It's bad enough when we have to deal with Earthly Trolls -- now that the Venusians come down for their August vacations & we get bombarded with all this Inter-plantary Trollisms
Ah well...eBay...watcha gonna do when they come for you?!

Any ritalin auctions up on ebay right now? I think AW management would give us a dispensation to post the auction number in this particular case.

When the still sea conspires an armor
And her sullen and aborted
Currents breed tiny monsters
True sailing is dead
Awkward instant
And the first animal is jettisoned
Legs furiously pumping
Their stiff green gallop
And heads bob up
Poise
Delicate
Pause
Consent
In mute nostril agony
Carefully refined
And sealed over

Silly me! Read this entire post, thinking I could eventually figure out what was being discussed. Besides inflated shipping fees, I haven't a clue as to what the rant is about. If you don't ask about shipping fees BEFORE bidding, then you have no one to blame but yourself.
If shipping fees are stated in the auction, and you bid anyway, what's the beef?
Last thing we need is the feds in here! There are too many hands in our pockets already!
Must be time for me to take a couple of aspirin and lie down for awhile.

Eventer: You are right. If I begun to understand this thread, I would just check myself into a mental clinic, or go to congress and become a member.
PJ38: In the beginning, God created a keyboard. He said let there be an ENTER key, BACKSPACE, and created punctuation. If we are to understand you, which I don't think I ever will, then please use some KNOWN form of writing. If not, please give us a secret decoder ring. I seem to have lost mine.

He took his vorpal sword in hand: Long time the manxome foe he sought- So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back.
'And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arns, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!' He chortled in his joy.

I too would like to request a secret decoder ring. I have been reading this thread and I just realized that I haven't the faintest idea what I am reading about. Brevity demonstrates command of the English language like nothing else.

Sorry, no Secret Decoder Rings in stock; we are anticipating ordering a large shipment of them if we can just get rid of all these Vorpal Swords. If that 5% Tax hits us, we may just give up. -PJ38.05-

US Representative Chris Cox (R-CA) is on WABC 770-AM NYC right now talking about a Extension of his "No-Internet-Retail-Sales-Tax" Federal Law that expires very soon. He is convincing me that we should extend this policy or pass new Legistlation to keep "Johnny In Your Pocket" out of the Internet. Amazingly, US Senator Leahy (D-VT), a confirmed Liberal Democrat and Head of the Senate Judicial Committee, is in agreement with Chris Cox on this. We appreciate the comments that Sellers and Buyers at AW have contributed their thoughts on this vital issue. Our local Rep. has commended your passion and logic. It is obvious that abuses on Internet Venues can be resolved without destroying the growing commerce and opportunity that the Internet has afforded American Citizens. We are constantly impressed by the business that is done by individuals and families, as well as small businesses, while the MBA's and .Coms attempted to reintroduce the Edsel with a 120% Rebate. A personal phone call to your Rep. and two Senators will not hurt, a letter, an E-Mail also. Give your local and/or Nationally Syndicated Radio Talk Show Host a shot on this. This should be a Non-Partisan issue. The Unions and Minorities went against their Democrat Party affiliation last week on the Mexican Truck/Nafta situation. Many Republicans voted against "W" on this agenda of his. This is not a endorsement of either side of that sticky wicket. It is merely our observation that the Internet "Venue" Members can work together to shape and influence your future and prosperity. Thanks again. J

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!!!
1st.
I see nothing wrong with sellers charging for shipping and handling fees as long as they are reasonable. If something will ship for 3.90, which includes priority mail and delivery confirmation, I charge $4.50. The extra $.60 helps cover ebay fees, plus time and travel costs. Since I drive to the post office daily when i get payments, this amount doesn't begin to cover my costs.
2nd.
Ebay doesn't do enough to protect sellers or buyers...they really don't care as long as they make money.
3rd.
I really don't think an Internet Tax will pass right now in this economy. We are in a huge recession right now due to the Internet and Tech Stock Crash Backlash.
4th.
If George W. Bush was not our President, we would not have gotten a tax refund. Would Gore have championed a refund? NO!!!! Proof - He, buy casting the tie-breaking vote, passed the largest tax increase in US History. This was legislation he was proud of.

I GOT MY SECRET DECODER RING TODAY!
So I used it, only to find out that I now know where Chandra Levy is buried, who killed Jon Benet, and that O.J. is really guilty. However, the ring broke when I tried using it to figure out this thread. Something about bull$%#$ overload or something.
Go figure... the ring was made in Washington D.C. you would think it would hold up against that.

I think I have lost my grasp on the English language.
Reading through this thread, I am alternating between pulling my hair out, ROFLMAO, banging my head against the all, and PIMP.
Monday morning, not enough coffee, ZERO comprehension(except for the comic relief!)
If this is about the Internet retail tax:
I doubt we will see that anytime soon ~ the economy needs the boost it is getting from Internet sales. It would be foolish to jeopardize that with taxes at this time.
Did I say foolish?
Okay ~ maybe we will see it then
If this is about inflated shipping charges:
As my aunt would say, "Ganook" (enough). Don't bid.
If this is about filing charges against fraudulent sellers:
Do you really have that much spare time to spend on a $50 widget?
Chalk it up to live & learn and move on.
* I need some aspirin and caffeine *
(and some paper towels to salvage my keyboard)

This the sort of composition you get from the current school system. A disjointed, run on sort of a free-verse, manic "communication" that combines incomplete sentances with incomplete ideas. If it were a users manual for a Japanese machine we would excuse the form but the writer honestly thinks it is English. What is scary is that I have worked with people who speak like this, and expect you to guess the meaning by word frequency and emphasis.

I have seen the light!
PJ38= Stay in your pj's until you have reached the mature age of 38.
I have learned from the error of my ways:
1) Never should have taken off my pajama's
2) I am only 36.
Unless you have stayed in your jammies for your first 38 years of life, you are simply unable to comprehend the intricacies of this thread.
Whew!
* What a difference it makes to bang your head against the wall a few times *
