even call them if they have their PH # included in the contact info.

Also, if you notify eBay that the registered email address is no longer valid, they might NARU that bidder....if you want to to that.

I'd be kind of leery of this. JMO.

Contact info is something I didn't think of, that is a good idea.

I replied to the winner that I did receive his payment he made with a temporary check and I am waiting for it to clear. I will see what he says.

I also mentioned his email address at ebay. Seems to me if he was on the up and up he would change it there too.

Thanks and the contact info will probably be my next step.

Off to Post Office.
