Amwell-that could have easily been me emailing you-but it wasn't. You say you learned to give all the info up front. Why would you not?
When I bid, I don't save the auction page. I just wait to see if I won. I HATE it when I get an email telling me to go back to the auction page and find the shipping cost. You're the seller-you tell me!
I had a situation a lot like this over the weekend. I was checking to see what feedback I needed to leave for sellers and noticed I had won an auction 3 or 4 days before. Don't count on that Ebay notice-sometimes it never arrives as in this case. I had not heard from the seller, either. I emailed them and they said they use the automated WBN's and I must not have rec'd mine. They emailed me with the ending price only. Why?? Was shipping free? No-I was supposed to look it up. Well, I don't think so. I emailed back and asked for the total-which should have been sent in the first place.
I just don't get it when sellers think the buyer should do the "paperwork" at the EOA. I make it very simple for my buyers-that's my job.

Sadie--It *is* possible to be online and on
the phone simultaneously if you have two
phone lines. More common for businesses,
but some folks have a second home phone line
for their FAX, modem, teenage daughter, etc.

janusaries, I guess I wasn't clear; sorry. He wanted to know if I was online when I tried to update my subscription. Nah, I thought the Norton site was on my hard drive!

I am sorry but I AM the nicest seller in the world. I let my customers walk all over me. (Maybe it's my user name.)
I find a lot of the questions asked are for a very good reason like "could you verify the dress length please? 72" seems a tad long" or "I've never seen a Ralph Lauren dress in size 5" or "I love the dress, but what I really want is that hat she's wearing."
And the best of all "Do you think big ol' me will fit in it without looking silly?"

I do give the info up front in the winning bidder notification for US buyers. As I stated though, this bidder was from Canada so I had to calculate the shipping amount. I can't possibly list the shipping amount for every country in the world so this is the only way I have figured out to do this. The amount she won the auction for was listed in the AuctionWatch WBN and the eBay WBN. I just sent a simple email stating the amount for shipping to Canada. The extra information she was asking for was the amount she won the auction for, which she received 2 notifications for.
Also, I did state that this was one of my first auctions and I hadn't learned yet to spell out everything for the buyer.
Sorry if this was confusing.
