HI there Violetta,
THANK YOU SO MUCH! Actually, I had returned to Florence's book last night and saw the dessert sets, but then dismissed it as the petals go straight up on them, and this one has them going out. BUT, on closer scrutiny, there is a bowl pictured that has them going out and must be it, but... it looks white in the picture and so I over looked it!!!! (Funny since someone commented that MINE looked white... it is an extremely pale blue....)
Well, I'm delighted to have found my first azurite pieces. I may not be able to part with them. When I first saw them I thought that was what they were, but was really thrown by the lack of Fire King identification. Hmmm. Ya live... Ya learn...
I can't thank you all enough. SUCCESS!!!!! I bow to your wisdom and can't praise/thank you all enough.

Dichroic......... what I didn't remember is alexandrite. Dichroic or dichromatic glass means that the glass shows different colors depending on the angle of the light falling on it or transmitted through it. This is a reasult of neodymium in alexandrite as a coloring agent. The glass appears lavender under tungsten and daylight, and blue under fluorescent light. The glass is also called Neodidium.
