Hey- I NEVER said I was pasting the flags in my auctions to GET MORE BUSINESS. Really- I have listed what items I have this evening to take my mind off this terrible event, even for a little while. I wouldn't dream of pasting a flag for commercial purposes-I have too much respect for all those souls who perished on Tuesday. It just makes me feel better-and more solid with my fellow Americans. As any of you can see- I actually have 2 flags-the American and the Greek-I am a Greek American, and very PROUD to be!

kyriaki - it wasn't thank god, esp. in light of the NEW terrorists just being "detained".

as for the controversy over the flags, congratulations. I've made it through this whole ordeal so far without actually shedding tears, but I"m crying NOW! I am so upset by those comments. I thought that yes, in some pathetic small way, simply putting a flag on my auctions would be making a statement of solidity with my countrymen and defiance against our enemies. That makes me a crass opportunist on par with people selling chunks of concrete...??

upset? UPSET???

Last week my American Flag was in my heart. This week I hope to put the Flag in a more visible place and show a united front with our other citizens. Why not use the visibility to make a statement?

Why can't we just mourn our loss of people? We can make money next week and the week after. These victims are never coming back to their loved ones. Do you think they're worried about their jobs right now. Can't we just take a few days off?

Have you thought that those terriorists have already visulized as just thinking about money? I look at it a different way. Instead of showing them it's back to business as usual, show them we care about the humans in this attack, and we're united in helping each other.

If not for our abilty to get back to bussiness as usual there this country and its people wouldn't have the funds to get back on its feet or defend its self as well as it can right now.

Remember the $$$ for the clean up efforts , rebuilding, investigating getting inteligents and fighting comes directly from taxes paid and donations made out of the Dollars we all make from bussiness as usual if it wasn't for that this country would just be another third world nation..

There are many out there after this attack not able to work or get back to bussiness as usual for some there is no bussiness to get back too.

At this time as it should be we are only seeing the tragic life lost in this attack and that in its self is very bad, but the monitary losses in the weeks and months to come are going to be very bad as well.

Remember in even WWII which the US was sucessfull in if it had not been for the hard work and bussiness as usual additude of the people not directly on the front the USA wouldn't have had the Money to Be as sucessfull as it was.

This Attack I'm affraid is not Just going to cost us a few billion $$ This one by the time you count the monitary losses in world tradeing is gonna make the national debt look like spare change.

dman - yes, what you say is true of course. Don't you think we all know that? We're not retiring! I just said what is a few days? No one said you had to take a break. Some of us are waiting, and others are working. It's an indiviual thing. Neither way is right or wrong.

I really don't think this is the time to judge how anybody handles their grief, whether they feel better working or not working, bidding on a widget, selling a widget, putting a flag in an auction or not.
Everybody is entitled to handle this in a way that eases the pain.
